Boo to You & Turning 2! Oct 2012 PTR *NEW* 10/30 We're Back! TR Link Posted!!

I am really having a hard time putting any concrete plans in place because Paxton starts real daycare next week and his schedule will be totally different than what we have in place right now, especially naptime! What we have happening at home would be perfect for Disney too, so hopefully he can adjust back to it for a week in Disney without disrupting him too much? :confused3 I feel like I'm in the same boat as last year! If he can't adjust his naptime, I guess we will just have to adjust our break times...

I don't know what you do for a girl haircut either? I never really thought about that! :rotfl: I guess that's why most little girls I know don't get their first haircut until they are a few years old. I'm sure you could tell them just to do a trim of the tips to keep it even without her looking like a boy. She will be adorable no matter what!

Aww how are you doing with the prospect of daycare on the horizon? Why won't he be able to stick with the same schedule? Aria switched up her schedule over the last 12 days since she wasn't in daycare - she dropped a feeding AND a nap (5 nursing/day 3 naps/day instead of 6 and 4!) and I made a new schedule for daycare and she is following my new schedule.

LOL! Aria's hair is growing in so funny, it is really long at top and it actually is past her eyes when brushed forward, so I guess they could trim that? IDK. It would prob be smarter to wait but I just wanted her FIRST HAIRCUT to be AT DISNEY for her FIRST TRIP! LOL

Well, of course I'm a little nervous about it, but at the same time, I know he needs the structure and to be around other kids. He is getting too bored at home! It will definitely be harder for me than it will be for him.

The schedule we follow at home is breakfast at 7:30, snack at 10, lunch at 12, nap at 1:30. Once he starts there, he will be eating breakfast at 8, lunch at 10:50, nap at 12, and snack at 2. I'm just hoping he will do okay pushing his naps back to 1:30 while we are in Disney World since he will be used to the 12:00 nap for a couple of months before the trip. It really works so much better at 1:30 for our vacation! So hopefully he will adjust okay.

That's a good idea! Even if they just trim up the front, you still get the experience and the lock of hair to save. I definitely know what you mean. Paxton had hardly any hair when we went on our trip, but I wanted him to get that first haircut done on his first Disney trip too. Now since that first cut it grows like crazy! I'm hoping I can tolerate the length until October and not cave and go get it cut here. :rotfl:

It is definitely true that it is much harder on the parent than the baby. Aria LOVES daycare it seems, always gives Christina big smiles and is happy at the end of the day too.

Daycare's schedule is CRAZY? Who does lunch at 10:50?? And Nap at 12? IDK whose schedule that would work for. It's really weird IMO.

In similar news, we're working on Aria's schedule because while I was home we changed it up so much. It didn't go so well yesterday and she was in a MOOD yesterday afternoon, wouldn't nap, was overtired and hungry, and it just made for a really crappy night. So I hope things settle down there, I don't know what to do about it though.

Wow I' msurprised his hair is growing so fast! October is nearly here!! Wait it out!! :rotfl:

We drop him off for an hour at the nursery while we go to church and he goes to an in-home daycare the two days a week I work, and he LOVES playing with "new" toys and being around other kids. So I know he will really love going to daycare 5 days a week. I will just miss him being around the house so much! I am making a long list of things I have been putting off that would be easier to do when he's not around, so hopefully that will keep me occupied. It's always so nice when they smile big and like going to the person taking care of them...then you know they are being treated well while you are away! :goodvibes

I agree, it's nuts! But pretty much every place we looked at had a similar schedule of lunch around 11 and nap somewhere between 12 and 12:30. :confused3 I guess it is what works for them! Hopefully it will work for Paxton too...

Oh, no, I hope everything evens out! It is always so hard when the schedule starts changing around and they are grumpy. I remember when Paxton was starting to grow out of his morning nap...He took FOREVER to fall asleep to where it was hardly worth it anymore, and then he wouldn't nap in the afternoon & was miserable all night. So we dropped the morning nap, but that first week or so, it was really hard to find the right balance and have him stay awake (and happy!) until after lunch. It all worked out in the end, but that transition time can be so frustrating. Hope Aria gets her kinks worked out soon!

Wednesday October 24th

Today will be all about DS, because we will be celebrating his 2nd birthday on Day 5! Our day will be starting early as we head to (where else?) the Magic Kingdom for some pictures in the park before it opens.

Then we will be checking in for our 8:10 am ADR at Crystal Palace!

