Like the title says....warning long!

I'm finalizing my grocery lists for GG, which will be free for orders over $200, Kelly at PDS for my DD's cake and perishables, and my bring-with-us-bag because we get two free check in bags with Southwest. :thumbsup2

This is long and boring and of course no one knows what my family will eat but I need another set of eyes please.

We'll have 5 nights at the THV and 5 at AKV. They'll be 6 of us: myself, DH, 3 teens, and a tween.

We've got 9 dinner ADRs but 2 may be cancelled due to F&W noshing, most breakfasts in the villa, tri trip for dinner, pasta for dinner, lunch grilling by the pool a day, and pool/late night snacks.

Yes, I don't need to buy cuss ;) thank you! Yes, two cream cheese, one plain and one strawberry. Thank you or I would have ordered two plain. :thumbsup2

See, this is why I posted it. We would have died without our coffee. :worship:

Bolding the changes so I don't forget to change them on my lists.

In the GG items you only need item #1. Everything else is optional and unnecessary. ;)

:thanks: It didn't occur to me that the villas don't have foil,etc...do they have paper towels? If not, I need to add those too. Do the villas have any sort of Tupperware type items for storing leftovers?

Yes, salt and pepper are included in spices.

Yum, chili for the dogs, hadn't thought of it though the plan is to grill near the pool if that's feasible so chili might be hard to navigate- lol.

And we're weird plain water drinkers.

Only time I have come across Tupperware type containers in multiple years of timesharing was this summer when we stayed at the Park Plaza in Beaver Creek. They had a drawer of tupperware and a crock pot, but this place is a fractional(you get 2 winter weeks plus 4-5 float weeks).

Hello fellow "weird plain water drinker"!:rotfl2:

Good to know, thank you! :thumbsup2 I'll go one even further. We drink tap water at home. Oh yeah, I went there. I don't even like lemon in my water. I like it really cold and plain.

And this is VACATION?

:confused3 Yes, this is vacation. For me, planning makes the entire trip go more smooth. And I bug you guys instead of bugging them! All they know is they've got full bellies and a stocked fridge.

Yes to paper towels, toilet paper, dish detergent and dish washer detergent. And a sponge to wash the dishes and clean up messes.

I've never noticed any food storage containers in the villa.

I drink plain water all the time, too. I just know some people like to add the powdered drink mix to their water bottles sometimes. But then I drink the tap water, too, so I don't even need bottled water.

:thumbsup2 Thank you so much. Paper towels are a must for me. Maybe I'll pack an extra roll or two. I find myself constantly wiping counters even on vacation. I hate a sticky counter.

I've tried those water mixers with the kids and I think they like adding the powder and shaking it up more than the actual taste. :rotfl: I've raised heathens.

You guys are the best! Thank you so much for taking the time to read and respond. :goodvibes

If you need more paper towels, just ask for them. No need to bring your own.

You mention you're staying in a THV. Your tree house will have it's own BBQ grill. Do you plan to use it? Other than hotdogs & brats, I don't see a lot of BBQ-type foods. (No steak night?) Also, charcoal, lighter fluid, and matches if you do plan to grill.

I see the mini marshmallows, presumably for the hot chocolate. If I've talked you into lighting off a BBQ grill though, you may want some big ones too.

I see cookie dough! Yes! Hot cookies from the oven sounds like a great Disney treat. There is a sheet pan in the DVC kitchens, but not a cooling rack. If you have room in your kitchen suitcase, you may want to pack a small one. Also, pans aren't non-stick. You've got butter and oil on your list, but you may want to consider some Pam too.

Sugar?

Yes! Charcoal. We are grilling the tri tip prior to MNSSHP! Good eye. Thank you! :thumbsup2 Which means we'll need matches. Can I pack matches in my check in luggage? I know I can't carry them on.

Big marshmallows mean graham crackers and chocolate bars too. I like your thinking. Excellent.

Do the AKV grills need charcoal too? Wondering how big of a bag to get?

Sounds like a fabulous trip! I love BBQ tri-tip!
You've got it under control, a good amount of food, I'm sure your teens are like mine, they eat non-stop! I've given up on THV, my boys are all over 6 feet now, the bunk bed days are done!

I'm not familiar with the marinade you referenced?

I always bring lysol wipes for the counters!

Lysol wipes, good idea. :thumbsup2 Thank you, we're excited. Tri tip is my favorite. DH is an insanely good cook and I'd make him cook every night but it's his vacation too. ;) My kids are total grazers so snacks on hand are a must. Plus we've got DD's BFF so there's another teenager. My kids are pixies so I think the THV will be an option for one time. I'm only 5'1". They THV look like so much fun too. We won't have a car and that's my only concern but we'll leave lots of time to get where we need to be.

Santa Maria marinade: http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/guy-fieri/santa-maria-tri-tip-recipe/index.html

You'll flip, it's so good. If PDS can't find a butcher with the marinade, we'll bring the ingredients. It's fantastic and it'll have plenty of time to soak in as we won't grill it until our last night at the THV. :cloud9:
