We are going back to POR in Feb and I can't wait. Looking at all your photos of the resort make me wish time would fly by faster. You take very good photos.

I love the pictures of the rocks, and the ropes and such. Those are the photos that I take for my phone back grounds and such. I really enjoy them.

That is a combined family trip. Our family minus one, my BFFs daughter(to replace my minus one), my moms BFF and her grandkids, one of which is my sons BFF.

I kept telling myself that this was NOT a shopping trip, but it’s so hard at Disney!!! I only bought a new lanyard for my room key, and that was at the resort. I find it handy to keep it around my neck.

I’ll tell you, It is HARD to not shop when I’m at WDW or DL. I am not much of a shopper (I go through spurts), but I LOVE shopping at Disney.

Part 8: Volcano!

We followed the footprints to our table. I did find the restaurant really crowded. I barely had room to walk between my table and the table beside us. We were at a little two top next to a fish tank. The family next to us was friendly and we chatted with them since we were practically at the same table. I did like the restaurant though. It was a fun place. We knew what we wanted, so we ordered right away.

My top was a new one from Disneyland. They had it for sale at WDW too, and I really should have bought some other colors. I really love it!

Thanks! I try (sometimes) to think about what to take pictures of that are a little interesting. After all, the thread that brought me to the disboards is the thread about pictures the average tourist would not take!

I'm enjoying your TR we were just at Disney is August and booked another trip back but we are staying at POR next time, so I enjoyed your pictures of the resort. We also ate at RFC while there I loved seeing those pictures the only pictures I took while there was of the bar stools, they cracked me up, what a cool restaurant and that dessert was so filling the 3 of could'nt finish it. I love your pictures what type of camera do you use? Linda

Welcome! It is so fun to have people read my trip reports that I've actually met in person! And thanks, I love taking pictures, especially at Disney! Which is why it was weird I didn't take my camera to the GKTW fundraiser!

There will be TONS more pictures of POR for you, don't worry! I loved the stools at the bar! They made me laugh too! Now you have me curious, did I post pictures of them? I'll have to check!

For this trip, I had a Canon EOS 60D. It was it's first trip to Disney... I got it in July, and I hit 10,000 pictures at WDW in July!!!!

Part 9: Downtown Disney and Disney’s Days of Christmas

We perused a few shops, without buying anything (I was so proud!) before heading back to the boats to go to our resort. I wanted to get to DHS and see Fantasmic!

These always make me smile. On my first trip to DTD (with my then 12 year old nephew), we took a picture here, and I did it wrong. He teased me for a while over it. Then we got lost trying to find DisneyQuest because there were bridges that were blocked. Somehow between World of Disney and the Lego Store I kept going in and out of doors and it was pouring rain…. LOL Oh, the memories!

I liked the clouds with the silverish (not silverfish as my computer tried to fix!) lining. But they also worried me a little… they seemed to be piling up quite a bit, and we all know what that could mean at WDW in July.

I have been checking her website daily for our day to open. Actually twice a day. That way as soon as it opened I signed up for them. I really hope we get them! I went and looked again today because I applied on Friday and the dates are still listed as open, I hope that is a good sign for me.

We get so far, and we have to stop, I am assuming from the map that it was Saratoga Springs, because of the lightening that was supposedly happening. We wandered around to find their bus stop, waited for a bus to DTD, then waited for a bus at DTD, went to Typhoon Lagoon that had a massive bottleneck because it was closed from the lightening… By the time we got back to our hotel, it was around 7pm because I just went in with Blanche, left her and went to Hollywood Studios. I was on the bus by 7:20 and at DHS by 7:30ish.

Part 11: My first WDW Park in 2 years!

Blanche decided to stay at the resort and rest, and I decided to head out to Hollywood Studios. I love Fantasmic, and for 3 of my four other WDW trips, I saw Fantasmic on the first night. I wanted to do it again!

I walked through some of the stores… Like I’ve said, I love to shop at Disney. We don’t have a Disney store near here. There used to be 2 stores not TOO far away, one in New Brunswick (about 2 hours to drive there) and one in Nova Scotia (about 3.5 hours away) but they’ve both closed. So sad. So I love being at WDW or DL for shopping! I would shop on line more too, but it’s no fun when there are lots of duty and fees and such.

Oooh! You should go do some shows on your own sometime! It's really nice. I am thinking I'd like another solo trip. Maybe next summer.... I'll be going in March with my sister, her hubby and their three kids if it all works out for them, and I'll be keeping the 17 year old with me most of the time. I love him dearly, and the two little girls too, but after that, I'll want a ME trip! I'm very selfish when it comes to Disney! If it were a summer trip, I'd send them on their way and stay later! (If I could afford it I guess!)

I know I took a trip over to Moncton and Halifax before each store closed and made sure to buy tons of things to make up for the fact they were closing! I probably would have cried if it had been a PEI store.

Thanks! I love Rex with the Mickey bar too. So cute. There were a few characters with the Mickey bars if I remember correctly. It was hard not to buy them all!!!
