Those AP discounts are the best! It really makes paying that money even more worth it! I was so impressed by WPE! I will definitely be eating there again!

YES I heard about that the other day! OMG, I want to go SO badly. Unfortunately I don't think I'll be able to manage a trip in November, since I have to work. Still, I think it's so cool they do stuff like that for AP holders! AHHH, that is so cool that you got to go to the EE preview! That sounds like so much fun!

YUUUUUUUUUUUM. Wolfgang Puck's is one of my all-time favorite places! Ever since I first had that pesto pizza & mac and cheese in 2008, I haven't been able to stay away. My mom and I actually went there THREE times on our 2010 trip and got that every time! Plus we had leftovers, so we were basically eating that pizza almost every day. LOL. We are WPE freaks. You must try the mac & cheese next time, it's the best in the world. However, I really wanna branch out and try other things on the menu since everything looks so amazing.

Oh my God... that awful moment when you're starving to death and you're waiting for your food but it's not there yet. That's the WORST. I completely understand.

I really need to try WPE! I am heading down to visit my folks in Florida next month. Flying into Orlando was cheaper even though they are in the Ft. Meyers area, so they are picking us up there. We already have Raglan Road for a Disney fix after they pick us up. Maybe we will have to do WPE as a Disney fix for the return flight!

I did that a few times on this trip. I can remember at least once or twice that I bought something and then realized I'd forgotten my AP right after I walked away from the register. Still, I managed to get a ton of great discounts!

WPE sounds so good! We actually stopped there in '09 without knowing anything about it. We had some extra credits to use as we had just checked out of our resort so we got a pizza to bring back to the timeshare we were moving in to. I believe my hubby ended up eating some of the pizza and was really happy with it but I never tried any of it.

It is delicious! I'm sorry you didn't get to try it last time, but hopefully on your next trip you will!

On our last trip we spent our first night off property. We had to take my daughter to Harry Potter. It sure feels weird to arrive but not really.

So my Diet Dr. Pepper is as cold as ICE but it's not frozen because it's not water." And then you win, because even if it's not true, it just sounds scientific and who can fight science? (apparently I'm in a silly mood.)
-Oh my goodness, I hate traffic so much too. I especially can't handle it if it's somewhere I am not COMPLETELY 100% familiar with and comfortable driving. I understand your near-nervous breakdown.
-That RockStar sounds great. I bet my boyfriend would love it if it tastes like lemonade. And no sugar and only 10 cals? I myself have a slight addiction to RedBull. I just started reading this TR and had to laugh when I saw the picture of the Waffle House. My husband and my daughter absolutely love that place. I don't mind it...but maybe that's because we live up north and the closest one is still 4 hours away. THe ones by us are much newer so there isn't the build up of grease on everything...

The Springhill Suites brings back memories for me. I worked for a major inusrance company and in 2004 i was working Catastrophe duty in Florida when they had 6 (or 7 maybe, I don't remember) hurricanes in about 6 weeks. I was in Orlando and that was my hotel. It was like the gods were playing with me; I was so close but couldn't take advatage of my proximity to Disney.

After being there for 4 weeks my company flew my DH and DD down for a weekend and we went to MK for the day as a suprise to my DD.

Well, I'm here for the duration...so bring it on!

"Vacation"- The Go Go's

July 8, 2012

Vacation, all I ever wanted
Vacation, had to get away ​

I woke up the next morning at 6:45 and literally leapt out of bed. It was finally time to check into the Beach Club and REALLY get this vacation started! I got in the shower, and then I woke John up at about 7:00. We finished getting ready, and headed down to the hotel’s continental breakfast at about 7:45. I was so excited for our day!

The elevator was still acting like it was possessed, but we made it down safely. It was still pretty early so the dining room wasn’t very crowded, so we grabbed what we wanted and found a table. I had some oatmeal with brown sugar and raisins and yogurt with orange juice.

John had some eggs and a blueberry muffin with a cup of coffee.

Time for the dining review!

Service: It was a continental breakfast buffet, so there really was no service. The food stations were all kept pretty full, though, so I guess that counts for something?

Atmosphere: Eh, there’s not much to say about that. The hotel was kind of bland and boring, as was the dining area. We were surrounded by miserable looking people who seemed more like they were getting ready for surgery rather than a day of vacation.

Food Quality: One word: bland. My oatmeal was just okay, and the yogurt was yogurt. John was not very happy with his breakfast. The eggs ended up giving him a stomach ache later, and he was disappointed because the only meat option they had was corn beef. What kind of buffet doesn’t have bacon or sausage? I’m just sayin’.

