We stayed CL and it was nice but the evening it was CRAZY busy and apparently there was some food hoarding. We were not there every night but I only experienced the mad rush for food one night and it was not a pretty sight :sad2:

We were there at the same time and experienced the madness. Many nights I peeked in and saw the crazy and just made a mad dash for my punch and left immediately. Especially sushi night :scared1: I ended up just going to CCs for sushi roll to avoid the lounge :confused3

TBH it turned me off of CL in general, although I doubt I'll be able to resist upgrading as future trips approach.

Hi Poly friends!

Officially 3 days until our first ever trip to the Poly! (3rd WDW trip for us!) :cool1:

Have a great trip.....you're going to love the Poly :goodvibes.

Just got back and all our requests were met. Have an amazing time and can't wait to go back!

Glad you had a great time :).

19 days to go!!!:cool1::banana::yay::woohoo:

We can hardly wait to arrive! :cool1:

21 for us!! Right behind ya!

34 for me!!!! :cool1: Following on your heels! :cool1: Can't wait, it's my first time staying POLY Club Level!! :)

Hope you all have great trips and enjoy the Poly :yay:.

Aloha all! :wave2:

It has been crazy busy since we have arrived home on Tuesday. I am in the process of uploading our pics on photobucket from our two cameras and two iphones

We had a great stay at the Poly and a good trip. We saw a lot in our five days and spent plenty of time relaxing at the resort :thumbsup2 I will elaborate more in my TR but I am thinking DD has outgrown Disney with just Mom and Dad. While we do not get the sibling banter with an only child...one of us always has to ride the rides which I am cool with but while she could go all day and all night, we could not nor did we want to. This caused a few pouting moments. So I think our next trip we may have to bring her cousin.

We did get lots of Pixie dust pixiedust: And we also did a lot of paying it forward...which I will elaborate more on in my TR. popcorn:: Our room was in great condition. The hallways in Hawaii look great. The one thing that I did notice in the lobby is that they have these crazy plastic flowers in the foliage and it looks horrible. I went back and looked at my old pics and these so called flowering plants are new and don't look real at all.

While I mostly had contact with the CL CMs they were all awesome. The only problem we had was with a host at Kona who needs to go back to Disney School as he was absolutely the most rudest cast member I have ever encountered in all our trips.

The GF construction is a bit of an eyesore but it is what it is. I will miss that beautiful view of the GF, especially at night. I hope they do it justice and restore it once the construction is done :worried:

I am so happy we got to go and while I was not used to the crowds we still made great use of our time. I would go in late August again with a bit more planning but I am not sure about staying CL during such a bust time as we did not make use of the lounge and food offerings as much as our past trips due to various reasons.

Well, off to get ready for DDs Soccer tournament all weekend! I will hopefully start the TR tonight if I can!

I am excited for all of you going soon! The Poly is as beautiful as ever!

Happy Planning :wizard:

Glad you had a good time :). Looking forward to your TR as we are booked at the Poly in July 2013 and although we have stayed there before, we are trying CL this time around and we are so excited :dance3:.

In 17 hours, I'm going walk into the GCH, drop my bags, open my arms, and take a DEEP BREATH full of that Poly air! :dancer:

Isaac will not dampen our trip! I have been looking forward to this all summer!! :woohoo:

I'm suffering massive Polysomnia. We leave in 1 hour for the airport and I haven't slept at all tonight. I can't sleep. I got a 2 hour nap today but .... I'm just not tired. :crazy2:

Hoping to catch an hour of zzzs on the flight to MCO and maybe a cat nap once we get settled in my room.

Is it just me? I don't know if I'm excited, or nervous (darn you Isaac), or stressed... I just know that it's not good to be traveling with little sleep. :headache:

I was just making ADRs for my next trip this morning, and couldn't sleep because of it! I am totally with you on the vacation stress = little sleep right before you leave.

Excited about going, nervous about forgetting something... it all adds up and makes it hard to just turn off and relax.

I have to work this morning- so at least you are going to be on a plane! Have a magical trip!

Good Morning everyone!

Well, I think as of yesterday I finally have my family convinced to give Poly a try for our 2013 trip. We are a YC/BC family, and love it there, but sometimes you just want to have a different experience (if that makes any sense!)

We know NOTHING about this resort, except that after having dinner at Kona in May we all commented on how beautiful the resort was.

Is there anything I need to know about construction planned for anytime in 2013? Are certain longhouses better than others? How is the pool during busy periods? Is getting from your room to monorail easy? It looks like the resort is very spread out, but that could just be because I've never walked around it.

