The Amazing Adventures of Flat Ben and Friends: WDW, US, DCL, Mexico & More!

Is it sad that I'm jealous of the travel adventures of a piece of cardboard?

Thanks to everyone involved for bringing us this trip report! :)

Me, too!!!

This certainly looks like it has been a fun trip so far!

I'm in! He's welcome to join us in 18 days, if no one else has him then!

:welcome:

Penny was actually looking for someone who would take custody for Flat Ben. I'll PM you tomorrow (probably from BeachClubDee) to make the arrangements.

Flat Ben has a couple of other engagements for MNSSHP, but I will be sending separate FBs for that.

Wow that really is an EMPTY MainStreet.
So cute how everyone is playing along.

I know- really empty! I have never been there at pre-opening, so I'm glad Flat Ben had that opportunity.

How fun I am sitting here laughing and my family want to know what is so funny. I just told them Flat Ben...my DH said what Big Ben? What happened to Big Ben. Man needs a hearing test or maybe I am laughing too much for him to understand. :rotfl:

:yay:

So glad the report is amusing you!

"Big Ben" has had lots of fun adventures this afternoon! I'll be posting those pictures in the morning.

You know I'm loving it!

:welcome:

:goodvibes

Glad you are here to enjoy Flat Ben's adventures!

Hilarious!!

My husband and I are going on a 10 day trip at the end of the month for the food and wine - and leaving my girls at home. They are so upset with us! The F&W is their favorite time to go - and they just can't believe we'll be eating escargots without them. We have joked that they need to make flat versions of themselves and we'll bring them along. I was originally thinking that we'd just make them do drawings and put a photo face on - but I love the picture you did of Ben! Is it an 8x10 with him cut out?? I am needing some details :)

I can't wait to follow along with Ben - and let me know if he'd like to go to the f&w with us - and our two flat children!

Got to say that I'm sure Ben will enjoy this trip more in a few years when he sits down and looks back on the pictures of his surrogate taking the trip for him. I like the fact that everyone else is having fun with this too. Thanks for sharing your trip with us Ben.

Glad you are enjoying this and thinking of doing the same thing! Do you really want another "kid" tagging along on your adult trip? But Ben LOVES to eat, he would be game for some escargot. Let's talk!

I had a picture of Ben from a trip this summer to the York Zoo (York's Wild Animal Kingdom). I cropped it and printed it on card stock, 8x10 size, as you suspected. Then cut out the picture. I mailed it to Penny and she laminated him and added the stick. Great touches!

I "made" the pin lanyard. It is just a piece of ribbon held together by the pin.

Your idea with the drawings and superimposed faces is great, too.

Very cute. :).

:welcome: and Thanks!

My family finally asked why my phone keeps pinging when I get the texts with the pictures. Ben loves the pictures so far. You should have seen the smile on his face when I showed him the picture with Teena!

More coming right up!

Seriously Dee there is a not so small chance that I am going to rupture something one of these days:rotfl2: That has got to be the funniest pic I've ever seen! Love the facial expressions. Priceless!

I loved the picture of Ben totally in one of the holes at the Canada photo op site. I can barely fit my head in that thing and here he was entirely in the hole! :lmao:

I loved that pic. It totally made me laugh (well snort) out loud to see Flat Ben all alone in the totem. Love it!

Of course I can take another flat kid on my adult trip - with two already coming - what's another! Ben might like hanging out with an 11 year old and a 14 year old girl! :thumbsup2

And I adore the picture of Ben having some tequila - who knew he'd get such adventures at such a young age!

That picture with the totems in Canada is definitely a winner! Glad it made you both laugh!

OK then- I'll PM you later this morning to figure out how we want to do this. I think the original Flat Ben may be occupied during your trip, but I could either email you another copy (which you would have to print) or I could snail mail a laminated version to you. It didn't occur to me to laminate FB or attach him to a paint stirrer- That was Penny's touch!

BTW- Flat Ben can be customized, so if you have any special requests, let me know.

Yes, Flat Ben is certainly getting into some adventures that may not necessarily be "Mommy-approved". In the pictures I am about to post he is getting picked up by chicks all over Hollywood Studios!

Today, Flat Ben and Penny had some fun at Hollywood Studios:

Mom's Lunch Spot- if you are following along on MY trip report, you know this is near the little corner where I escaped the teens (and chaperones) for a lovely solo lunch. My exact spot was occupied by birds, however.

Jim & I are enjoying having Flat Ben along. He is a hit with all the ladies except one person in DD Marketplace who made us move because we were blcoking traffic. :). You would be surprised at the number of people who say to tell him hi!

I am so glad to hear you two are having fun! You are getting some really excellent photos!

The day started off kind of rough. Flat Ben was misplaced and a trip to the Lost Child station was necessary

"He is 8 inches tall, wearing a white t-shirt, khaki shorts and a deer pin and he is very, very thin. Oh, and there is a large stick attached to his but... back"

MOM!!!! Stop talking about the GIRLS!!!!!!!! You're embarrassing him!! :lmao:

I loved the lost flat Ben. AND I'm surprised the monkeys didn't grab him and run off. I'm sure he might have enjoyed that!

Penny you and Mr. Penny are doing a great job!! :grouphug:

PS. tell the girls to write their digits on the back of Flat Ben in sharpie so he can make some calls when he gets back! ;)
