SHADES OF GREEN at Walt Disney World Resort Information & Questions

We just got back last night, checked in last Sunday. I had trouble connecting Sun. and part of Mon. I was getting the message that too many people were connected, try again later, with a number to call for help. I just figured the signal was overloaded and didn't call. After that, no problems at all connecting. We were in room #3153, in the new section, overlooking the golf course. We liked it because it had a balcony that could only be seen by someone on the golf course. A bit of a walk to the front desk, stores, and pools, but nice and quiet.

We were on the second floor in that area and have to agree that it was so peaceful. At night we would sit on the balcony and enjoy the peace, quiet and the dark after a day at the parks.

We were there last December and were advertising a refillable mug program. Do they still have it? Has anyone bought one? Worth it?

Seems to me if they put a refill station off the lobby - down were East Meets West was located it would be better than finding your way to a restaurant.

Another question.... anything happening with the East Meets West area?

We left SOG on Sat. I never noticed any signs for a refillable mug program. We didn't eat in the TS restaurants, so it's possible I missed it. Where were the refill stations in Dec?

The refillable mugs were at SOG in Aug when I was there. I was there the second to last week. I can't remember where I saw them in the resort, but I do remember thinking, meh not worth it. But, yes they were there.

To me it didn't seem like a deal at all, but maybe there is another type of refillable mug I'm not aware of. I called last night to reservations and made the request over the phone. They were very happy to note the reservation for me.

Are we talking about the refillable beer mugs (from Lucky's)? Cause if I understood that right, you still pay for your refills just a reduced price once the mug is purchased. To me it didn't seem like a deal at all, but maybe there is another type of refillable mug I'm not aware of. I don't think the system at SOG is anything like the Disney refillable mug system that most people are used to.

Oh I didnt realize you were talking about the Refillable mugs like at the Disney resorts. They dont have those. They have their own kind at SOG, and it only works at the resort.

Just a little excited right now.

Running around getting ready, washing, ironing, makeing last minute ADR and booking our car transportation, stopping the paper and getting our house ready for housesitter.

Me too. I wonder if that's why they named the place Shades of Green ... because those of us who aren't going any time soon turn all shades of green thinking about all of you who are.

That may be too true. I have felt a bit green for the last few months while you all have been having trips.

Well we are down to low single digets now. I will be checking in here while we are at SOG. Is there anything anyone wants me to check on while I am there? We have 5 nights so I will be happy to check out anything you may need or find anwers to any questions.

The plan is to drop by this thread hopefully once a day if the wireless is good.

The one thing I have been itching to know is what the updated test track is like. It was closed when we were there in May. Has it changed a lot? I hope not too much. Love that ride. Hi Angel, If you see any new info about the new pool rehab and the water slide can you let us know?( I am curious as to what the slide is going to be like most of all..)Also, The expansion of the store... When I was there in April the man that worked there said they were starting it any day..

Test Track isn't supposed to reopen until end of November, early December. From what I have been reading and I don't understand it all, it is being completely revamped, I really hope not, we loved that ride, just the way it was.
