:welcome: DISers! I'm a long time lurker. I only recently starting posting when I finally had a trip to plan. Today is exactly 100 days before my husband and I check in at POR for our anniversary trip, so I thought it would be a good day to start a PDR. We'll be spending Nov. 25-27 at Universal before spending 11 days at Disney. We got free dining at POR and decided to upgrade to DxDP.

This is us on our wedding day:

I'm Jess, a 26 year old medical student. I'll try just about any kind of food, except seafood. My favorite food is either chicken or chocolate. I have a major sweet tooth.

My husband is Pete. He's a 25 year old computer programmer. He is an even more adventurous eater than myself, and he loves seafood. He has never been to Disney World, and had no interest in it until he saw pictures of the food.

As I haven't been to Disney in nearly a decade, and my husband has never been, I'd love to hear your thoughts, opinions, and recommendations on restaurants, parks, and everything in between!

Again, :welcome:

ADRs will be in the next post.

We have several places open, and I'm thinking about leaving them open to just get CS when we feel like it. We won't be losing money since we upgraded from free dining, and we won't be so completely tied down with ADRs.

You guys are so cute! We're supposed to be at POFQ the same time.

:welcome:

We almost ended up staying at POFQ. We originally wanted to stay there, but when free dining came out there was nothing available. I checked every day, and after about 2 weeks there was an opening. I switched, and then DH said, "Why'd you do that? I decided I want to stay at POR more than POFQ. Didn't I tell you?" So I changed back to POR.

I finally managed to snag a Be Our Guest ADR after 2 hours of getting a busy signal. It's at 4 pm the night that DH and I are going to MVMCP. :goodvibes

Hi Jess! I'm really looking forward to reading your reviews. :thumbsup2 How exciting to be introducing your DH to all the magic of WDW! :goodvibes Oh, and I hope you don't mind that I've added you to my UPCOMING TRIP LIST.

Your plans look great! Cant wait for your review of BOG :goodvibes

:welcome: I'm really looking forward to BOG, and the time works out perfectly before MVMCP.

I followed along with your dining report, but never posted anything, because I started reading it when you were over halfway done with it. I really enjoyed your reviews!

Thanks for adding me to the upcoming trip list. The list was a great idea. I'm glad to have a few more reports to read before I get to go back to Disney.

Good for you, getting BOG! I got mine this morning, automated computer took it. Later this afternoon I read on the Disney Blog that there was a glitch since the automated system neglected to take my credit card to hold it and all reservations are to be cancelled tonight!

You might want to call back and attach your cc number, if you havent already

I think you plans look great! Congrats on getting BOG! :thumbsup2

Thanks! It was an ordeal to get that ADR this morning. I hope it was all worth it.

I got my cc attached earlier. That was harder for me than getting the ADR in the first place. I had to talk to 4 different CM's before one was willing to add my cc.

Yay for Be Our Guest! Hopefully the food quality will live up to the seemingly incredible atmosphere. And even though you haven't been to WDW in nearly a decade, I think you've done a great job making some impressive ADRs. :thumbsup2

You have some great places lined up, sounds like you'll have an awesome trip!

:welcome: I'm looking forward to Be Our Guest, and I'm trying to set reasonable expectations. But after calling close to 200 times yesterday, it's hard to set low expectations. :rotfl2:

:welcome: I'm pretty excited to finally get back to Disney after so long. All the ADRs are just an added bonus. :)

Because lots of people managed to snag Be Our Guest ADRs, lots of people cancelled other ADRs. I managed to get an earlier time for 'Ohana. I dropped Cape May for dinner and moved Whispering Canyon Cafe into its place. I added a couple of ADRs to surprise Pete. He's always wanted to go to a hibachi restaurant, so I added Teppan Edo. I also added Sanaa.

Hopefully I leave my ADRs alone now, but the chances of that happening seem small. :lmao:

Eating three meals at Disney on Deluxe can be a lot. Have you considered trying some of the Signature Restaurants? They have some delicious options!

I hope you enjoy your trip! The only reason I get hubby to go to WDW is for the food as well!

I have to agree with the above poster. It seems like you will spend most of your time getting to and from your ADRs instead of actually enjoying the parks and such. I would suggest using snacks for breakfast, a sit down lunch @ one of the parks, and then a later signature resturant dinner. Unless you are planning on hitting the parks later in the day, then you could do something like a sit down breakfast, snacks for lunch, and a signature resturant for dinner.

I know that it's a lot of food, but that's just part of the way that we wanted to do our vacation. We'll probably never go with DxDP again (and only did it this time because it was so cheap to upgrade from the free DDP). Our breakfast ADRs are at 7:30/8:00 am. Lunch is usually set for 12:30/1:00. Dinner is usually at 7:30 pm or later. We will also have our car with us, so we won't have to rely on Disney transportation. DH and I both know that it will be a lot of food, but we also decided that this is probably what will work best with what we want out of our vacation. :)

Where's the fun in that?!:rotfl2:

Yes, DXDP is a whole lot of food. We basically didn't eat it all but we did get to try a bunch of different things that we wouldn't have. We'd never get our own appetizers or desserts if not on DXDP, which always means I don't get to try the ones I want! I think you'll enjoy it! Plus I like knowing it's all paid for - except for the tips!!

Hello! We will be there during your stay, at a POR-Royal Guest Room as well! We'll be there Nov 29th-Dec 8th! Maybe we'll run into one another! Your ADR's look great :):thumbsup2
