Vacation package question

We are booked 12/10-12/16 with free dining so we couldn't book 12/8 or 12/9 as arrival date. Can you add a night at regular prices or no? I would love to arrive a day earlier but not sure how or if it's possible. TIA!

Yes, you can book room only for the 9th (or however many nights you wanted to add) :). If you do that and book at the same resort and same room type as your package, have them link the 2 reservations together and put in a request to keep the same room. When you check in for the first reservation, tell the CM that you have a continuing reservation and would like to avoid changing rooms if possible. Keep in mind that not having to move is just a request and is not guaranteed, but Disney will do everything possible to keep you in the same room ;).

Yes. You can book a room only and asked the have the reservations linked. The CMs on the phone will likely tell you that you cannot pick up the tickets booked with your FD package early. However, it is possible. Please read Cheshire Figments sticky thread about tickets at the top of the Theme Park Attractions and Strategies forum for information on getting your package tickets early. They can be picked up at guest services up to 3 days prior to the start of your package.

Wow great info thanks! I had no idea and just would have accepted that we were shorted our trip a bit! I would need to add a day to my tix...Right now I only have 5 days but would need 6 or 7. Will they let me do that or should I add that before I do the room only reservation? Sorry confused :/ tx again for the info :)

I just read through the tickets sticky. Has anyone ever done this without a problem? Arrived early and picked up tickets? Are there any threads on here with reports? I will do a search...Thanks so much for replying!! :)

It's generally best to pick the tickets up and use them once before upgrading them. The reason for this is if you booked your package before the last price increase in June, you will get full credit for the current gate price if you use the tickets first. If you upgrade before use, you will pay the price difference for the current gate price plus the cost of the upgrade. You can upgrade tickets (add days and/or add park hopper or the water park fun & more option) anytime within 14 days of first use. The info on price bridging is in Cheshire Figment's sticky as well.

Lots of DISers have done this without issue. I think the Theme Parks forum is generally where I've seen the threads about people doing it. You have to pick the tickets up from guest services at a park though. You can't pick them up at your resort.

Okay thanks everyone! I just called and added a 6th day to my magic your way base ticket (for less than $40!) and will now look into doing an extra night room only. Soooo excited to get another day at Disney!! And it won't cost me very much either :-) :-) :-)

We did early ticket pick up in December 2010 with no problem. We had 2 nights room only at AKL before changing resorts where our package started. We went to guest services at Animal Kingdom and within 5-10 minutes we had our park tickets in hand and were inside the park :thumbsup2. The only thing we ran into was after we checked in for our package. We were told our "early" tickets could not be added to our new KTTW cards, which was fine since we anticipated this from reading the tickets sticky. However, once we checked in for our package, our early tickets were somehow deactivated (which we weren't aware of) and our park tickets were indeed on our new KTTW cards. We found this out when we went to DHS later that day and were denied entry due to our early tickets being "upgraded". After a quick trip to guest services, we found out our park tickets were on our package KTTW cards. Other than that small glitch, everything worked great ;).

Thanks for sharing your experience. I'm glad it worked out for you! I'm so excited that now we will have 6 days at Disney rather than 5 :-) :-)
