After all our recent one-meal reports, I'm so excited to be able to write a longer dining review again...this time for a full, extended, whopping TWO NIGHTS! :lmao: We both work full time and attend school full time, so we tend to split our Disney stays into several smaller trips. But THIS short stay is extra special, because we're celebrating DH's birthday!

I've never properly introduced us in one of my reviews, so I'll do that now. And hopefully I'll remember this and not repeat myself next time!

Me: B(ecky), the sweet tooth

Favorite attractions: EE, MSEP, BTMRR, ITTBAB, PeopleMover, Stormalong Bay

Since this is C's birthday trip, I really wanted to make some special ADRs. Unfortunately, the two restaurants he MOST wanted to try, Bistro de Paris and Yachtsman Steakhouse, are BOTH closed for renovations during our stay. Talk about terrible timing! We did reserve Flying Fish for the second night of our stay, but the first night, his actual birthday, was up in the air. We went through about five different ADRs for that night before settling for awhile on Kouzzina, which we've never tried. I could tell DH wasn't too excited though, and so I cancelled THAT reservation and booked what was probably in the back of DH's mind all along; Cape May Cafe. :crazy2:

If you read my May report, you'll remember that I declared Cape May Cafe the worst dinner buffet I've ever eaten at in Disney. Dinner buffets are never really my thing, but so much at CM just didn't appeal to me and none of the stuff that DID interest me was all that good, with the exception of the desserts (because I've never met a dessert I didn't like!). DH however LOVED it and I knew eating here on his birthday would make him happy. I told him about the renovation and new menu rotation and have been faking hopeful enthusiasm for our meal here, so he won't know how much I'm dreading the meal unless he lurks his way over into this thread! :lmao:

Our itinerary:

9/9/12:
Lunch: Beaches and Cream
Dinner: Cape May Cafe
Snack:Dole Whip Floats

9/10/12:
Breakfast: Captain's Grille
Lunch: Beach Club Marketplace
Dinner: Flying Fish Cafe

9/11/12:
Breakfast: Kouzzina (to make up for cancelling the dinner ADR)
Lunch: Sanaa
Snacks: Boardwalk Bakery

As you can tell, just like our last BC stay we plan on pretty much NEVER leaving the resort area. We devote all our time to Stormalong Bay, only taking breaks for meals! Our lunch plans on the last day may change, because I may have a lecture to attend that afternoon and our campus is in Tampa, an hour and a half from our house but a two hour drive from Disney! For now we're hoping on hitting Sanaa on our way home. :thumbsup2

And so....10 days to go! :yay:

Yay, Becky!!! You've started your Dining Report! :woohoo:

Count me in, of course! :thumbsup2 (Going to my list now to add the link)

Oh, and let me know if you are interested in doing any "live" reporting. ;)

I'm in!

And reports over on the main Restaurant board are that the prior rotation item has changed, both in the items and the days of the week (used to be fried shrimp, calamari, or white fish; now reports are fish has been replaced by clam strips). Will be very interested to hear what is on the buffet and whether the new rotation days are set in stone or still subject to change.

Also, whether you can score any Oreo bon-bons, since apparently the restaurant is also trying to discontinue those but at least at present is supplying them if you ask prior to check-in.

I think if I only had a few days to stay those are the exact reservations I'd make! Well, maybe not Sanaa but only because I haven't been. Hope your Cape May Cafe dinner is better this time!

Hi Becky! So excited for you two!

I love how you booked all your meals to where you are staying...we just changed our resorts around a bit for our Oct trip and the last 4 days we are staying at the YC so I had to move all my dining reservations around to accommodate our location

Believe this, I had no trouble doing it 50 days out!

Will do! :goodvibes I did my reviews in January live and it was a lot of work  and I don't think I want to lug my laptop to BC! If you're willing to receive some photo updates and do the work FOR me though, I'm all open to that! :lmao:

That's so weird about the bon-bons being available if you request them at check-in! To be honest, I wasn't really a huge fan of the bon-bons when I tried them in May. I enjoyed the strawberry cheesecake much, much more.

TY! I do as well! And I know it's rather boring to eat lunch at the same place two days in a row, but since ALL we do at this resort is swim, we simply can't deny B&C. Ice cream and pool time go hand in hand!

Joining in and looking forward to your reviews. Have a great trip!

TY so much! :goodvibes

Will be reading all about it:goodvibes

Woohoo!! :goodvibes

TY Nicki!!!! It's still so fun to have one of my dining review idols comment on my own reviews! :lmao: Well we learned from our May weekend that BC is just so relaxing and enticing we won't want to leave, so I figured I'd save us any ADR cancellations and just book everything in the immediate area! But I do kind of try to plan ADRs around resorts...like when we stay at POFQ, riding the boat from POFQ to DTD is pretty much the ONLY time I enjoy going to DTD, so we'll usually have a meal there then!

I know what you mean about ADR availability...I booked our January trip ADRs at the 180 mark, but then we wound up having to move our trip back an entire week...I just redid our ADRs last week and had NO issues anywhere! I'm really starting to think the CC guarantee thing is the best move ever!

Your favorites are mine too :)

You are a woman with exceptional taste then! :rotfl2:

Yay! I hope you have a great trip, and I can't wait for this extended review. Good luck at Cape May ;)

TY! Haha, it's sad when three days is an 'extended review'! Just watch out for October when it's bumped up to FOUR whole days! And thanks for the well wishes! I should probably stop being so negative about CM, I've always hated dinner buffets so the poor place never really stood a chance!

That works for me! :thumbsup2 I will send you a PM with my phone number. Thanks Becky! :)

I just went and read your last reviews, and they were excellent! And such great photos! Based on those I am soooo looking forward to your upcoming report, especially since DH and I will be staying at the Beach Club for the first time next month. Beaches & Cream here we come!:goodvibes

Can't wait to read your reviews. Some of these days I will have to stay at BC.....its so convenient!

:beach::beach: Hope you have a great stay at the Beach Club, Becky & Charlie!!! :beach: :beach:

Oh, and to Charlie ...

:bday:

I hope you're having a wonderful trip! I can't wait to enjoy your reviews :cool1:

Why thank you! Not quite there yet though! We're heading off probably around 10AM tomorrow. Just in time to check out our room and head to Beaches & Cream for lunch! :thumbsup2 If we can wake up tomorrow, that is! We've both been cramming some school project work in tonight, amazing how much there is to take care of before such a short, short trip!

Have a wonderful trip! And great choice starting things off with Beaches & Cream - it's hard to go wrong there. :thumbsup2

Hi Becky! Have a great trip and Happy Birthday to your husband!

Hoping you have some great dining! :thumbsup2
