We have booked a TPV room at the Poly for11 nights from 27 Nov to 8 Dec. we have requested for Tahiti. May I know if we will be able to see the EWP from our balcony? I understand that from Tahiti, the castle can only be viewed across an island. I'm wondering if the island will block our view of the EWP. If that is the case, then Tahiti may not be a good choice after all. Any info from anyone will be appreciated.

The EWP plays right off of the Polynesian's beach, so you should have no problems, with the exception of maybe a tree on the beach blocking your view. But, if you have a TPV room, that shouldn't be a problem. I know that in the Hawaii Longhouse if there is a tree obstructing the view it's considered LV and not TPV.

Hi Poly friends!

Officially 3 days until our first ever trip to the Poly! (3rd WDW trip for us!) :cool1:

Does anyone know if they serve Kona Press Pot coffee as a room service option? Trying to think of a way to get this delicious coffee in the morning to sip on while getting ready without sitting down at Kona Cafe. (I've read that the Kona coffee they use at the Kona Island is actually a "blend" and not the real thing). My hubby and I LOVE :lovestruc our press pot and it's a morning tradition for us. Would like to bring this little home tradition with us during our stay. :)

We are really looking forward to being able to see the fireworks and EWP from our room! :)

You will love it!!! My husband and I stayed there for the 1st time two years ago and have been hooked ever since! I'm not sure if they have the press pot as a room service option but it doesn't hurt to ask. You are correct about Kona Island serving a Kona Blend, it's still good, just not as good as the 100% Kona.

Aloha all! :wave2:

It has been crazy busy since we have arrived home on Tuesday. I am in the process of uploading our pics on photobucket from our two cameras and two iphones

We had a great stay at the Poly and a good trip. We saw a lot in our five days and spent plenty of time relaxing at the resort :thumbsup2 I will elaborate more in my TR but I am thinking DD has outgrown Disney with just Mom and Dad. While we do not get the sibling banter with an only child...one of us always has to ride the rides which I am cool with but while she could go all day and all night, we could not nor did we want to. This caused a few pouting moments. So I think our next trip we may have to bring her cousin.

We stayed CL and it was nice but the evening it was CRAZY busy and apparently there was some food hoarding. We were not there every night but I only experienced the mad rush for food one night and it was not a pretty sight :sad2:

We did get lots of Pixie dust pixiedust: And we also did a lot of paying it forward...which I will elaborate more on in my TR. popcorn:: Our room was in great condition. The hallways in Hawaii look great. The one thing that I did notice in the lobby is that they have these crazy plastic flowers in the foliage and it looks horrible. I went back and looked at my old pics and these so called flowering plants are new and don't look real at all.

While I mostly had contact with the CL CMs they were all awesome. The only problem we had was with a host at Kona who needs to go back to Disney School as he was absolutely the most rudest cast member I have ever encountered in all our trips.

The GF construction is a bit of an eyesore but it is what it is. I will miss that beautiful view of the GF, especially at night. I hope they do it justice and restore it once the construction is done :worried:

I am so happy we got to go and while I was not used to the crowds we still made great use of our time. I would go in late August again with a bit more planning but I am not sure about staying CL during such a bust time as we did not make use of the lounge and food offerings as much as our past trips due to various reasons.

Well, off to get ready for DDs Soccer tournament all weekend! I will hopefully start the TR tonight if I can!

I am excited for all of you going soon! The Poly is as beautiful as ever!

Happy Planning :wizard:

Hello everyone-
I'm new to the boards, obviously by all of the following questions. I just booked for March 2013 to stay at the Poly. It will be the first trip for me, DH, DS1 (9), DS2 (9) and DD (5). We are excited. I have booked a garden view for now, room only because there are so many options! We would love a balcony. Can anyone give me advice on which buildings to request and what is the best way to request? I am a total newbie! Also, would you upgrade to a lagoon view given the price......I just want the wow factor of our vacation and its so hard my head is spinning with information! Any advice on buildings, rooms, views is so appreciated! Thank you so much!

:cool1:

For a balcony.. request the third floor

I don't know if you all heard that scream but that was me after sitting here at my computer for the last 90 minutes working on my TR and my computer just shut off on me.:scared1:

I am so bummed as I was almost finished with the first post. Literally getting reading to submit it! UGH!

I guess I will have to restart again tomorrow

Note to self....cut and past onto word doc next time :thumbsup2

Good night everyone!

Good night everyone!

That is the worst!!! I always write in Word first, then paste it to the DIS. I have had one too many mishaps with the DIS screwing up my post and poofing it.

I'm glad you had a great trip. We had so many great experiences with the CMs that I wrote an email when we got home praising the shining stars of our trip. Today as I was leaving BJs I got a call from guest relations to let me know they appreciated my email and that each CM I wrote about will get recognition for their service and it will be noted in their file. I was so happy to hear this!

Welcome Back!!! I've been off for awhile. Not sure if it has been to much Disney or sadness from not knowing when we will be back or if it will be the Poly again. I can't wait to hear how your trip went, but I'm not a fan of the smaller trips. When we did it in October I started to think about all of the things we did miss, but we had some AWFUL weather.

Good night everyone!

Odd, my computer has been doing the same thing--hard stops while online and on the DIS. . . I had the computer in for repair last weekend and they blamed it on a virus. I am doubtful there was a virus because it had been checked by the IT department and nothing was found. This morning, once again, it shut down while I was reading your post. :furious:
