Secret Verandah rooms on Wonder

We have room 7620 booked for an upcoming Wonder cruise, but I have the chance to move it to 6634. Which one has the least amount of obstruction? There will be 4 adults using the verandah (if that makes a difference), occasionally all at the same time, if possible. I know there are only 2 seats, so we will be standing. I have tried to research this, but I can't really find anything that compares them. If you had the choice, which one would you choose and why?

Thanks so much for your opinions!

I looked at pictures before deciding to book either 7120 or 7620 when we've had it before. In the pics I've seen, the gradient of the overhang seems to be less on the Deck 7 SVRs than the Deck 6s.

& When you say 4 people will be using the verandah, you only mean using it, right b/c 7620 & 7120 can only sleep 3 people. So I'm assuming that the other 2 adults have their own stateroom but will be in yours for use of the verandah.

HTHs! :thumbsup2 & Happy Sailing! :sail:

We had 7620 on the Magic and LOVED it! I didn't think the obstruction was bad at all. I can't tell you which one is better, but I also loved deck 7. There is a "secret deck" aft on deck 7 that is really close to 7620. I would keep it, just my opinion. Best of luck!

Interesting - we've always chosen 6634. Had it on the Magic & Wonder & if we get back on the classic ships, we'll try for it again!!! Truthfully, either room would be just fine!!!

Thanks everyone. I have been looking at pictures and keep changing my mind and going back and forth. Every picture looks different, LOL. I guess we will stick with 7620. I was just worried about the curve of the wall. It looks like you won't be able to see out there unless you are seated and duck down. We have never had a verandah before so all of this is new to me and I m not sure of the size of anything because I don't have anything to compare it too.

As for 4 people in the room, it is correct, the other couple have a different stateroom.

Does anyone know if we can see the pirate night fireworks from this location?

Thanks everyone. If anyone else has an opinion I would love to hear it.

What cruise?

We always go up on deck to watch fireworks, veranda or not. :)

I can't seem to locate the thread, but I believe I read that both 7620/7120 and 6634/6134 are less obstructed on the Wonder as compared to the Magic. We're sailing in 6134 on the Magic next month and 7620 on the Wonder next year. I'll try to post photos after each cruise. I had the same question about the comparative obstructions, but didn't have the option of booking either room, so went with the cabin that was available. Maybe someone else has sailed in both cabins/both ships and can advise.

The Alaskan cruises don't have fireworks. If you have a different itinerary, check to see if there are navigator's available to view (red bar tabs at top).

Here are a couple of pictures from 7620 on the Magic. I thought the Wonder and Magic were basically the same ship, but I don't know

My son on the verandah. The fact that the railing was right as his eye level is why we're not in a 7A for Alaska coming up. We booked 7618 right next door!

The whole verandah. Never noticed the huge rust spot when we were on board.

Hope the pictures help (and aren't huge - I'm new with Photobucket)

Yes, you can totally see the Pirate Night fireworks from the 7620 verandah. We've watched them from that verandah before & it's honestly like it's your own private fireworks show. HTHs!

On the Fantasy an announcement was made that we were not permitted to be on our verandas during fireworks as well as to bring in any personal items on he verandah... Is it
not the same on all ships?

It is. We've gotten letters in our room on the Wonder, Magic, Dream & Fantasy. While we've never watched from our verandah, many do...

I've never heard that type of announcement or seen anything like it in any navigator on any of the 17 DCL cruises I've been on (Magic, Wonder & Dream).

And we've received that letter on 4 of our 6 cruises - 1 each on all 4 ships. Room 6634 on the Wonder & Magic, 9648 on the Dream & 9674 on the Fantasy. DH will post letter.

I'd keep the one on deck 7 for these reasons: laundry on that deck, less staterooms on that deck and the secret aft balcony.

Room 7620 was my first verandah experience and we loved it. However, for our next Wonder cruise, we're in room 6618, directly below 7618, how did you like it? Any pictures of 7618?

We've been in 6634 on the Wonder and we're booked in the same room for the WBTA next year ... Love that room. Less veranda blockage than the 2 secret rooms on deck 7 (same as 6134).

We loved the room. I think the aft area on the classic ships in the best! I have some pictures, but not at work. Though they look like standard verandah rooms. We spent a lot of time out there in Alaska!
