Has anyone recently stayed here? We normally stay at Country Inn and Suites but we like to park at the port. La Quinta offers a 40%off parking coupon when you stay there. I heard best western does also..Any feedback would be appreciated- we like to stay at decent places but haven't researched enough about these two. Thanks..

When will you be staying? DD and I will be there on Sept. 28th before we cruise the next morning. I didn't know they have the 40% coupon; we just wanted to be close to the beach - my plan, as a West Coaster, is to wade in the Atlantic! Will let you know how it is if you are cruising at a later date. My DH likes La Quintas and for the rate, it seemed like a good deal.

Just be aware that there are 2 La Quintas in Cocoa Beach. One is the oceanfront La Quinta Inn and Suites (which I believe does not offer the parking coupon) and the other one is the La Quinta Inn (which does offer the coupon deal). I didn't realize this until I started looking at the places that offer the coupon. I would much rather stay at the oceanfront La Quinta, but as noted, I couldn't find anything on their website that indicates they offer the 40% off parking coupon. Please let me know if this is incorrect. :thumbsup2

Yes, it is only offered at the La Quinta on Atlantic which is not oceanfront. This property also provides free parking for cruisers and free shuttles to the port. DD wants her car parked in a secure lot, so we are driving to Cruise Parking of Port Canaveral. But, the rate is great: AARP $73.80 - for La Quinta.

Just have to let you know that we found bedbugs in our room at the La Quinta on Atlantic. They were aware of the problem so maybe it's no longer an issue, however it was pretty sketchy overall anyway. Personally, I would rather spend a little more and stay at a nicer hotel.

that's all I had to hear...thanks all for your input...Any news on best western?

Although I didn't ask the question, I'm so glad I read this post as we were thinking about staying at this LaQuinta as well before our Nov. Dream cruise. Since we live a little more than an hour away, I might just drive from home and park at the Port Terminal.

Thanks.

Thanks! Good info to know! I'll be canceling our ressie and will look for something better or just drive in that morning from Clermont.

Alllllriiiiighty. We had planned on staying at the LaQuinta Oceanfront. Even though that one is not discussed here as having bedbugs, a few different websites indicate it did at one time. Good enough for me. Looking for another place to stay. Thanks for asking this question!

Actually, one comment for the Atlantic property was actually for the oceanfront La Quinta. Anyway, I now have reservations for Doubletree. A little farther away but it should be fine.

We just stayed at the Courtyard Cocoa Beach and it was wonderful. It is not ocean front but just a very short walk and some of the rooms are ocean view. It was exceptionally clean.

You may wish to consider the Hampton Inn in Cocoa Beach as well. They are well experienced with pre-cruise guests and have the breakfast buffet and port transportation process down to a science.

Can you tell me if HI is within an easy walk to the beach and any restaurants? We will have a 6 yr old and 1 yr old with us, no car. Thanks!

We are staying here on Friday - the registry had a report for last year. trip advisor rates it higher than the best western. Several recent reports...

Is this the only hotel that offers the 40% off coupon currently? We are going in October and would love to find any deals becuase we prefer to park at the terminal. We are arriving late the night before so just a place to sleep is great...well, a place without bedbugs. ;)

Besides this one, the Best Western offers it too. And I believe the Days Inn and Palm Springs or something like it.

I was able to talk to someone at PC that gave me the name of the other hotels some time ago. It's 40% off. You can upgrade to the preferred parking for $20 (I think that's what it is)

I saw someone posted that on Trip Advisor when I was checking out hotels for our upcoming KSC trip. I wanted something less expensive than the Country Inn, but I don't want bedbugs and the Best Western just didn't seem that great. Luckily Country Inn came out with a 30% off offer, so we're staying there.

Are you talking about a 30% off parking at the Terminal coupon at Country Inn and Suites? Or 30% off the room rate? I'm not finding anything on the website...:confused3. TIA.

I found a great deal and booked this hotel for a stay this past Spring, despite mixed/very opposite viewpoints expressed in the reviews. We have stayed at other LQ's, and I thought how bad could this be...
...We would N-E-V-E-R stay here again, whatever the price (or however much they would pay us, seriously). Bugs, severe mustiness in the room which activated our allergies, guest "being ill" several time off their balcony near the reception area, safety chain lock inside the door broken off, loud rowdy party in the bar spilling out into the hotel area. DH loves to sleep in, NOT THIS TIME! We checked in very late after a flight on a Thursday night and could not wait to get out of there, we were at the ship super early Friday am. It took a long time to shake all that off and feel like we really started vacation. It changed our perception of the chain, and taught me a lesson about hotel "deals". :rolleyes2 Health and safety have got to factor in.
I cannot understand the positive reviews I've noticed about this place - however I think that many of the positive ones are from people with just one post?

In the past we've had a nice experience at the Courtyard up the street, and had a fantastic stay at the Hyatt MCO.
