where to eat in WDW for fussy eaters????

so basically apart from eating things like burgers, pizza and chicken nuggets an fries in the parks at WDW we'v always eaten at buffet style restaurants on international drive an the surroundin area. this is *** of price, convience an the choice of food for me an my mum who r both very fussy eaters. The rest of our group r

So we'r looking for somewhere in WDW to have a nice family meal on my wedding night. Preferably i wanna find somewhere where we'l both hav a choice of what we want to eat instead of finding somewhere where theres only one thing i like on the menu so i'm stuck wi that 1 meal basically.

We both like steak (but dont like any sauces really so unless chefs r willin to cook an serve the sauce seperate we wont order it)
neither of us like fish or any type of seafood
neither of us like chinese, thai, indian, or sushi food
We both like chicken (but again not keen on sauces bar gravy)
I like pizza (altho not for my wedding day) and pasta but my mum doesnt like either.
theres probably more dislikes i just cant think of any right now!

so does anyone have any restaurants they suggest or r we officially too fussy??????????

You need to look at the restaurant menus. Just remember that the restaurants are more than willing to work with you. If you don't want a sauce on your chicken, just tell them and they will omit it. They want you to be happy with what you get.

I thought my DH was the only one that ate like that!! We went to places like Mama Melrose, Coral Reef, Plaza, Chef Mickeys -- and there was something at all those places he could eat. He was worried if it was a 'seafood' type place that the steak would be bad and was happy to see that wasn't the case.

Here's a list of ALL WDW restaurants and their menus -- DH made a list of all places where he felt he could get something to eat.

My thinking for you, on your special night, is Yachtsman Steakhouse. It's pricy (a filet meal will run you $40), but it is without a doubt the best piece of meat I've put in my mouth! Check out their menu HERE.I've found that ALL Disney restaurants WILL work with you, removing sauces, substituting sides, whatever you request - they were so nice!

With that said, I have found that most restaurants at Disney work with us Officially Fussy Folks (of which me and hubby are card-carrying members!) Look at all the menus with an eye for breaking down the description. For instance, at YS, they have the following: NY Strip Steak - 12 oz with peppercorn brandy sauce and Carmody Potato Gratin - $44.00 This means that you get a strip steak, sauce, and potatoes. Don't like gratin potatoes? Substitute the Smoked Paprika fries from another entree. Ask for your sauce on the side, or even no sauce at all. You will end up with a plate with a steak and a small plate of fries. Voila! Fussy eating at it's best!

You are not too fussy IMO! I could have written this! I am very fussy too. I like the chicken at CR. Minus the sauce and sub mashed potato for the spaetzle. I like the rib eye at Kona, again no sauce. R+C used to have cornish hen that I liked, no sauce, but I think it has been taken off the menu. DS got steak w/o sauce there so I can say they will leave it off if you ask. Chefs put the sauce on the side for DS last time he was there. Like the Big River chicken with the cherry sauce on the side. I would stay away from signatures other than YS or LC. As you can tell there are a lot of places for people like 'us'!!

There are plenty of places, though someplace like Ohana, the Yachatsman, or even he Garden Grill (if you want characters in a park for your wedding dinner!) will be able to easily accommodate you. There are a couple of semi-picky eaters in my family, and we've never had a problem asking for a meal to be simplified. Even the California Grill has a simple item available if you ask (the time we asked it was a plain sirloin).

Check the menus at someplace like Allears.net and you'll likely find several locations that will work.

The food is made to order, so you shouldn't have a problem asking for things "plain." I think the only things that tend to be pre-made are desserts.

I'm a picky eater, and I've never had a finding something from the menu I'll eat at over a dozen places on the property. Every menu (even the seafood places) pretty much has some version of steak or chicken.

I recommend going to the "Dining" tab at the top of this page, and looking at the menus. I'm sure you'll find somewhere everyone can live with.

Between DGF's allergies, my allergies, and the fact that I am the pickiest, most difficult person to get to eat anything, we have found that Disney restaurants are more than happy to accommodate pickiness. Just avoid ethnic food places!

thats great they'l accomodate us, we liked the idea of doin the dinner show at the poly resort for our wedding evening but when i looked at the menu neither of us would'v had a good meal i'l have 2 stick 2 american style places i think!

will check those 3, out i'v heard the garden grill is nice its buffet food someone on the boards said it was goofy an some other character that was gonna b at garden grove its rarely mickey or minnie (if i'm gonna b character dining i want mickey an minnie lol-the fussiness continues lol) allears has been mentioned by a couple people so i'l def visit it see wwhat the menus look like.

I'm glad there are other fussy people out there! i'm used to asking for stuff on the side or swappin stuff etc most restaurants at home will do it i was jus worried that disney might not b so accomodating. Yachtmans stakehouse has been suggested by a few people now so thats sounding good. Expensive but for our wedding night i suppose we could splash out lol. Glad disney r so accomodating a plate wi steak an small plate of fries on the side sounds perfect for me!!!! an i'm weird that if i get a sauce an they put it on the side i'l prob use it to dip my chips into if i like the sauce an eat the steak plain or jus not eat the sauce at all lol

Never heard of mama melrose or coral reef or plaza so will need to check their menus out! chef mickey's was somewhere we were considerin mainly *** its american style buffet an charaters lol just trying to decide if its not fancy enough for our wedding night dinner tho! i'm no a fancy or posh person who dresses up, i even feel the grand floridian is a hotel i'd feel out of place in on a normal day, altho i feel like chef mickeys is somewhere u can go in shorts an a vest top an i'm worried we'l b overdressed in wedding attire at chef mickeys. theres so much to consider think i overanalysis lol! Thats good to know thats part of why i took this question to the boards *** all you lovely people have experience of how accomodating disney is! without u all i'd worry that when i got there they'd not b able to serve somethin how i like it! will check all the menus out

Now i have somethin to do this weekend, look thro an compare all the menus again thanks for the suggestions of specific places an dishes an its good to see we really r not the only fussy people around! you'v all set my mind at rest