Overall Dining Experience: Honestly, it was not a pleasant meal. Neither one of us cared that it was gross because it was free and we were going to be eating Disney food in just a few short hours, but still. It was definitely one of the worst continental breakfast buffets I’ve ever seen!

Sorry, Springhill Suites!

Oh well, we didn’t dwell for long on our less-than-satisfying breakfast. We rushed back up to the room, gathered all our stuff, and ran out without looking back. We checked out at exactly 8:05 and headed out. The traffic was SO much better that morning, so in just a few minutes we were seeing...

THANK YOU LORD. Words cannot describe the way I felt driving under that sign and knowing I was in the Disney bubble to stay for the next TEN DAYS. It was magical!

We headed straight toward the Epcot resort area so we could check in to the Beach Club!

One day. One day I WILL be a DVC member!

We followed the signs to where we needed to be, and then I saw THIS:

I was SO excited! I had never even laid eyes on the Beach Club before, so everything was brand new to me!

It’s so beautiful! John dropped me off up front so I could go check us in while he parked the car. If you remember, we don’t do valets. We just don’t.

Anyway, the first thing I noticed when I walked into the Beach Club was THE SMELL. I had read about that smell all over the DIS, but words cannot describe how amazing it actually is. That was hands down the most beautiful smell my nostrils had ever experienced, and this is coming from a girl who used to work in the mall and had to walk past the Cinnabon everyday.

I headed to check in and didn’t have to wait at all! A really nice CM named Danny helped me. One of the first thing he did was give me our anniversary buttons!

Yay! Danny said our room wasn’t ready, which I was completely expecting, but he worked his CM magic on his computer for a few minutes, then he said SURPRISE, he found one that was ready, and it had a king sized bed! YAY FOR PIXIE DUST! I was so excited! I couldn’t believe it wasn’t even 8:30 and our room was already ready for us! While Danny finished up checking us in I made small talk with him. I mentioned how absolutely amazing it smelled in there, and Danny told me it was something that they pump through the vents. This was very fascinating, but I still didn’t know what the smell actually is! I’m going to guess it’s a mixture of angel wing dust and Heaven rain. I dunno, but it’s got to be something like that.

Anyway, I took a few pictures of the lobby before heading out to meet John!

I went outside just as John was walking up, so we walked back to the car together to get our luggage. As always, we forced ourselves to carry it all in one trip, so we grunted and sweated our way back into the Beach Club and onto the elevator!

We were on the second floor, so it wasn’t a very long elevator ride. Luckily this was a Disney elevator, so there was no terrifying noises or shaky stops.

I got really excited when I realized we had one of the new RFID technology doors, so all we had to do was basically rub our KTTW on the lock and it opened! Snazzy!

AHHH! This is so exciting! I'm getting excited here just WAITING for you to get the show on the road. I think I need a Disney vacation. Now.

That Springhill Suites breakfast looks miserable. I always hated those 'free continental breakfasts' because everytime we have one, it makes us sick for the rest of the day.

The Beach Club looks beautiful! I've heard the same thing about the smell, and I also know that they pump cotton candy scents out of the vents near Mainstreet Bakery, if you didn't already know that. Love the hidden Mickeys in your room!

I really wish I could just buy all the great stuff you posted that has Hidden Mickey's. I love the beach balls one. I feel like it's discreet enough that if my friends saw it in my own beach house, they wouldn't know right away what a big freak I was. Flounder might give it away though. Even the ones on the pillow...I LOVE classy, perfect Disney stuff. Of course Disney can make the nicest hotels sooooooo magical without being the least bit tacky. SO PERFECT!!

Beach club looks so beautiful. That is hilarious about the smell that they pump into the vents.
I would really like that kind of system at my house- Disney smells just getting pumped through the air all the time would be more than ok with me.

YAY, finally the Beach Club!!!

Is it weird not using the valet parking or something? Because Brandon and I don't use it either, he doesn't even drop me off to check in, we just park and both walk 10 miles to check in. Then of course we have to walk another 10 miles back to the car, get all of our stuff, and walk another 10 miles to the room. I never really thought anything of it, I just assumed that's what most people do! But I guess they have valet for a reason?

Isn't the Beach Club smell the best? Every time I walked in there, I inhaled SO deeply, it is so pretty! I don't know what it is either, but I'm sure it's something from Heaven.

Your room is amazing!!! See, if we had a room like that to begin with, with a king bed and the sink, I would have been fine (well, except for the noise that made us switch rooms anyway) but our room was just so weird, it didn't make any sense! Your room is perfect! I love the Beach Club so much...now I'm wishing I was staying there in November!
