Bahama cruise Feb temp too cold?

We're now looking at pushing our Thanksgiving trip back to Feb to save money. My concern is about the water temp in the Bahamas during that time of year. Have any of you traveled there in Feb and if so, is the water warm enough to enjoy?

Thanks!
Donna

The water will be on the chilly side but not cold enough to keep you out of it. It will still be warm and sunny outside.

We try to cruise every year during February because it is less expensive.

I generally feel that the water temps in the Bahamas in early December are too cold, so February will probably be the same or worse unless there is a particularly hot winter.

Everyone has different tolerances for cold water, so you might be just fine.

We cruised in January, while the water was a bit cold once you get in and used to it, its fine.

We've only cruised in January but the water has always been decent. The only drawback is the air temp is a little cooler in the morning but by afternoon, it's nice. I would suggest not booking any early morning water excursions (snorkeling, etc), otherwise, wait until mid day and it will be nice.

Way too cold, can't even get my big toe in the water. But Thanksgiving for that matter is too cold as well. We have cruised many times during Thanksgiving, and it is one of our favorite times to go. We just enjoy the sun outside of the water. They days are typically nice. Since we come from a cold climate we enjoy basking in the sun. The other plus side is you don't have to cook Thanksgiving dinner.

It is cold. My kids would not even swim in it.

We like to sail Easter to early october due to water temp.

we went in Feb 05, my girls wouldnt go near the water that year... there was hardly anyone in the water at CC. The weather was warm, not not the water.

(we were there in Dec 4, 2010,) and the water was a lot warmer then.

We went toward the end of February last year, and the water was on the cold side. We walked along the edge of it, my girls went in but didn't really stay in, and once they got out, were cold. The beach was nice, though, sunny but breezy. Compared to our trip last month, so many more people were in the water this time, able to go snorkeling and spend time enjoying the water.

I'm from a cold weather climate (well, not this summer YIKES) but when I travel in the dead of winter, I want it to be warm!! I wouldn't go near the bahamas in Feb. if I was looking to go swimming. Been there in Jan., Feb. and Mar. and everytime it was too cold to spend any amount of time in the water. Now come April, May, june......BATHWATER!!!! Woohoo!!

We live in MN and this past Jan we were at Castaway and it was just fine for us. I didnt look at where you live but that will probably play a big role in if you will swim or not ;)

We have been at CC twice in feb - this year and last and will be there again next year. Sea temp has been fine, and the temp out the water lovely, but then we are from the UK and the sea here is really cold! It depends what you are used to, I suppose.
