Up from my sleep a little football than work.

I can report that the tie dye cheesecake at Pop Century is delicious!

Good choice. It goes well with their roast beef sandwich.

Two days of football are under my belt. The Gators came back and beat A&M and the Hurricanes got killed by K. State. Felt good about both results. Today the Phins played great. For a few minutes or so then got annihilated by the Texans. Looks like another long season for Dolphin fans. When does the NBA start?

No looking forward to NHL season? (besides possible lockout) Panthers looked good last season

Wow I leave for a few days and too much happens to catch up.
Well I saw some great picture of the castle with firework, great shots.
Saw some great food from up north, Mmmm...
And sorry to hear about your friend Andy, I just spent 3 hours in the ER on Friday with a friend and his wife after he had a seizure working security with my wife and his.
I hope all is well, a little over 2 weeks and I get a weekend at WDW

Hope your friend is recovering well.

Don't forget to try Sorcerers of the MK, you can get a new pack of cards every day!

I kept stealing DW's ticket to get an extra pack each day at MK even though she would never play it herself.

Yes on the divine. Do they divide the team on two fields during game or keep on one? She is just learning. Most important is to have fun and have as been touches on the ball.

first soccer game in the books. We showed up at 9AM like we were told. they started practicing at 9:15. Coach showed up around 9:25-9:30 :confused3 game started at 10am.

there are 6 teams, DD's team has about 12 kids. There were 3 games each on their own field. (regulation soccer field divided into 4 smaller fields) they decided to play 7 on 7, 3 offense, 3 defense and goalie. DD started on defense, and pretty much did nothing more than stand there and play with her pinny.

speaking of which, the league uniforms are reversible, so what's with the pinnies?? :confused3

Coach told us he'd make sure everyone played all positions and got equal time. I guess I was expecting a rotation of some sort, but it ended up being a lot more disorganized. Hopefully that will get better as the kids get gain an understanding of the flow of the game and the coaches learn the kids' names.

on offense, DD didn't touch the ball a lot. She was always trailing behind the play. She did a little better on defense. The one time she really got into it was when they made her the goalie. She had a number of chances and stopped all but one.

she seemed to enjoy it though. One of the coaches from another team was talking to the parents and said at this age it was all about learning ball control. We'll concentrate on that.

A number of these kids have been playing for a couple of years, so it will probably take DD some time to get as comfortable as they are.

thanks for the report.

I saw that. when i left home for work i checked the scores and was surprised to see the dolphins giving houston a game. Got to work and saw the score... so much for that. Sorry CJ.

At least my team won today!! Not much to do at work and I can watch any game I want. That's the one good thing about working the boring standby shift in a tv control room. It's like a sports bar, just without the booze, and noise, and stuff.

49rs Packers game is pretty good. Surprised the Pack are getting beat up like this though...

Akers FG to end the half was awesome. 63 yards, and not an inch to spare! :thumbsup2

At least they make a good effort, isn't that what they say in little leagues?

This conversation makes me incredibly sad.

Yes it was, it looked great and the bounce off the upright was suspenseful.

Are you staying at AoA?

Yes, my DD insisted on LM rooms and since the wing will be less than a month old when we are there, I said sure , next time we will prob stay a little closer to MK , but I'm excited to see AoA in person

Really? POP is the worst resort we've stayed in. The long, filled to brim bus rides and walk back to room was bad.

Got to see some of 3rd quarter on. Good game. Steelers Broncos now.

Never did try that. Sounds good.

.

I don't like to hear that at U6. We play 3v3 or 4v4 on 2 fields with that age division, with no positions. The coach may mean rotation playing time by season. I really enjoyed playing soccer and my youngest really didn't get into it until U8 when she played on all girls teams.

That game must have changed.

Good luck and have fun

Thanks. We won 3-0 and dd scored first goal of season. I refed two other games. I think I need some new shoes - my feet are killing me. But, they were some really good games. It is a big difference from U8 to U10.

Not a big fan of the NHL. Went to a few games when they played in Miami but not worth the 45 minute trip to West Broward.

Currently watching the Memories of MASH on TVLand. Loved that series. Flipping between that and Steelers/Broncos game.

Speaking of football, anyone hear from Barry? Badgers and Packers both lose. Hope he doesn't do anything drastic.
