Un-Tangled-Getting My Life Back....PTR!! TR Started! 5/30

And this last weekend and this week have been about school shopping and getting her packed for her summer trip to visit her grandparents. :cheer2:

:dance3: A little break for Mama!! :dance3:

:cool1::woohoo:

Maybe some of you parents of older kids will understand this....

I have now officially become the dumbest person to walk this earth! That's right folks you heard it here first! :mic:
Hear ye! Hear ye!! The last 41 years of my life have accounted for ZIP! ZILCH! NA-DA!
Apparently, it's a friggin miracle that I can walk and talk on my own let alone breath without some sort of apparatus to help aid me in doing so! :crazy2: :rotfl:

Maybe a quote from the movie 3:10 to Yuma will help:

"Even bad men love their mommas."

they had a blast at the fair checking out the animals...im going back with them later this week to see more
:thumbsup2

:thumbsup2 :goodvibes Take lots of pictures of those babies!! I want to see them! :)
:cool1::woohoo:

Yes! One down, and one more to go!! :dance3: Does that make me a bad mom? :confused3 :rotfl:

I sure as heck hope so!! Cause he's sure not acting like it. :sad2:
I love that kid, I really do, but dang! He's wearin me out! I do not wish these moments on anyone. But, these are the moments that will make future moments of victory, that much sweeter. :goodvibes

Ahhhh...thank you for showing me what I have to look forward to with the kiddos. :rotfl2: I'm still very happy my little ones are 9 and 6, although they certainly have their moments (especially with the 6-year-old who thinks she's 13).

Happy dance for 9 more months until your trip! :cool1:

Hellooooo My DIS Brothers and Sisters! :yay:

This is Day 2 and it's our first official park day!!!

According to my sources it's a "go" to go to MK, DHS or AK on this day. Sooo where do you have it planned to go to today?

MAGIC KINGDOM!!
magic-kingdom-castle.jpg

My laughing place. My magic. My getting to be a kid with reckless abandon, all rolled up into one! :goodvibes
It's Mackie's favorite park too so it's good we're starting out our trip in our favorite park. :lovestruc

We'll more than likely start out our morning early enough to make rope drop and hopefully early enough to miss the crowds on the bus <fingers crossed> which means breakfast in the room or on the fly. Something fast and easy and probably not ordered from Personal Disney Shopper (not to be mistaken with Personal Walt Disney Shopper :sad2: ) or Garden Grocer just yet. I believe we'll save that for the next day since we'll then be checking in to CSR for the longer part of our trip. Seems silly to have stuff delivered somewhere we'll only be for a couple of days, don't ya think? ::yes::

We'll make our way over to the park and watch the opening show and sing along with them since one of Mackenzie's and my favorite movies is Singing In The Rain, and since the Good Morning song is sung in that movie, we know it fairly well. Okay, okay, truth be told....I'll be singing along and she'll be beyond embarassed and trying to make her get away. :rotfl:
It's true.
I'm trying to introduce the classics to Mackenzie, so far she's a big fan of Meet Me In St. Louis, My Fair Lady, and Singing In The Rain (which by the way is going to be shown in theaters again August 22nd for one final showing, check with fathomevents.com for your local listing on that day-should only be two showings 2pm and 7pm)

This will be a very exciting morning since it will be not only our first park of the trip but also our first time seeing the new Fantasy Land!!! :cloud9:
newfantasylandsmall.jpg

It will be seriously hard to contain ourselves as we'll be making our way around the park on the train, which is tradition to ride the train to the Mts. when we hit the park. We'll stop to ride at least one Mt. and then we'll get fastpasses for the other if the line is long. Then, hop the train again and make our way over to the new Fantasyland!! We'll more than likely be spending as much time there as we can, I. CAN. NOT. WAIT!! We'll have to make our way back over to do one of the Mts. again and then we'll probably high tail it over to our first ADR of the trip!! popcorn::

Liberty Tree Tavern
LibertyTree.jpg

Mackenzie and I have not eatin here yet, but we hear really good things about it. I'll more than likely have the Colony Salad and I especially want to try out a specific dessert. ::yes::
I know, I know, I'm losing weight and all I seem to talk about is the desserts. I promise I'll be good, I certainly won't blow all my hard work while in Disney World. There's just a few places I've always wanted to try and this is one of them. The Ooey Gooey Toffee Cake is what I'm aiming for. :hyper: Now, I say this but I'm not sure I'll even be able to eat it since I've restricted myself from sugar for so long, so much so that it doesn't take much to make me feel sick when eating it. Sooooo, more than likely what will end up happing is me convincing Mackie to order whatever dessert I want and then I'll just take a couple of bites and then pass the rest onto her. Think she'll fall for it? :rolleyes1
That's the plan anyway.....What?!!? :confused3
Does that make me a mean mom?

