You Seem Taller In Your Trip Reports. A Baby at WDW - *HOLY COW! AN UPDATE!* 4/17 p26

Ryder was born back on March 29th - right smack dab in the middle of my previous Trip Report. I guess I should have had a section at the end for production babies, like Pixar does with their movies. Opps. I'm sure you can guess that this was Ryder's first trip to Disney World.

He was technically along for the last trip in October. He sure made it a different trip for me.

I would usually include fun little details here about favorite characters, rides, etc but, well, he's a baby. His favorite ride is "being carried", his favorite character is Mickey Mouse (only because that's the one all over his room and he really has no idea what it is anyway) and his favorite place to sleep is daddy's left shoulder. Yes, he's quite picky about that. It has to be daddy, and it has to be his left shoulder.

I'll give you the left shoulder but he falls asleep just fine while Mommy is holding him.

Evan is 5 and just started Kindergarten a few days ago, and like all of us (except Ryder) is a Disney World veteran. He's been there 8 times, starting when he celebrated his 1st birthday there by...napping in his stroller most of the time. But on all of the other trips, he's been active and engaging with all of the things going on around him. Yet, still, every time we enter a park, he has to grab a map. He collects them. He has a old plastic Chuck E. Cheese lunch box in his closet full of park maps - Disney World, Busch Gardens (which the kids not-so-affectionately call "Busch-Wacker Gardens"), Sea World, Gatorland, Six Flags, etc. If Walmart put out a map of their stores, Evan would have a copy in his map box.
Evan did more than sleep the first trip. He also took his first steps at the Magic Kingdom.

Maps. Maps. They are every where. Although, they make a very cheap souvenir and he is the happiest kid in the world.

Oh, and look at that. Madison is also dressed very fancy in that picture. Hmmm...I wonder why that could be? Enjoy your Beverly a little longer and all will be revealed.

If you keep mentioning Beverly I may get ill. Then you will have to take care of all three kids by yourself while I am recovering.

Bambi: A mild mannered mother of three by day, a cape-wearing protector of the innocent by...well, also by day. She's a social worker specializing in helping children and families. Also, she refuses to wear the cape. About as big a Disney fan as you'll find anywhere, which is not a good thing for our bank account because whenever either of us bring up going to Disney World, the other rarely has an argument against it.

No cape. It would give them a weapon to use against me. Both the kids and my clients.

Another trip to Disney? hmmmmm good idea. I know we have one in January and March. We have been throwing out the idea of August but we have not settled it. How about the end of October as well? Oh, and December. Oh and again in March 2014 for Ryder's 2nd birthday. Oh and again...

Why are you not fancy?

Late as usual. Going back to read now....

Love the pics of the kids. How come everyone else is fancy but you? BTW they look great all dressed up.

Woohoo trip report :) I haven't tried beverly yet I'll grab popcorn instead. popcorn::

Fellow Wisconsinite joining in! I've read all you other reports and loved them all. Your kids are adorable! Can't wait to read more.

Great intro and super cute kids! Now on with the TR. And yes I'm curious why we don't have a fancy schmancy pic of you?

Hi Barry - been waiting for your report to start. :)

So far it has been as entertaining as usual. The kids and Bambi look very nice all dressed up in your pictures. Can't wait to see more pictures of that day.

And I like the name of your report. Made me smile! ;)

Can't wait! BTW the new addition is cute as a button! Looks like a happy little guy :)

****I'm back. Great intros. I LOVE LOVE LOVE that first picture of Ryder. And Evan is my little sweet man, and Madison won my heart the moment I met her.
Thanks. All the credit for that picture goes to Bambi, she was working the camera for that photo shoot. Well, I guess I can take some credit since I was holding him. With out that, the picture would just be of him laying face down on the Boardwalk.
I know the reason for everyone but you being dolled up...I'll keep your secret, but I'll pass on the Beverly.

I can't wait for these adventures to begin.
I'll start soon! Just in time for you to leave on your own trip. :thumbsup2

What a gorgeous family, can't wait to read your trip report! *cheers* ~Rebecca :goodvibes
Thanks Rebecca!

Here too, I wonder if you meet any Canadians on this trip?
If you stop and look around - they're EVERYWHERE! :scared1:

Signing on…
Let the mayhem begin!
Commencing mayhem in 3....2....

Before I decide whether to follow this TR or not, how many puns will there be? :confused3 :rotfl:
Even I don't know that answer. As I type, they just emerge from my fingers onto the keyboard. Wait, maybe emerge isn't the right word. They just spew from my fingers. Yeah, that one sounds better. :thumbsup2

Page 1 - nice

Also interested in the Canadian content.

