Bumps, bruises, too many teenagers & swimming with sharks! NEW 11/17 pg. 32

I didn't realize they also had root beer floats! I'm going to file that one away. I've still never had a Dole Whip, almost got one in Vero but....didn't. LOL!

I could have used some rules cards for Eric on this trip, need to figure out a way to get him to focus on being in the moment instead of obsessing about what's next.

I love the treehouse, many a good memory there.

Nice regroup with Space Mountain!

I have NO clue how I've missed your TR for this long :sad2: I've been away for a while but..... so sorry! Going back to catch up!

What a fun time at MK. I did the treehouse with the girls in January for the first time in probably 15+ years and really enjoyed it. I'm so glad that you and Zachary enjoyed it. That root beer float looks right up my DH's alley!

I loved your the pictures of your boys trying to pull the sword out of the stone. It reminds me of my profile picture on facebook.

We probably should not let your boys know that a certain five year old girl walked up to the sword and pulled it straight out on July 1st.

You didn't happen to see a wayward mingo up there, did ya? :rolleyes1

A man after my own heart!

Yes - I'd say we should keep that bit of information to ourselves. :rotfl:

No, no wayward mingo... but I was thinking about him/her when I was up there!

Loving your amazing day at the MK!

I thought for sure the two boys working together would get that sword out!

The boys seemed to really enjoy the HM queue.

Yeah, lunch at CHH and you got what you wanted. I love the upstairs seating.

Sounds like that was a really good split up with Hall of Presidents and the Treehouse. We enjoy the tour through the treeshouse when we have the time.

And no better way to reward yourselves for all that walking than with a couple of frozen goodies.

Great pictures from the treehouse and the train!

Hope you are able to make it back to an opened Splash. Love your rule books!

It was a fun morning at MK & we all got what we wanted for lunch! :thumbsup2

We often find that splitting up works well for us. Zach enjoys some of the "smell the roses" attractions at Disney but Alex has no patience for them. Which is funny to say since he wanted to see Hall of Presidents! But usually he just wants to go go go!

It looks like you had a fun day at MK. I still haven't explored the queue at HM. It looks like lots of fun.

Glad you enjoyed the treehouse. I can remember that from when I was kid. It terrified me then and my dad had to carry me the whole way. Jeremy and I both love it now. Tom not so much.

I had no idea they sold a root bear float! Jeremy and Tom would love those. We will have to check that out in November.

We did have a fun morning at MK. The new HM queue is very cool - you should definitely check it out.

I loved seeing the treehouse again - amazing details! I remember seeing it as a kid too - but most recently was with Tim a million years ago. It was nice to visit it again. It'll probably be a while before we walk through it again.

Love the pictures of the boys trying to get the sword out. They were determined!:rotfl:

Great pictures of Swiss Family Treehouse!! :thumbsup2

Too bad about Splash being down. I hope you get to ride it later on.:goodvibes

So cool that you got to ride in the Avengers monorail. Nick would be so jealous! We saw it numerous times on our trip but never got the chance to ride in it.

The boys were funny with the sword - I think they wanted to beat each other more than anything else!

Splash was not being very cooperative that day! More on that later... :rolleyes1

Nice regroup with Space Mountain!

I can't believe you've never had a Dole Whip!! :scared1: It took me a while to finally try one, but I love them now & can't imagine a trip without at least one. I don't think I knew they had root beer floats until we were trying to figure out what Zach wanted.

The rules cards have been handy from time to time on our trips. I think focusing on the moment can be hard for many of us! Hopefully it didn't put too much of a damper on your trip!

I have NO clue how I've missed your TR for this long :sad2: I've been away for a while but..... so sorry! Going back to catch up!

:welcome: Hi Tracy! Glad you found me!

What a fun time at MK. I did the treehouse with the girls in January for the first time in probably 15+ years and really enjoyed it. I'm so glad that you and Zachary enjoyed it. That root beer float looks right up my DH's alley!

I'm glad you got to revisit an old friend (treehouse)! It's fun to go back and see some of the less popular attractions from time to time.

Finally all caught up! Gotta get to work but will post more later.

I'll be here! :thumbsup2

I loved your the pictures of your boys trying to pull the sword out of the stone. It reminds me of my profile picture on facebook.

:lmao: Too funny!

MMM...those floats look delicious! :goodvibes

We love the Treehouse...it's one of my husband's favorites!

I hope Splash Mountain is open later.....:worried:

First things first…

In two months, I’ll be soaking in all of the magic with two of my best Disney friends! I can’t wait. Which also means I only have 60 days to get this TR wrapped up. So let’s continue where we left off!

When we left off, we’d spent a lovely morning at MK and were returning to our resort for a little pool time. Unfortunately, we couldn’t swim at our regular pool because there was a code brown! I guess this wasn’t that uncommon since it was the pool with the splash area where there were a lot of little ones. So today we ventured over to the main pool. It didn’t have a slide or anything and it was VERY crowded, but the boys managed to have some fun.

Heidi & family came over to the main pool at some point, but it was so crowded we barely saw them. They were over in the shallower area.

At some point, I had walked back over to our room & discovered our pool was open again so I gathered Tim & the boys & we went back over there to get out of the crowds.

Tim got in on the action:

We swam until around 3:30 then started getting ready for our 5:15 ADR at Chef Mickey’s.

We were early so we explored Bayview Gifts & Fashions. The boys got a few toys. Zach got an Indiana Jones play set and Alex got some playing cards & a ball. I bought a couple pins for the girls next door who were looking after our pets.

After dinner, we walked over to MK. It was now about 6:45.

We were supposed to be at the dessert party at 9pm so we had a good two hours to play.

First we rode the Jungle Cruise but I didn’t take any pictures! Next we were off to Splash Mountain… but we saw this:

Bummer! We headed over to Tomorrowland next & decided to try something new…

Stitch! I should have noticed the water on the seats where we sat but I didn’t… until I got sprayed in the face! Not a favorite but I’m glad we finally checked it out. I hadn’t been on it since it had been rethemed to Stitch.

After Stitch, we rode Space Mountain, got some popsicle snacks, then rode the TTA. A few pictures while we waited for Alex to eat his popsicle:

Splash was still reporting as closed so we rode the TTA. Hopefully it would be open on our next MK day.

Then I took the boys on one more ride on Space. More Kermit hands:

When we got there, we got wristbands & were escorted to our table. We had a great table, right up front! The desserts were also great. There was a great selection of sweets & fruits. They also had coffee, tea, milk, juice & water. I only got a couple pictures of the treats... there were a bunch of tables & many more choices than what I have in my pictures.

There were people who stood up at the railing a while before Wishes started but most people waited until just before to stand up. I took the boys over to the railing and found us a nice spot. There was plenty of room… until a very rude lady came up & decided to stand right next to us, even with plenty of room down the railing a bit. She had on a big backpack and kept swinging sideways & hitting Zach in the head with it! I finally told her what was happening so she could stop. Instead of apologizing, she acted annoyed. Then she kept creeping more & more into our “territory”. Turns out she was trying to save space for her family. That’s fine & all but no need to be so pushy about it. In most cases, people were putting their kids in front & standing behind them. But this lady just had to be right up against the railing. Finally some people next to us, on the other side, stepped back & told us the boys could stand there. Aside from the one rude family, everyone else was very nice & there was plenty of room. Tim actually stayed at the table & could see just fine. If we do it again, I think we’ll just sit at the table if it’s close enough.

The one mistake I made for this party was booking it on a night that the park closed at 10pm, right after Wishes. EVERYONE was leaving the park so it took us quite a while to get out. But luckily we just had to walk over to the Contemporary to our car. We’ve also learned that our GPS likes to act strange when leaving the Contemporary… this happened to us in 2011 too… it took us some back way and we ended up getting lost. We finally got back to the resort around 11pm & all got to sleep very quickly!

