Wow is the Rules Committee botching this version of the Where is Judy-do contest? Okay, I buy the shadow thing, and I at first thought the arm was Lauren's, but put too much in the very first picture where she has on long sleeves.

But I just am not buying the "reflection" of Judy in the final picture. I stared at that picture endlessly. If you mean the reflection just to the right of Lauren's arm............well, that is clearly a reflection of Lauren's arm.

And if you mean the "shadow" to the right of Lauren's head, that is very tiny, then I am wondering just how that can any more be justified as a Judy than the shadow you rejected. Since when does someone "clearly" take a picture when their arm is at the TOP of their head? The arm should be pretty much at ear level at the highest to be someone taking a picture.

Plus, if you look closely, a reflection of Judy would also include a reflection of the name of the store on the window, and would be in reverse or mirror image, but if you look closely to the very small print near the supposed Judy reflection, the writing is in the same readable order as that on the window behind Lauren.

Am I missing the supposed reflection altogether because I don't see anything that could be prohibitively taken as a sure-fire Judy................??? :confused3

I see it. In the last picture of Lauren in front of Kleinfelds, Judy's reflection is to the right. You can see she's looking at Lauren and smiling while she snaps a picture. The bent arm pic to the left, doesn't seem like Judy though.:confused3 Is that what the Rules Committee is claiming, that the bent arm is indeed Judy? I think what we need here is a Judy conference call with us and the Rules Committee together. That should shed some light on this issue.:idea:

If it's there, it's there! Maybe the picture on my computer just isn't clear enough but I'm just not seeing it. Can't see it for looking maybe? I know Glenn has the actual photo and can zoom, but if that's what it takes to make it out for sure.....????

Just like some clarification where and why after staring at it so long and not seeing anything I can justify......
 


Ooh, was that car parking place round the back of the Waldorf Astoria? I seem to remember something like that being built when we last stayed there!

And heads up, I said "yes" to my dream dress and got married 3 years ago, I think my father still winces when he thinks about writing that particular cheque.....

I don’t know why those went out of fashion. The only ones you can find now are red and white striped, at Universal.

Take a look at the price tags first. My wife bought hers on clearance from a discount rack. And she still looked amazing. :thumbsup2

I’m sure she did look amazing. And the money saved can go a long way towards other things -- honeymoon, house, etc. etc.

My wife made her dress. She wanted some specific things and found them on various dresses, but had to make her own to incorporate them all into one. After the wedding she entered it in two county fairs -- Warren, where we grew up, and York, where she worked. At the Warren Co. fair won a blue ribbon for wedding dresses and a big “Best of Show” ribbon over allllll of the crafts; at the York Co. fair won a blue ribbon for wedding dresses, beating out professional dress makers. Was I proud? Ah, yeah. Still am!

Ah, Kleinfelds! I love Say Yes to the Dress! It's so fun. Some of those bridezillas are a hoot though. And of course you have the proverbial MOH who doesn't like ANYTHING the poor bride tries on and thinks that she's the ONLY one being helpful.

I think she was holding it that way because she was doing a vertical shot rather than horizontal. And it’s a great picture, so you can’t knock Judy’s picture-taking technique.

No, it makes sense. The window is clear…if you were standing in the store, where the mirror apparently was, and looked at the window lettering, it would be in reverse. Then, it reflected off of the mirror and reaches the camera back in readable order. You’ll have to set up your own experiment to demonstrate it to yourself, but it works.

I asked Judy your question, and she’s not really sure. She said they were walking back from SoHo, they wanted to see things other than the subway walls, when they saw that parking place. I looked on Google Maps and the Waldorf Astoria is on Park Avenue, which looks to be a little further east than I’d expect them to be, walking from SoHo to the Times Square area. But with a great parking idea like that, there may be more than one!

I really must protest. Firstly, does Judy own a digital camera? If indeed it is digital, then does it have a live view finder (where you look through to take the picture?) If she does not, then she would be relying on the LCD screen to take Lauren's picture. Based on the angle of her "alleged" bent arm, how would she be able to see clearly what she was taking a picture of at that high of an angle??:confused3 Wouldn't the picture be mostly of Lauren's head only, based on the height at which Judy was holding said camera? And from previous pictures, it appears Judy and Lauren are similar in height, correct?

One day I hope he publishes what he knows and knew about what happened that day. He was on the phone and knew the Pentagon was going to be hit, prior to it occuring and that the plane in the field was going down, before it actually crashed. Anyway, where is that squirrel?

Then, it reflected off of the mirror and reaches the camera back in readable order. You’ll have to set up your own experiment to demonstrate it to yourself, but it works.

Even the zoomed in picture doesn't show any specific features that a shadow doesn't show, like color of clothes or maybe at least her glasses, the fact her top has no sleeves, or anything like that to confirm a positive ID. Just an outline, which could be someone with similar hair on the sidewalk on the other side of the store, holding their hand to their eyes to cut the glare from the window so they could see inside.

Most definitely. I still remember watching it on tv when I was 10. Even then i knew that history had been irrevocably changed by that tragic day. Only the 7/7 bombings in London and the 04 tsunami have made such a large impact on me.

The memorial is both tasteful and well designed, which is always nice to see after such a tragic event.
