I will be going to Disney in the first week of Oct. and in this trip we have booked a dinner at LeCellier. The last time I had eaten here it was only 1 table service not 2 and I really do not know if I want to use 2 on this or find something else and save that other dinner, any thoughts :confused3

LeCellier has some good recipes, but no way is a meal there worth 2 credits when compared to other 2 credit meals, like the Yachtsman Steakhouse, Flying Fish or California Grill.

My advice to you is to try and get a lunch reservation which, I believe, is 1 credit until the end of the year. The portions are a bit smaller, but you'll have the opportunity to sample their famous dishes like the cheese soup, filet, and chocolate moose.

Cheese soup can be purchased at the Food and Wine booth during OPs visit.

The big difference between Le Celleir as a 1 credit dinner and a 2 credit dinner? Price!

Service, atmosphere, food quality not at all signature.

Last time I ate there I realized that I had just had an Outback Steakhouse meal that cost $100. RIP OFF

LC is so overrated. Not worth 2 TS credits. My steak was just meh. And i didnt care for the soup. Atmosphereis nothing to write home about either. Plus the tables are too close together.

Okay thank you very much for those thoughts and I am really thinking about changing my reservation but has anyone had a good experience at LC. What are some of the better items on the menu? I really would like to go to a steak place of some kind, last time we went to a place in the yacht club and it took us like 3 hours to get done. We had to miss the Christmas carols that we really wanted to see.

I think you will feel like you get your "credits" worth at Yachtman instead of Le Cellier. The food is better, it's just a really nice experience.

I would second this. Not sure why it tok you 3 hours. I've always found the service to be acceptable.

We love Le Cellier. In fact this summer we had 2 ADRs there. We pay out of pocket and do not do the dinning plan. We had one lunch and one dinner booked. The portions are larger at dinner and you cannot get a cup of soup at dinner, they only offer bowls:confused3. I did notice that my steak was cooked better at dinner than at lunch. We got for the mushroom filet and risotto, we love it. And of course the pretzel bread. Which by the way, they will give you a take box to take the remainder home. So we get multiple servings and ask for a box.

We have decided that for next year to do Le Cellier for lunch and try Yachtsmen for dinner.

I know that people sometimes do not have the best experience here or even the best meal, its just a neat little place we love. Definately think that lunch is a better deal than dinner.

The time we went there we had a group of 10 with us and the lady waited until everyone had all or most of their food gone before we got our next dish or that's what it seemed like. It was very nice and I loved the food but maybe it was just a one-time thing. The lady was very nice and we never had an empty glass but I was really not happy how long it took.

That is very good to know thank you

We just had lunch at LC today. It was just ok, definetly not worth 2 credits. We had a bad experience here last May and DH wanted to give it another try. Today was better than May, but not what it used to be. We cancelled our ressie for later this week, we're done with it. Good luck!

I really like LC and have always had a good meal there. My favorite meal is the cheddar cheese soup, filet mignon with mushroom risotto, and the chocolate moose. The soup and filet are on both the lunch and dinner menu, so in terms of the TS credits, it's better for lunch. Very few of the Signatures (2 credit places) are actually economically good choices on the DDP because you pretty much have to order the most expensive entree and dessert to get the value of the credits. My general rule of thumb (using 2012 costs) is that the pre-tax subtotal needs to be at least $61 to justify the two credits.

I would give it another try. Likely a one time incident.

I ate there in May for dinner. I had the classic Mushroom Risotto Steak upon various recommendations. I wasn't really impressed; I didn't see what this place gave over the other table service restaurants around the world. Ate at Narcoossee's & Yachtsman, found the food here to be much better.

I don't think Le Cellier is a real signature restaurant, it's just been falsely elevated there because of hype & exclusivity due to the place being so small. I won't be eating there again.

This is only 1 of 2 meals I had on my latest vacation that I would change if given the option of a do-over.

This is what good resturants do. They serve in courses. They do not bring out ye main course while your companions are still eating thieir salad It is not suppose to be a rush the diner experience. But you can get that at Le Cellier :rotfl

I don't know if this will help, but I've been thinking of trying to dine at every restaurant at WDW...eventually. Since I've never been to Le Cellier, I figured I'd better try it now, before lunch goes up to 2 credits next year.

We ate there last year. I was so excited that I even got a dinner reservation due to the hype. We didn't have a bad experience but we didn't have a good one either. The food was ok, but my kids used two credits for spaghetti that they literally didn't eat. We vowed never to do a two credit meal again. There are so many one credit places that are excellent and underrated. Tusker house, Teppan Edo, Boma and many others. Also, I agree with the poster who mentioned F&W that will have samplers. Try them out that way, save the credits.

I guess "the lady" was your waitress? If so, she did exactly as most diners would expect. Most would not want to be hurried by having another course served before they were finished what they had.
Sorry you didn't enjoy your dinner.
