Could anyone tell me how much the martini, margarita and mixology tastings are, how many and what drinks they made? (fantasy)

They are $15 per person. They change which drinks they make. For martini you get 5 small martini's.

I've done most of the drink tastings on the Magic and Wonder. I want to say they are $10 and you go to guest services to pay and get your tickets(they put them on your room).

I have found that there is a lot of alcohol at these if you drink all that they give you. At most of them, you get 5 tastings and they are very liberal pours. When I did the martini tasting, we had an apple, berry, chocolatini, regular and dirty martini that we tasted. I think one of these was the speciality of the bartender we had. They also allowed one person from each table to make their own martini using any of the liquers they had. I like that they give you the history and tell you how they should be made.

I can see from the pics they are tiny, thanks for the info. Anyone done the tequila/margarita tasting?

I did the tequila/margarita tasting. It was $15 pp. We got 3 half shots of Patron tequila (silver, anejo & reposado) plus a sangrita. Then we had 2 FULL SIZE margaritas. The margaritas were a mango margarita and a Grand Marnier Margarita. They teach you all about the history of tequila & how its made. I was really feeling it after this.

Mixology was also $15 pp and it was tons of fun. We each made about 4 drinks each then we had the chance to step behind the bar to make a martini. Tons of alcohol and another one that had me tipsy afterwards.

The martini one we did, there was only 5 or 6 of us. The bartender made a lot more martinis than for 5 or 6. We definitely drank our money's worth

 You had me at Patron....

I have never done the tastings but I am looking forward to it on my upcoming cruise. I was just curious if the tip is included in the $15 or are you supposed to tip on top of that?

Until this moment I have never thought of tipping at a tasting. I will admit if I was pleased at the tasting I went to the bartender's bar later in the cruise, sitting at the bar and ordering directly from him/her and tipping generously then.

Thank you I wasn't really sure if you are supposed to tip or not. Although, since I read that it is a bartender doing the tasting I wondered. I remember on my first cruise I did an excursion where they mentioned tipping them if you enjoyed the excursion and I didn't have any money on me (yikes!). Since then I will usually carry a little extra cash.

I did a mojito tasting on a Mexico cruise last year, it was a blast! The people were fun, the drinks tasty (and plentiful), but it was at 4:45... DH and I are going this time with the little ones and it seems the Caribbean cruises do them earlier (from the navigators I have seen). Any idea what time I should expect to reserve the Nursery or any experience with the nursery busy times... perhaps it wont matter :) Galveston cruise navigators wont be available until just before we leave and not sure if I can wait to book the nursery - this is like the one activity I really want my husband and i to do!

I would also like to know when the tastings are offered. Are they all offered at the same time & you choose which "group" you would like to be in?
TIA!

I did mixology on our dream cruise last week with Oscar the bartender. We made a shot called B-52 (which I loved and became known as mommy's happy drink for the rest of the cruise ) I had one every day after that. We also made mojito, margarita and two kinds of martini. We all got a full shot, a small cup of both martinis and margaritia and a taste of mojito. It was alot of fun. I would have liked to have done the wine tasting but they only offered one and it was at like 1pm. Too early for wine for me.

Come on your on vacation it's never too early. I don't like when they are at 5 because I have to rush to dinner and it's not easy to do tipsy.

It's 5:00 o'clock someplace.

so where do you sign up for these when you get on the ship (unless I can sign up earlier)? Do they typically sell out on embarkation day? The mixology and Margarita tastings are calling my name!