We're a Poly family who considers the BC our "beach home." ;) The location of the Poly can't be beat! Easy access to two parks via monorail (which is super easy to hop from your room either at the TTC or in the GCH depending on location) and a couple options for MK. I think the dining options here are fantastic, with others just a monorail ride away.
The pool is smaller, especially when compared to SAB, so it can "fill up" hast, but depending on when we've traveled, it hasn't been too bad. We're normally October and December travelers.
The resort does look a little spread out, but I feel it's a lot more convenient than those neverending hallways of the YC/BC. At least you can take shortcuts at the Poly. :thumbsup2
Be sure to reserve one night to hang out on the beach and watch the EWP and Wishes!!

Aloha from the Poly! Lack of sleep didn't damper my spirit! Winds from Isaac are picking up! The bamboos next to our Fiji long house are literally bending over sideways - but no rain. Check in was a breeze and our room was ready at 11:00 and Garden Grocers arrived. Settled in, sipping coffee on the landing and getting ready to venture to MK!

Another aloha from paradise. Yes even with the intermittent sprinkles from Isaac it's still heavenly here on the balcony at Tokelau (third floor, mid-building quiet pool side). View of the castle to the right, room in great shape. One little towel puppy in the bathroom as well as the usual Mickey on the bed, bounceback for free dining 2013 on desk. So much bigger than our akv studio. Liked akv Jambo a lot, but I'm a Poly gal at heart. Blessed to be "home" at last! Got a lot of fun in this a.m. at the mk. Weather was fine, crowds low. Hope we don't get any big rain but we'll be okay if we do.

Congrats on getting agreement for the Poly for next year :goodvibes. We've stayed at the BC and had a great time and loved the resort, but once we stayed at the Poly, we knew we found our "home". The BC is great and SAB is nice, but we loved everything about the Poly the minute we checked in. The rooms are larger than at the BC, the volcano pool is great as it backs up to the beach with a distant view of the castle, Captain Cooks is great for quick CS meals, and the beach is awesome for relaxing and watching the fireworks :cloud9:. It's very convenient being just 2 monorail stops from MK and within walking distance to the TTC to catch the Epcot monorail. We also love the convenience of being so close to the GF and CR where there are a variety of dining options. I think construction is scheduled to be completed sometime in July 2013, although that is always subject to change. Some longhouses are more convenient to things than others, but we stayed in Samoa and loved the location as it was just steps from the GCH, volcano & quiet pools, the beach, and Captain Cooks. If we weren't giving CL a try next summer, my first request would be to stay in Samoa again ;). The resort seems spread out, but we didn't find it be that way. Everything seemed to be convenient and we didn't think it took long to walk anywhere on the Poly grounds.

Haha!! DD and I got lost 3 times last trip trying to get from our room to the laundry and back!

I do love the idea of having different dining options than Epcot (which is where we usually head each night).

Can you fill me in on what type of construction will be going on?

Is there a Bad Longhouse? Trying to decide if I would prefer one close to GCH or to TTC???

Check out tikimanpages.com website. Lots of good poly info including info/rumors about the construction in 2013 and info on the different longhouses.

I don't know too much about the construction other than the rooms being redone, with it supposedly starting this fall (Oct/Nov) and the CL (Hawaii) building being done in Jan/Feb, with completion being sometime in July 2013. I think I read the GCH was going to be done as well, but I'm not certain about that. The pp has a good suggetion to look at tiki man's website as that's usually pretty informative :).

We wanted to be close to the volcano pool so I requested Samoa and I fell in love with that building as it turned out to be close to everything else as well (GCH, beach, & Captain Cooks). With that said, I think we'd be happy in any longhouse as we love the Poly and everything it has to offer ;).

To those of you there now... Hope Isaac is as kind as the bartender from the Love Boat!
Enjoy! We are looking forward to next year at this time!
Best!!

I love that :thumbsup2...we aren't there now, but will be checking in on Tuesday. I am just hoping we won't be bouncing around the plane too much due to turbulence :scared1:...I don't do very well with flying as it is and to know that we may be flying over it doesn't sit pretty with me. Oh well, the good thing about it all, when we do fly, it's because we are on our way to Disney :goodvibes.

I am the same way...those big drops from the turbulence scare me soooo much, and I try not to show it to the kids. I think our last flight coming into Orlando I actually cried out loud because it scared me so much!!:confused3

WooHoooo!

Just got 30% off GVCL for our vacation. Also 15% off AOA for our first two days-gives the kids a little over-the-top theming to kick it off. I'm only a little disappointed because I was hoping to stay at POR those two days, but no AB rooms available with the discount. Oh well, the kids will love their Cars suite. Hopefully , the kids won't whine about leaving Cars and DH and I won't miss our own bedroom once we move to the Poly...we won't, right? :rotfl:
