Is this a refrigerator or a 'Cooler"

Am staying at CBR in Oct and know they have refrigerator in each room. Someone told me they are more like coolers and do not really keep things very cold.
Any thoughts?

It's an actual refrigerator. When you first get to your room and the refrigerator is empty, it often doesn't feel very cold and you wonder if it's safe to put things in there. The first time I stayed there, I remember turning the "cool" dial in the fridge all the way to the lowest setting, only to discover a few days later that our half gallon of milk developed a big chunk of ice in the middle of it.

The mods have actual refrigerators; the values have beverage coolers. So you are good to go.

Can you tell me more about the cooler? We have some I laws staying in a standard room at ASM.

It is basically a dorm size fridge that keeps things cool. You can see pics on the official threads.

Im just confused. I thought you had to pay extra to have one in your room. I thought that was the whole reason there was a fridge swap thread.

Not any more. Disney put "beverage coolers" in the value rooms, which are essentially cube fridges that you can store drinks in.

They are refirgerators but do not have a freezer in them. They are small and can hold milk, soda, etc..They are free and you do not have to request them in advance anymore,:)

They added these "beverage coolers" to the value rooms within the last few months. If you need to keep anything beyond a few drinks cold, such as groceries, you will still need to rent a standard size mini-fridge and pay for it. If you need to keep medication cold, you can get a standard size mini-fridge at no charge.

Can anyone please post a picture of one of these beverage coolers? I'd like to see how big they are.

Did you look in any of the Value resorts 'official' threads? If Missytara says there are pictures in those threads already, I'd believe her and go search. Faster than waiting/hoping for somebody (a) to be reading this thread, (b) with the desired picture/s available, (c) and the ability to post the pictures :).

Here's a hint; I did a search of the official threads for the values - there is a pic on page one of the POP thread.

You will be fine, we have stayed at CBR 4x before and have had no issues with the fridge not keeping anything cold.:thumbsup2

The frig is larger than a dorm size, but not huge. At the Poly 3 weeks ago the frig was warm when we entered room. It took a while, but eventually it did get quite cool. Ours was located in a cabinet and with the doors closed it got VERY warm in the cabinet. I left the doors open, in fear of a fire.

I know on our last stay at POR back in March I had to adjust the temperature on the fridge. It was set at 3 and I had to turn it up to 4-1/2 to keep all our stuff cold(not cool).