We LOVED this breakfast last year, so I figured what better way to kick off a 2nd birthday? I can't wait for more of that delicious puffed French toast! And I'm hoping we will have another great experience with the characters like we did last year as well.

After breakfast, it will be a day in Magic Kingdom spent doing everything DS loves & can ride. I started playing around with the optimized touring plan options on Touring Plans and as I was putting in the attractions and picking things like Splash Mountain and Space Mountain with the Rider Switch option, I thought to myself that it doesn't sound like much fun for DS waiting for us to ride the big people rides. So instead, we will ONLY be seeing the shows he likes and riding the attractions without height requirements!

I'm a little torn about how to do this day, but I guess we may have to play it by ear. I'd like to spend the whole day in MK, but it will depend on how he is napping during our vacation. If we have to go back for an earlier nap and come back in the afternoon, we may do that. Or if he knocks out in the stroller for a little while, maybe we can stay until mid-afternoon instead. I'd really love to get to see the afternoon parade with him since we have never seen it, but we will have to see how it goes.

Either way, we will be back at Bonnet Creek mid-afternoon to early evening. One of us will have to run out and pick up the cake, probably from Cold Stone.

We are making tacos for dinner that night, cooking at the resort for the very first time! We have made breakfast and stuff there, but never really cooked a meal, so I'm a little excited about that for some reason. And then after dinner, we will of course sing Happy Birthday to DS and have cake & ice cream!

I think my parents are planning to go back out that night, but the three of us will stay in, maybe watch a movie or, if our request comes through, watch some fireworks off the balcony.

I have the same birthday plans as your DS LOL. Breakfast at Crystal Palace and spending the day in MK. Really is there any better way to spend your birthday??

Lol that's exactly what I would do if I was in WDW for my own birthday! But you'll probably never catch me there since my birthday is in the middle of June. Haha

Oh my goodness I might have already seen those pictures of Paxton but they are absolutely adorable. Talk about hamming up to characters. The one with Piglet is just the cutest thing ever. Paxtons birthday sounds wonderful. I am definitely jealous of his birthday plans. Unfortunately our whole families birthdays are in July so we will never be in WDW to celebrate.

I've said it once and I will say it again Cold Stone= Yum!

:goodvibes Those were some of my favorite pictures from that trip. DH and I are not too fond of the Winnie the Pooh characters, but after how much Paxton LOVED them at breakfast, it will be something we have to do until he gets tired of it. :thumbsup2 I know what you mean, having a summer birthday stinks! Mine is in mid-June, and I don't see me ever choosing to be there on my b-day, even if it is my favorite place in the world. I'd much rather go when the weather is cooler, thank you very much!

Excited about Cold Stone!

That looks like a good plan for his Birthday! CP should be a great start to the day.

It's nice that you're only going to do rides and attractions he enjoys that day. That's going to be hard to do though. Especially if you walk by Space Mountain and it has the shortest wait you've ever seen there. :rolleyes1 :rotfl2:

:lmao: You are SO right on that one! Maybe he will take a nap in the stroller...Then I won't feel bad "cheating" a little!!

This weekend, we decided to do a little shopping and made some really great purchases that will be great for our upcoming trips! DS definitely made out like a bandit...first we stopped at Burlington, and found some cute t-shirts for him for $4.99 each.

IMG_1722.jpg

Too bad we didn't have the Lightning McQueen for DL with all of the Cars Land hype going on at the time! But he can wear it for one of our DHS days I'm sure.

Also at Burlington, I found a maxi dress for myself to wear all the time, but also to bring on our upcoming DL weekend. Seems like it will be cool and comfortable since it will likely be a lot hotter than it was in May. And if it works well in DL, it might tag along for WDW in October too.

To the left in that picture is one of the 3 athletic shirts DH bought for himself. We have heard frequently on the podcasts we listen to that they are good for the hot days in the park because they wick away moisture and dry fast. Since DH is ready to brave some water rides this time around, I'd say that's a good thing! He also got one in red and one in blue.

The athletic shirts came from Macy's, as well as this adorable top I got for myself! I always seem to find at least one cute Disney design whenever I go there.

While we were walking around the mall we kept seeing people walking around with huge bags from The Children's Place, most of them with several bags. So of course, we had to check it out! They were having a HUGE sale! All of the baby boys khaki shorts were on sale for $4.99 so we got several in different shades of khaki and dark blue in 3T for when DS gets bigger, plus there was a whole wall of shirts and shorts for $2.99! So he also has a 3T polo and we got a bunch of cotton play shorts in different sizes since he is starting daycare (today was his first day!) and needs a lot of play clothes. I think $60 got us a total of 13 pairs of shorts and a polo, so less than $5/item. Not bad!!

