TR--Girls' Trip to Asia---Next Stop: Japan!--updated 10/16--Day 15 --TR Finished

After buying my popcorn, we went to eat lunch at Cape Cod Cook-Off since Cori could find something there to eat. I had a cheeseburger, fries and a coke.

HPIM2450.jpg

Then we took the railway to a different section.

HPIM2452.jpg

HPIM2453.jpg

We got a picture with Mr. Incredible. (and you can finally see my headband)

HPIM2454.jpg

HPIM2455.jpg

We rode Aquatopia next. It looks like bumper cars but was its own track. It was pretty boring.

HPIM2456.jpg

HPIM2456A.jpg

Then we rode Indiana Jones Adventure Temple of the Crystal Skull. We did the single rider line so there was no wait for us.

HPIM2458.jpg

HPIM2457.jpg

We tried to do that for Raging Spirits but they weren't doing it there that day so we got Fastpasses.

HPIM2460.jpg

HPIM2459.jpg

Then we went to see the show Big Band Beat. There is normally a lottery for it but not that day. We thought it would be Disney songs to a big band beat but it wasn't. It was just big band songs with a character on stage. We were falling asleep so we left. The usher seemed so confused that we wanted to leave.

HPIM2462.jpg

Up next...The Legend of the Mythica

Then we watched the Legend of Mythica show that was in the lake in the middle of the park. There were water floats with characters, jet skis, dragons, and unicorns.

HPIM2495.jpg

There was this sign near by and since it's my puppy's name, I had to take a picture.

HPIM2496.jpg

Up next...a princess meeting

We went to do a meet and greet with Ariel at Ariel's Grotto. I was the only one who wanted to take pictures with her.

HPIM2497.jpg

HPIM2498.jpg

Then we rode Raging Spirits. It was a really short roller coaster with a loop. Then we rode Sinbad's Storybook Voyage. None of us had ever heard of the story and it was all in Japanese so we had no clue what was going on. So we made up the story as we went along. That entertained us :lmao: It was a small world type of ride.

HPIM2499.jpg

We also saw Jafar.

HPIM2501.jpg

HPIM2502.jpg

Then we got soft serve at Sultan's Oasis. I forgot to take a picture until I was almost done. Oops!

HPIM2504.jpg

HPIM2503.jpg

I had to stop and take a photo with the Jasmine picture since I was wearing her shirt.

HPIM2505.jpg

HPIM2507.jpg

Then we went to the Magic Lamp Theater to watch the show. It was 3D and live action. It was okay (I was thinking it would be like the amazing show in Paris but it wasn't).

HPIM2508.jpg

Then we rode the Caravan Carousel. It was two stories. And funny story...After a couple minutes on it, the ride stopped so we got off our animals. We looked around and realized that no one else was getting off their animals and everyone was staring at us. We had no clue (and still don't) about what was happening so we quickly got back on and the ride went around some more. Oops!

HPIM2461.jpg

HPIM2509.jpg

HPIM2510.jpg

HPIM2511.jpg

HPIM2512.jpg

HPIM2513.jpg

HPIM2514.jpg

Then we rode Flounder's Flying Fish Coaster. It's a kiddie ride and no fish may smoke (according to the sign)

HPIM2515.jpg

HPIM2517.jpg

HPIM2516.jpg

We headed back up to the front of the park to take some pictures with the main icon--a big globe with Mickey and a Sorcerer hat.

Up next...the last little bit in the park...

Lovely shots.

Lots of great details everywhere in the park and that Legend of Mythica show looks awesome.

Great trip report!! I'm going to hop on over to your HK TR when I finish this one. I, too, want to visit all the Disney parks, but so far have only been to the parks here in CA.

Then I saw Gadget as she was going in (I've never seen her in our parks) so I had to snap a picture.

That is Clarice btw, Chip n Dale's lady friend. Gadget has more of a tom-boyish look. I also have never seen Clarice here in the parks. That is really cool.