Once we're done with lunch we'll decide if we want to go back to the resort to swim and rest or to push on and conquer all that is Magic Kingdom!!
I'm hoping the time of year we'll be there it won't prove to be a crowded park, then we can go on and discover all that we can. I love being in the park all day on the first day.

I'm still deciding if we want to do another ADR that evening or just find a CS that we'll be happy with. The ADR I'm thinking about (since it will all be out of pocket at this point) is The Plaza, I've never eatin there either and it sounds like a good place to get a sandwich. I'm thinking the Plaza Club or burger, maybe I should have a burger during lunch and then do a salad here in the evening. Probably a better way to burn off what I'm eating. No dessert here for me or Mackie, I realize how much we may be missing out but we have a tradition that we must partake in later that evening. :goodvibes

I'm sure we'll finish out the evening riding what we've missed and then taking in Wishes. We're neither one for parades, unless it's Spectro and then maybe we'll watch. We really rather do rides. The Electrical Parade isn't our thing. I think it's the music and some of the creepy characters on the balls that spin with the weird masks. :scared:
:duck: No judging, we all have our thing.

Once Wishes is over we'll make a bee line to Liberty Square Sleep Hollow to get our last treat in for the day. Either a waffle or a funnel cake covered in strawberries to share, we'll then sit and watch the Castle change colors as everyone in the park makes their way to their homes for the evening.
One of my most favorite things to do when in Magic Kingdom....it's like you have the place alllll to yourself. :cloud9:

That's Day 2!!

MK first!!! I love how it can get you in the "Disney Mood" and set the tone for your whole trip!

I am confused - I am pretty sure I remember spinning balls with wierd masks at Spectro :confused3 I have seen that on Main st at MK twice - I have seen ELP at DL once and CA once I bought the VHS and watched it several times too - I don't remember anything creepy except a dragon blowing smoke :confused3

Oh,and I didn't like Spectro for that reason, I think. But then who knows what I remember these days :lmao:

You are absolutely right Tammie. :rotfl: I've mixed up my parades, the spinning balls and creepy masked people are in Spectro, it's the music to the electrical parade that I think is beyond annoying, the music in Spectro is wonderful, true Disney. :lovestruc
I hope I'm not offending anyone here, I love almost all things Disney. In fact you'll find me hard pressed to say anything bad about Disney and for those who do (when in my home) get's the "stare". But this is how I feel, and well, it's how I feel! It's probably the one thing about Disney that I just don't care for, truth be told I'm not a parade person no matter where I am, so I can't really blame it on Disney. :duck:

Yes, I love go to MK the first full day. I'm hemming and hawing whether or not we should have a true down day in the trip or if I should get park tickets for everyday we're there other than arrival day? My thinking is I'll want to hit MK every evening as much as possible, even on our down day. I guess I haven't revealed much about the down day yet, so I'll hold off and talk more about it coming up. :teeth:

Well, it's official.....my boy has gone back to school. :worried:

Aaaand of course I'm sad. I didn't think I would be considering how he had been behaving over the summer. But, as most of you mom's/dad's know, whether we're head over heals in love with our kids at the moment or wanting to whip their butts, we still miss them when they go.

Of course, wouldn't you know it, the tone has already been set for the year by a shooting already happening near campus. :sad2:
Do you think my boy called to tell me about it? NOOOOPE!

I thank Goodness for Patricia calling me and letting me know before I found out by way of the news. Thank you girl, once again you had my back. I really feel for and I'm praying for the family's who lost loved one's in College Station today.

