I know that a fellow DISers will know the answer to this question!

Trying to help a couple of fellow cruisers by giving them a ride to MCO after our cruise as we will be heading towards WDW.

Leaving the port do you pass by MCO before you get to WDW or does it necessiate going out of your way?

MCO is between SR417 and SR528 (actually bordering SR528), so the buses will always 'pass' the airport. How close are to MCO when you pass by depends on the route the bus takes.

Thanks for your quick reply. Perhaps I did not pose the question correctly. Hubby and I will be in a rental car that we are taking to the port and parking there. After the cruise a fellow cruiser would like us to drop them off at the airport on our way back to WDW. I do not know the area at all and was wondering if on our way back from the cruise port if MCO airport is "on the way" to WDW or if we would have to go out of our way to get them to the airport.

Hope I am making more sense this time-lol

It's just a few minutes out of your way. I would guess by the tine you go in the north entrance, drop off your passengers, and exit the south entrance on your way to WDW you'll add 20-30 minutes to your trip.

That being said, it's a nice thing to do and I say gor for it!

Sorry, I read your OP incorrectly. Stopping by MCO on the way to WDW will not increase the length (miles or time) of the trip significantly.