Oh, and just bc I am neurotic, the picture of Malecifient & Radcliff from the show, isn't his name actually Frollo??

Also, what kind of discounts do we CMs get at the international parks? I know we get discounts on rooms, anything else?

And, Zanzibar138, how do you get your countdowns to be lined up across the page? I only have one, but you can't even see the things I have underneath it :(

There's just no 'enters' between them, only spaces, like this

Also, mine are the smaller ones so they don't take up as many lines at the top of my signature.

Belle I'm loving your pics of TDS, and that no fish smoking sign is hilarious :rotfl:

Awesome. Thank you. How did you make them smaller?

When you do the actual countdown on MickeyPath or whatever it is you can choose a small or large one - I just chose the small ones. So I'm guessing you'd have to re-do it to get a small one.

Lovely shots.

Thank you! And it was so neat and different!

We are moving to Japan in December and I am loving this report. Thanks!

Ooh! I'm jealous! After the Disney days will be all city days so hopefully you'll enjoy those too!

oops! I had no idea there was more than one girl chipmunk! My bad..that's I get for assuming. And I have no idea about the guy...I asked a CM there and that's what he said but he could have been wrong....let me go see if I can google him now....yup...looks like Frollo and nothing like Ratcliffe (guess I should've looked him up instead of just trusting the CM).

Actually, we don't get any discounts in Tokyo. Not on the resorts, tickets or merchandise. I kept trying though! I was very disappointed with that. But in HK, I got it on the room, food, merchandise and I used my main gate to get myself and 3 friends in.

Thanks!

Then we rode the Venetian Gondolas.

HPIM2521.jpg

HPIM2522.jpg

HPIM2523.jpg

We were going to watch Fantasmic but for reason it got cancelled. Thank goodness we still had the next day. We took the monorail back and at the station, we were looking at the cute buses and realized there is one that goes to our hotel. The station is right across a tiny street and it was the only stop on the bus!!! Insane! If you are familiar with WDW, it would be like taking a bus from GF over to its parking lot!

HPIM2525.jpg

HPIM2526.jpg

HPIM2527.jpg

Meredith and I ate at the sushi place in the hotel. We were trying to order the special roll and asking what was in it. They had such a hard time understanding us but we finally figured it out. There was egg, lobster, and cucumber. The pieces were HUGE. We also ordered an eel roll with yummy eel sauce. Then I ordered miso soup and they brought out 2 bowls, but Meredith doesn't like it. And she tried to order vegetables but they didn't understand her so she ordered a salad. They brought out a HUGE salad for us to share. We were worried that our dinner would cost 100 USD since just the two rolls were 4200JPY or $52.60 USD (and the coke was $9USD so I didn't order one like I always do) but our bill was somehow only 5400JPY or $68. Not bad!

Then back in the room, we started playing with the Japanese toilet. There is a bidet button and a shower button. We wanted to see what they did so we pressed buttons. They squirted water way up high. The shower button on the highest strength shot water to the ceiling! We were laughing so hard that we were crying. I wish I had taken pictures of it!

Up next...park hopper/lazy day

Belle2211, I am almost positive we are supposed to get discounts on the rooms. When going on the HUB, a link is now there for Tokyo reservations, and a CM from my previous location went a few times. Although, his son was a CM at TDL, so that may be why he got it. On the CM forum on here, a fellow CM said we do discounts on rooms as well, not tix or merchandise though :(

Oooh....Nice food porn. I love eel (unagi) sushi very much and a gondola ride is going on my list of must-do's when/if I ever get to TDL.

Oooh...That would make me sooo angry! I even emailed them through the address I found on the HUB and the response was no. Although, when I emailed, there was definitely no link for reservations...just an email address for inqueries. And several of my friends who went over the summer before we went told me the same thing. Absolutely no discounts on anything. Hopefully they've changed that now. That would be so nice! We would have stayed at a Disney hotel if we could have gotten a discount.