Up next: Swimming with Sharks!

What a great day and night at MK!!!
My boys really like the queue at HM too.
To bad about Splash it was down a LONG time!
Good for you braving Stitch. I really hate that ride. I haven't been on it since 2005.
The dessert party looked great except for that rude lady! I relly wish the weather wouldn't have ruined our plans for it. I will definately book it next time! Were those canolis I saw??? DH and I LOVE canolis!!! YUM!

Do you have an iphone? How do I get that countdown??

Great updates, Amy. It looks like a fun afternoon of swimming despite the code brown. ;)

So now you've ridden Stictch and you don't have to go back. :lmao::lmao: That ride is just awful.

Love the pics from the dessert party and the castle show and fireworks. pirate: to that pushy lady!

I love the pictures of the castle all lit up and changing colors! What a great view!

Sorry about the pushy lady....even the Happiest Place on Earth has a few rude and grumpy people! :upsidedow I'm glad you didn't let her ruin your fun!

Our GPS did not like driving around WDW either. We got "lost" several times.

Hi Amy! :wave2:

Yay for 60 days till your next trip!

I'm going to have to go back and catch up on your report, but I was lazy and just read the most recent post. :upsidedow

You got some fantastic pictures of the boys at dinner. They are getting soooo big!

You also got some great photos of Tink from Wishes! :thumbsup2

What great pictures from your dinner at Chef Mickey's!

Bummer about Splash still not being open. Sorry- Stitch is not a suitable replacement!

The night pictures you posted from the TTA are just gorgeous. Love the colors. The castle, too. Yeah, I can see the draw of being able to sit and watch the castle change colors while indulging in some yummy treats, waiting for Wishes. Yup!

FANTASTIC picture of Tink flying. You can tell that it is a fairy, and not just a blur flashing across the sky like in most pictures. Nicely done!

Good tip about scheduling the dessert party! I'm glad you just had to head back to the Contemporary.

I know exactly where your GPS took you from the CR. Did that route ourselves in 2009.

There was a couple code browns that week in the kiddie pool. :firefight

We were packing a lot into our park days on this trip since we were limited on the number of park days we had. Some days it seemed like too much but this was a good day.

The dessert party really was good & yes, I believe there were little canolis!

Search for wdw countdown & you should find the iphone app. :thumbsup2

I won't be feeling the urge to visit with Stitch again any time soon. ;)

The castle was so pretty & it was nice to sit & enjoy it for a little while before Wishes.

I don't know why those grumpy people even bother going to Disney. Maybe they are even more grumpy at home!

The only place we ever had GPS trouble was leaving the CR... two different times. You'd think we would have known better.

Hi Amy! :wave2:

Hi Julie!! Nice to "see" you! What are you up to these days??

I was pretty happy with the Tink pictures. :thumbsup2

We always have fun at Chef Mickey's. We were a bit worried that Chef Mickey's & the dessert party would be too much for one night but I really wanted to be able to leave the car at the CR for a few hours so we didn't have to deal with the monorail after. It worked out really well... until we got lost! :rotfl:

Seeing Wishes from the side makes some of the fireworks seem a bit off center but the close up view of Tink (and lack of crowds) really made it worth it. I'm sure we'll do it again some day.

I know exactly where your GPS took you from the CR. Did that route ourselves in 2009.

There was a couple code browns that week in the kiddie pool. :firefight

They were pretty good about getting the pool shocked & re-opened quickly after those code browns! Luckily that one was the only one that really effected us. I think we were walking by there when they were closing due to anther one at some point but we either waited to swim or weren't even planning to go??

The first time our GPS took us out the back way we didn't get very lost. It was fun to see the monorail service station. The second time we ended up on some roads that weren't even on the GPS map! We felt like we were in the middle of nowhere!