Here's just a couple of funny pics we took of DS recently too.

And finally, I just have to share this photo that DH showed me online because it is just too funny!

McKayla Maroney is not impressed with Splash Mountain

The Olympics were so exciting, and I'm more than a little bummed that they are over. I always have a little case of withdrawals from the Summer Games when they end because I know it's 4 more years until I get to see them again. But the Games this year were VERY exciting! And I guess it is a little nice that I don't need to force myself to stay up until 11 pm every night watching the prime time broadcast. :lmao:

Anyway, I know this post was a little random, but there ya go. :thumbsup2

DW came home this weekend with a bunch of Minnie Mouse stuff for DD. I think we're pretty much set for our upcoming trip. It must have been sale day everywhere. :rotfl:

:rotfl2::rotfl::lmao:
I almost feel sorry for her because she has really become one of the biggest punchlines from the Olympics. That said, come on, you won a medal. Suck it up and show some class!

Sorry, I'll end my mini-rant. :rolleyes1

I like the Olympics too. It seems like there is always some sport that I would never otherwise watch that I just become obsessed with during the Olympics. It is disappointing to think about the fact that it will be 4 years before we can see them again, but at least it is only 2 years until the winter Olympics!:thumbsup2 I'm ready to start my next 2 week obsession with curling.

I like that dress! Super cute!

LOL at your Splash picture. I can't believe the Olympics are over. I feel like they just started! I watch the first week like a crazy person - I'm obsessed with gymnastics and swimming. I completely lose interest once track & field starts. The Winter Olympics I could care less about which is odd considering how much I love hockey. All my Rangers are split up among their countries so I end up not caring who wins. Oh well. See ya in Brazil! ;)

I was the same way with the Olympics. Suddenly I was SUPER interested in indoor volleyball and got very annoyed when I had to miss a match at work! :lmao: I'm not big on the Winter Games so it's mostly just a 4 year wait for me though I may give it a try in 2014. My co-worker who is obsessed with the Olympics in general tried to explain curling to me and I just don't get it. :confused3

Thanks! I've never tried a maxi dress before because I'm so short I didn't think I'd ever find one that didn't pool around my feet and trip me up, but this one was a little shorter than another one I tried on. Hopefully it's as comfortable in the parks as it was at home!

You sound exactly like me. Once the beach volleyball gold medal match aired, I was pretty much not interested in the rest. I watched some only because DH likes the track & field, but I'm much more interested in the swimming and gymnastics myself too. I don't really care for ANY of the sports in the Winter Olympics, so I usually don't pay attention to them, but I may try to give it another chance in 2 years. Ready for Rio!

I might actually like the winter olympics better in some ways. I always like the skiing and speed skating. I really can't explain curling either, but for some reason I became riveted by it during the last winter olympics.

This year volleyball was the biggest thing of interest in our house. DW coaches volleyball at a local hs, so she wanted to watch all she could. There was a lot of good volleyball played though both in the sand and on the indoor court, so I didn't mind watching it at all.

I love the purchases you made!!! Great shirts, dress is pretty. Yay!! I love new clothes but hate clothes shopping for myself. I could buy Alex clothes all day every day LOL. Love the new pics of Paxton too. He's just so cute! Always reminds me so much of Alex. That pic of McKayla is hilarious! I am sad that the Olympics are over but now it's SHARK WEEK. :cool1::cool1: Sorry I haven't been around a lot. I don't get a whole lot of free time to get on here and catch up with everyone.

Birthday plans look AWESOME! And I mean that bc like Jenny, we have the same plans! Yay! hahaha.

Nice job shopping! the shirts look great! I wish DH would show interest in wearing those sorts of shirts. He wears mostly button-downs and they are HOT! I love your dress, too!

Crystal Palace is where the cool kids go for their birthdays. :cool2: :rotfl:

Paxton's B-day plans look great! You can't beat a breakfast at the CP followed by a day at the MK! I also think tacos and ice cream cake sounds good too! :rotfl2:

Great shopping! Maybe I need to check out the Children's place, I would love to get Everett some shorts for next year for cheap. I usually try to buy all his clothes a season ahead, and I'm doing well with shirts for next summer, but I don't have enough shorts.