Now I'm really looking forward to a trip to WDW with my boy after he graduates, let's hope we can make it happen. Let's hope he does some growing up in the mean time.

Looks like a great plan! I will be counting on a full report from the new Fantasyland. popcorn::

And you'll love Liberty Tree Tavern. :thumbsup2

Sorry you had to say goodbye today. But I'm sure you could use the break too.

Thank you Mark, Mackenzie and I have really big plans this trip. :goodvibes
With the boys not joining us we're curious to see how we really approach our trip. Since Mackenzie is not a little girl anymore we won't be hitting BBB this time around, kinda makes me wonder what other "grown-up", ideas she has about this trip.
This will be a trip of getting to know my girlie all over again, have you discovered that with your girl now that she's starting to get passed the little girl stage? Once they hit 10 it's all about rediscovering who your child is, they change so dramatically every year from that point on.
I really, really like who my baby is turning out to be. :lovestruc

As for saying goodbye the other day to my son....I think you're right. I REALLY needed a break from him, still hurts when they go. I know he'll come back around to the man I've raised him to be. In the mean time, my battle is to be done in my prayer time. I know you understand that as a parent. :lovestruc

Off to take my hubby to the airport.

Hey Camille! We take Lauren to college this weekend and Judy is already crying when she thinks about it.

Hi Camille! It will be so much fun to have the time to really connect with who MacKenzie is! It's so nice you are able to do this. Funny how tastes vary - I remember thinking ELP was bright and cheery and the Spectro music bugged me - too electronic or something :rotfl2: We really aren't parade people, either. If we happen to be there when it's happening, we'll stop and watch, but most of the time we head back to a ride because the lines will be short.

Camille and Glennbo - This is a hard time - letting go. I don't even have any words of wisdom about that, except that you have done your job and raised an independent responsible adult and they are ready to venture out, so you've done your job. Camille, I remember the days of "okay, time for you to go!" :lmao:

 Now you have me crying and thinking about when we took Ty to school. I'm also crying thinking about y'all taking Lauren to school.
It's a bitter sweet moment to be sure. I didn't cry much until we had to leave, then I was a blubbering bag of boo-hoo all the way home from College Station to Austin. Remember when we found out Ty was going to A&M?!?
I reported it on Jordy's TR I believe. :sad1:
The first one is pretty tough, you're lucky you have three. I just have the two, I think I'll be even worse when Mackenzie goes to school. :sad1:

I feel really blessed to be able to have this time with her.

::yes:: Exactly! To the last part that is.

This is what Pat said too. I've raised him right, gave him a good foundation with which to stand on, now it's his turn to go out there and make his choices. Yes, we are for sure in the times of "It's time for you to go."

He will grow into the man you know is in there. Trust in him, in Him, and in all that you've done. It's all in there. And in the meantime enjoy the break and recognize the conflicting feelings are normal and a good thing.

Hugs

Thank you sweet friend.

I keep telling myself he's been raised right and that he'll come around. At least that's what the good word says to be true. :)

Oh trust me, I'm certainly enjoying my break. :goodvibes
I think talking to Patricia made me realize all that I've been feeling is normal, everyone else's support is convincing me I'm on the right track. ::yes::

Who said growing pains were just for the kids?

Your first park day at MK sounds awesome. MK is often my first park, too. Can't help it. It really is the Laughin Place.

I love LTT lunch. OMG - the tricorner roast beef sandwich and the ooey - goey cake thing are both SO delish!

You have a great day planned! :goodvibes

Absolutely. She's definitely a "tween", but still has one fit into the child-like things. She loves her stuffed animals, Phineas & Ferb...

On the other hand, she's a little more conscious of what others think, the brands they wear, that sort of thing too.

Thank you Mary Ellen! :goodvibes I originally wanted to try LTT just because of the tricorner sandwich and the ooey gooey toffee cake, but they removed the sandwich from the menu. So a burger will have to do.

I know just what you mean, Mackie won't give up her Barbie's and Littlest Pet Shops yet, hardly every get's them out but won't give them up.
Mackenzie has just started being more brand aware, she's certainly more conscious of what she wears more than I've ever seen her, and that's saying something. The girl would have lived in sweats her whole life if it weren't for me and starting public middle school last year. :rolleyes2
