Not sure if anyone saw this new discounted rate for later this year...

From October 1 through December 31, 2012, Members will be able to purchase a Walt Disney World Premium Annual Pass for just $399 (that's a savings of $300 off the regular price!)*. Premium Annual Passholders enjoy unlimited admission to four Theme Parks, a year's worth of unlimited access to Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park and Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Parks, DisneyQuest Indoor Interactive Theme Park, ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex, Disney's Oak Trail Golf Course (greens fees only) and more!

I just have one question: when it will be time to renew, will I be obligated to renew a 'Premium Pass' or will I be able to renew at the renew price for a 'Regular annual pass' ?

You can renew as a regular AP. I have gone back and forth several tumes

Guess we will be buying APs again! The Premium option is plus.

I read the fine print and as long as the Premium AP voucher is purchased during the sale period, it doesn't have to be redeemed until 12/31/13. Perfect for our February 2013 trip.

I'm a little confused though...

It says that if you have an AP already, you can activate this one after your old AP expires, but then it says the new one must be redeemed by 12/31/12. Does that mean I have to activate it by 12/31/12 or just pick up the voucher? My present AP doesn't expire until 7/23/13.

Same here. I would buy new premium passes with the discount to use to renew our passes next year, but there is a chance we won't be back after our passes expire before December 2013 if we have kid #2.