;)
I did meet a very nice lady and her sweet kids. Her husband kept hanging around too. :rolleyes1

:wave2: I'm in! I admit it, I fell for the cute baby picture trick.
Sucker.

Another Frozen Monkey TR.....yeah I'm a glutton for punishmen, count me in.
PUNishment? Excellent. :thumbsup2

checking in. Cute baby and cute kids got me. Barry you really do have a beautiful family.
Thank you! Sometimes I wonder if I should even bother with words or just post the pictures. But then I figured "why give the pictures away for free? Make them suffer and read your words too!"

There an a-pun-dance of them? :sad2:
FreezinRafiki Approved. +1 :thumbsup2

Dude...
Really???? :rotfl2::rotfl::lmao:
If there was a contest in my TR, Brian would be winning. ::yes::

I figured for once Barry shouldn't have the worst pun in his own TR. :lmao:

Of course now he'll try and top that one.
There are no bad puns. :thumbsup2

Ready to enjoy all the "Sommer" fun!! :cool1:
We're a pretty wiley bunch, that's for sure. :thumbsup2

I'm going to join the fun mainly to hear how your little guy fared in the crazy August heat!!! We are going in oct with our 5 and half month old and our 4 and a half yr old... Can't wait to hear all about it!!!
We had a plan to deal with the heat and it worked pretty well. Here's a preview - it involved a lot of shade and air conditioning. We've also been there one year in October when the Orlando area set both record highs and record lows just a few days apart!

OOOHhhh Everyone looks so Fancy Schmansie.
Yup, that's the way we roll.
I know the secret too but I will sit here and pretend to drink my Beverly ( shhh it is really a Mai Tai)
Of course it's not Beverly. You don't drink Beverly, you only hope to survive it.

I think you all look wonderful ( including you )
Thank you!
I am a sucker for cute kids and cute kids in dress clothes.
I don't think you're alone there!
I will try to keep up. But even so I am here.
CARL! FORE! (For any of you reading along, that might be a bit of foreshadowing. Or, I just threw a golf ball at Carl for no reason. You decide.)

I am here for the cute kids and Disney World pictures. Also looking forward to the story corrections and color commentary from Bambi (she will be helping with this one, right? :lmao: ).
I'm going to get a lot of stuff wrong, so yes, Bambi will be correcting me. I may even ask her to write a chapter or two. She'll probably say no, but I'll ask anyway.
As with all of your TRs, corny jokes will be expected (and tolerated). :rolleyes1
Corny jokes will be at a premium this year. With the drought that hung around the midwest all summer, the corny joke yields are at an all time low. I may have to substitute soybean jokes or imported Mexican corn jokes.

He was technically along for the last trip in October. He sure made it a different trip for me.
I offered to do the baby swap on the rides.

I'll give you the left shoulder but he falls asleep just fine while Mommy is holding him.
He's a snuggler, that's for sure.

Evan did more than sleep the first trip. He also took his first steps at the Magic Kingdom.
I can't think of a better place to do it.
Maps. Maps. They are every where. Although, they make a very cheap souvenir and he is the happiest kid in the world.
And cheap is good. :thumbsup2

If you keep mentioning Beverly I may get ill. Then you will have to take care of all three kids by yourself while I am recovering.
Take two Beverlies and call me in the morning.

No cape. It would give them a weapon to use against me. Both the kids and my clients.
You're starting to sound like Edna Mode.

What are you doing this afternoon?
Why are you not fancy?
I *am* fancy. I just wish I was wearing the tie with that shirt. :thumbsup2

Late as usual. Going back to read now....

Love the pics of the kids. How come everyone else is fancy but you? BTW they look great all dressed up.
Not late yet, I haven't even don the first real entry. I have some fancy pictures that I was saving for later. :cool1:

Joining in!

The kids are all sooo adorable!! :goodvibes
Thanks and Welcome to the TR!

Woohoo trip report :) I haven't tried beverly yet I'll grab popcorn instead. popcorn::
I'd try to send you some, but I'm pretty sure there are laws banning the export of that stuff as some kind of biological weapon. Trust me, stick with the popcorn.

Another Sconnie! :yay::yay:

Great intro and super cute kids! Now on with the TR. And yes I'm curious why we don't have a fancy schmancy pic of you?
Thanks! Are you saying my flowery Hawaiian shirt isn't fancy?

I though you might find the title familiar. :)

Can't wait! BTW the new addition is cute as a button! Looks like a happy little guy :)
Thanks - he is a good little baby!

Joining in on another one of your fantastic trip reports.
Welcome back!

Thank you and welcome! I can't say I'll have much done before you leave, but have fun anyway!

I had forgotten how much Evan loved maps. Any particular states he'd like to explore? Or travel to by map?
