Does anyone know if there is one? I'm trying to get my ducks in a row cause our trip is approaching fast and I'm beginning to panic about having desserts for my 3yo. I just really hoping there are plenty of options in the way of desserts for him other than EL cookies. He eats those all the time at home :worried:

The only non-dairy ice creams that I know that WDW has and that I routinely get are Rice Dream and Tofutti. However, Tofutti has soy protein in it and Rice Dream has soy lecithin which I know some people with soy problems cannot handle.

I often get sorbets a lot at restaurants, which are yummy. I'm not sure if the frozen treat kiosks treats like Nestle Triple Blast and the Pineapple and strawberry bars are soy free (they are dairy free to my most recent knowledge), but that might also be another option.

Hope that helps! Have a wonderful time. Some of the chefs at WDW can get very creative when it comes to allergy friendly desserts; my friend who is gluten/dairy/soy free got the most wild Popsicle sundae at Ohana!

My son can have Rice Dream with soy lechitin but not Tofutti. Is the Rice Dream widely available? Almost all of our meals will be CS. What about the Dole Whip? I'm confused about those things. thanks!

Rice Dream is not very common at CS. It's mostly TS that I've seen it offered. The ice cream parlor in MK may have it. Dole Whip is not dairy free; it does contain casein but not lactose.

Thanks. Bummer on both of those :(

Yeah I don't know of any QS off the top of my head that have Rice Dream. Most have Tofutti. I know the Fountainview Cafe at Epcot has Tofutti--the only one I could guess might have it is Main Street Bakery Ice Cream Parlor. And no unfortunately Dole Whips are not dairy free. As PP said, lactose free, but not dairy free. Bummer!

I'm pretty sure the Ice Cream Parlor on Main St in MK offers both Soy and Rice Ice Cream. I'm pretty sure it's posted on the big sign.

One thing I've done is brought along homemade Mickey-shaped rice krispie treats with the ears dipped in chocolate. I packed some with my Food Saver, but it broke before I finished and I had some wrapped in saran wrap in a ziploc baggie. They all kept pretty well the whole week, a little blooming of the chocolate by the end of the week, but still very edible. It was easy to carry one in my bag and have on hand in case we couldn't find a treat for my DS. They were a big hit. Can you make those with a DFSF margarine or shortening? (We aren't soy free.)

Thank you for sharing that! Do you think I could make them with coconut oil? That is my butter sub. What chocolate do you use to dip them in? My ds can handle soy lechitin.

I think coconut oil might work. It only takes a couple tablespoons to a bag of marshmallows. Earth Balance also makes a DF and SF "butter" if you can get that. I use a local store brand of chocolate chips that are dairy free with soy lecithin. They are Shop Rite brand. They are the only ones I can find that are safe for my DS other than the allergy brands. Enjoy Life chocolate chips are definitely dairy free and soy free. If you add a small dab of whatever "butter" you use to the melted chocolate it will help slow the blooming process. I got a Mickey cutter off Amazon.

Oh my, those are so cute!! I'm definitely gonna make him some before we leave. I need to order those cutters cause we leave in 18 days! I have some store brand choc. chips that he is able to eat also so good to hear those melt ok. I cannot wait to try these. Thanks for sharing

Oh, those treats are adorable! My son will only be 21 months when we go on our trip. Thankfully he has outgrown his strict dairy intolerance, but he still can't handle straight dairy, so while I think I could eat a dole whip and us be okay (I'm nursing), I doubt he could. I don't want him to be sad while the other kids and I are enjoying a treat! But I think he will find something like those rice krispie treats a good trade off :)

Wendow and munchkinsmomma24, have you considered taking your DSs to Babycakes? They have a good selection of cookies, brownies, cupcakes, and doughnuts that are dairy/soy free. You may even be able to find their products in the resort CS.

I have and we are :hyper: Babycakes is actually the first place we are going after we get checked in to our resort. I just know he will feel somewhat left out b/c of all the special treats within the parks. Especially ice cream. He can't even have a Dole Whip. I am very excited to be able to take him to Babycakes though!

The Main Street Ice Cream Parlor has rasberry sorbet that is dairy/soy (and nut/egg;)) free. DS was so excited to get "ice cream" from a store.

For chocolate chips, we have previously used the ELF brand. I recently found "Baker's Chocolate Chunks" at our grocery store, which is much cheaper than the ELF brand. They do have soy lecithin in them, but no other soy or dairy.

Babycakes was a fun place for DS to visit. He had his first non-homemade donut ever. There was a ton to choose from--for a kid that had never been able to choose something from a bakery. There is a pic on one of the threads. He was so happy!:lovestruc

Oh good to know on the sorbet! He'll like that :) So, so excited for my little guy to be able to choose anything out of a bakery counter! He has never had anything like that either other than my attempts at donuts here at home which have tasted much more like cake than donuts.

Here is DS with his Babycakes donut. He and DD also chose treats (muffins and muffin tops) to take back to the resort with us. Babycakes packaged them up in a to go box and kept them in their fridge until we were ready to leave Downtown Disney, since it was 90 degrees and the icing would've melted. They also gave him an "I ate my first dessert at babycakes" pin to wear. ;)

Oh my, what a cutie!! And how happy he looks with that donut! I love it!! That seriously brings tears to my eyes just seeing that boy with a big smile all over a donut :cloud9:

My DD is dairy free and the first trip we discovered they had great fun ice pops at most carts. next we found the Tofutti and I believe Rice Dream on Main St in MK. Next, we found the lists that are at every Counter Service Restaurant with all the great dairy free products and snacks (brownies, cookies, etc). And a chef at every table sevice made a special dessert for her at every meal.

Certain CS have certain foods, others do not. The place near Tower of Terror in HS was our go to place for Dairy Free and Columbia Harbor House in MK.

Have fun!