And I just went on the hub right now to search for reservation information and only came up with the same email address that I emailed last year.

Thanks! And I hope you get the chance to go!

I wanna stay in the Snow White room. At least one night....

We were supposed to sleep in today because we had gotten most of what we had wanted to do at each of the parks done already, but Rebecca woke up at 7:52am. Blah. So we went for a run. Cori and I ran our 3 miles. We ran between Tokyo Disney Sea and the water. Then we came back and everyone showered. We headed out. The bus was waiting there so the girls decided to take it. I told them I was taking a picture to document their laziness (and yes, I got on too) :rotfl2:

HPIM2528.jpg

We headed to Ikspiari which is a mall on the monorail route. I thought it was going to be like a Downtown Disney but it was a mall with all types of stores.

HPIM2535.jpg

We ate at their food court. I didn't know what to get so I had Vuong choose for me. She chose at Ichizen-Ya. I got some kind of grilled pork patty in a bowl. It came with soup and was really good.

HPIM2529.jpg

HPIM2530.jpg

HPIM2531.jpg

Then we headed back out to shop. I had to take a picture of the JR train line/subway lines. It looks so confusing! Fortunately we found that as long as we knew what stop we wanted to get off at, it wasn't too bad.

HPIM2532.jpg

We stopped at Bon Voyage which is like World of Disney. I got some souveneirs including a Dale mini lego set for my hubby and popcorn bucket keychain to match my real one for me. We were still sooo disappointed in the selection.

HPIM2533.jpg

HPIM2534.jpg

Then on our search for gelato, we found a real Disney Store with a waaay better selection than at the parks and since it was a real Disney Store, I got my discount there.

HPIM2541.jpg

We hit up a bathroom and found another funny sign.

HPIM2535A.jpg

We got gelato at Folletti Gerutta. I got the chocolate chip. Yum! And notice their triangle cones!

HPIM2536.jpg

HPIM2537.jpg

HPIM2538.jpg

HPIM2540.jpg

HPIM2540A.jpg

We took the monorail over to the Disneyland Hotel because I thought the wedding salon was over there, but it wasn't. It was at both of the other hotels (figures!)

HPIM2546.jpg

HPIM2547.jpg

HPIM2548.jpg

The girls headed into the Disneyland Park to watch the Star Festival Parade (which ended up cancelled again due to weather) but I wanted to look at wedding stuff. I hopped on the monorail to the Miracosta first. In the monorail station they had this cute clock that I had to snap a picture of.

HPIM2549.jpg

Up next...bridal salons!

I hopped on the monorail to the Miracosta first.

HPIM2550.jpg

The Bridal Salone was cool. There was one couple doing their planning session. The cast member let me take pictures of the things you could buy, gave me a big brochure book, and let me look into the chapel.

HPIM2559.jpg

Then I got back on the monorail to the Ambassador Hotel. I stopped at the Local Motion store to get some new shoes because my flip flops were incredibly slippery. I had been slipping all day in them. I found a black pair of shoes that were similar to crocs (which I hate) but had flowers on them, were comfy, and only $10 USD so I got them.

At the hotel.

HPIM2562.jpg

THen I headed into the Bridal Salon. The lady was really nice. She showed me where they make their dresses (she told me that the girls wear a traditional dress for the ceremony then wear a colored princess dress for the reception. So pretty & fun!) She was going to let me go into this part, but when she opened the door, there was a girl getting fitted and I didn't want to ruin her special time so I said so. The lady acted shocked and said I was so nice. :confused3 Then she let me peek in the chapel and showed me a photo album of some past weddings.

HPIM2574.jpg

Both the wedding chapels were pretty but there was no view and the one at the Ambassador hotel was really small. I like our Wedding Pavillion But there were definitely some goodies that I was very tempted to buy!

Up next...the rest of our lazy day evening

The bridal chapels and stuff look really nice. It must be a hobby of yours to go check these places out...not sure that I would have allocated time in my vacay for it.
