Tickets through (Canadian) Air Miles?

I'm in the midst of the "ticket increase scramble", which I'm sure many of you appreciate. I'm considering getting one of our tickets through the Canadian Air Miles program (the blue card one).

Just wondering if anyone has ever done this and how it worked. What did they send you? The description refers to a 3-day park hopper, but says nothing about MM, and I don't like surprises. The size of the ticket increase is all the surprise I can handle right now!

We did this last year. We had enough to get one 3-day adult, an one kids. We then had my mom offer to get us the last one so that's what we did.
It's really easy.
Once you order, it arrived in two weeks or less. I think closer to 10 days. And, BTW it is an actual 3-day park hopper ticket with 1 MM. So, you don't even have to go to the ticket booth to have a ticket issued. I would have done the same thing again if we had the airmiles.
Have fun!

Thank you so much for that! That's what I'll do. When I compare it to other rewards, especially at these new prices, it seems like a good use of the air miles.

I have ordered hopper passes through airmiles a couple of times with no issues. I am sure that they arrived within 2 weeks.

I was doing the scramble this morning too! Had to buy 2 child park hoppers much sooner than expected.

We just placed our order earlier this week for 2-7 day park hoppers. Super easy and they said it should be here in about 3 weeks. It's a great use of the airmiles and I keep thinking there's a catch since I can't find 7 day park hoppers anywhere else. Great to hear that other's have ordered and used them with no problem.

do you know if they have a expiry on the tickets. I was wondering as if we don't use them this year that we can use them next year if bought
Thanks

I believe they expire Dec 31, 2012 at the moment. Probably when tickets with new expiry dates are released by Disney, they get new ones as well.

I ordered one child park hopper yesterday through air miles. They also have a current promotion when you cash in for a disney ticket, you get a bonus 50 air miles. I bought the other 3 to beat the increase. I realized later that I should have gone through flight centre for those as I would have saved a teeny bit more, but oh well.... :headache:

We ordered ours 2 weeks ago and the they arrived within a week by XpressPost. These are the actual tickets, gate ready, with an expiration date of Dec 31, 2012.

Thanks for the info. We need tickets for next year and they probably won't be available to order till the first of the year. Although with the ticket price increase...they will probably be 2500 points each:scared1:

PLEASE NOTE: that the air miles program is changing. I work at a Canadian Company who takes Air Miles and we have to tell EVERYONE that there is a change coming as of June 1st. I wanted to mention this to you because I am not sure what category Disneyland passes fall under, but I really want to make you aware. So please look at Airmiles.ca and find out more about what your options are.

As far as I know as of June 1st 2012 (in a few days), you will not be able to redeem your AM points for gift cards or those fun little prizes you get if you don't use your points for flights and hotels. If you want to cash in your points for gift certificates etc. you MUST redeem your points by June 1st.

After June 1st your points will be going into one of two accounts, and you may transfer all your points whenever you want into either account.

Account 1: (Dreams account) Redeem your points for flights, hotels, car rentals, etc.

Account 2: When you go into a store such as Safeway or RONA which accepts airmiles, you may hand your card over to the cashier when you are paying for your item and you can say you want to redeem 95 points. For each 95 points you get $10 off your purchase.

WOW! Is this for real?! That is a MAJOR change! We have loved using our airmiles for non flight things like tickets, etc. in fact we just got our 5 day parl hoppers, and yes I can confirm everything that others have said, we got them very fast win purolaitor.

We were also getting seaworld tickets but were waiting until we had enough for three. We are very close, but with this news we will be getting two tickets ASAP and get the third if we have enough miles.

Wow, thank you so much for the heads up!

Yes its a huge slap. :crazy2: I'm just being told what to say by documents sent to my work by AM itself. I loved to use my points for movie tickets or restaurants. I never collect enough to go anywhere. Again please look into this information yourself through Airmiles. Call them if you need to to confirm. I wont want anyone to rush and waste their points if they later can still purchase park passes as I dont know what category these park passes fall under. As far as I know park passes may fall under the "Dreams" category, but I could be wrong on that account.

Thanks for the info.
That is weird if airmiles is changing as it just changed to the cash rewards and dream rewards, and the dream rewards haven't changed and the cash rewards are only at rona not safeway, although i hope they do add safeway. There is nothing on the site that i can see about changing again, i will definatly be calling tomorrow.

Thanks fro the heads up!

I had planned on saving mine up for flights any how being 3000 air miles for a flight from Toronto to Orlando is pretty cheap if you consider that 95 air miles is equal to $10 that makes the flight only $300 approx rather then the typical $400 to $500 BUT I was also considering the ticket options...

We spoke to an Air Miles representative a few weeks ago in Metro who wanted us to set up our account to either the DREAM or CASH and she only really expressed a FEW changes .. again don't quote me cause I don't know but what I walked away understanding was that...

Air Miles Now Expire After 5 Years and the only other difference was that you could use the CASH reward right away you just have to have the Miles in your CASH account she said everything else stayed the same essentially.

So again just what I have heard... :confused3

Can the disney tickets through airmiles be used by anyone?

My aunty is giving me some but not coming on the trip.

Meaning she is ordering tickets through airmiles and when the tickets arrive giving the tickets to me.

Is this ok?

We got 5 day park hoppers through airmiles that we are going to be using his week. They are exactly the same unregistered park hoppers that we paid for on our last trip. Shouldn't be an issue who ordered them.

That makes me feel better

Thanks for the quick reply!

Yes. The tickets they send are the same ones that you would get at a ticket booth. No names on them it anything so they can be given as a gift. I just received ours for our upcoming trip. Hooray for Air Miles!!! :)
