I really don't know much about either of them But I think we are going to go again in October. We have only stayed at wilderness lodge before.

I have two kids ages 6 and 9. I think they would love All star movies with the giant buzz lightyear and woody.

We would love to have queen size beds and I understand all star movies is only full? So we considered coronodo springs as its the cheapest moderate that still have free dining.

any thoughts on these two choices?

I wish we could afford wilderness lodge but its not in the budges.

The price difference between these two above is only 200 for the week once we upgrade the value free quick service to the regular dining plan. vs the moderate that comes with the regular dining plan which we really want. :confused3

Coronado is awesome, and having stayed at both, would actually choose csr over wl. You kids will forget all about buzz and woody when they see the pool / slide/ playground at CSR.

I have nothing against the All Stars, and have stayed at them multiple times and enjoyed our stays. However, if it's in the budget we chose a moderate every time, for these reasons:

Queen beds (except CBR still has doubles)
Bigger rooms
Multiple covered bus stops
Pool slides
Hot tubs
Table Service restaruant
IMO, better landscaping
Boat and bike rentals (except I don't think there is boat/bike rentals at CSR)

CSR is a very nice and clean resort. The pool is great and the food court has a ton of options. The only drawback is that it is huge. If you don't like to walk before walking all day at the park you might wanna pay for a preferred room. IMO, the moderates are so much nicer than the values.

We've stayed at both CSR and AS and without a doubt would chose CSR if budget is not the issue. Bigger rooms, bigger beds, less craziness, and great bus service.

stay moderate my friend, you can always hop a bus to the allstars and take pics of woody and the gang...as a matter of fact...if ya havent done it yet,you should take half a day or so and tour the diff. resorts. you can even ask for a tour from one of the castmembers, take pics or video. then when you come home, you have some references to go by when planning your next trip. that for me is when all the fun begins.

Very good reasons to go for a mod!!

Paying for a preferred room at CSR isnt totally necessary. Preferred at CSR puts you closer to the main building and a bus stop, but not the main pool. Its fine if thats what you want. If you look at the map of the resort, (http://www.wdwinfo.com/resortmaps/cspringsmap.htm) you can easily stay in a regular non-preferred room and still be extremely close to a bus stop and the main pool. Building 8A & 8B (Cabanas, non-preferred) puts you right beside bus stop #4 and also the main pool. If you wanna be a bit closer to the main building then you should request 9A or 9B (also Cabanas non-preferred). Building 4 & 5 (Casitas) are not preferred and theyre right by bus stop #1 and the main building. (Preferred buildings at CSR are in the Casitas buildings: # 1,2,3).

For what its worth, they also have Quick service by the main pool. So depending on what you want, you might not even need to go to the main building for anything.

Im planning to request 8a or 8b b/c that will give me a short walking distance to the pool and its right beside a bus stop. And yes i realise that requests arent guaranteed, blah blah blah. :upsidedow Hope this helps.

One more thing...this trip we're staying at both AS Movies & CSR! I couldnt decide either so we decided to do both. 2 nights at movies and 6 nights at CSR. :woohoo:

Thank you for this... The table service is one perk I forgot about. I just don't think i can deal with a full size bed vs a queen. We are not large people but we recently stayed at a hotel with only full's and i didn't like it and kept telling him to scoot over!

So very true! :) thanks!

We love CSR and you just can't go wrong with it or the price. I call it "deluxe light". We love the down comforters, the h20 products, the dig site pool, huge hot tub, and great bus service. On top of it the resort is so peaceful and beautiful. Enjoy!!

Even though CSR costs more, from an amenities perspective, I believe it gives more bang for your buck than any value (for all the reasons mentioned by PPs).

In fact, from an amenities perspective, I believe CSR is the best bang for your buck on property (although the Port Orleans resorts give it a good run for its money).

Thanks. It was one of the only things left for the free dining would special. I wish we would of planned this sooner as It is now really hard to get dining reservations. But we have made a few.

I'm feeling better about coronado springs now. I never considered it before so I really know nothing about it except for seeing a few pictures online

This! When in doubt... the best bet is to do a split stay!

Agreed.

The TS restaurant had very good food when I was there last August.

With that said, I almost always stay at values--I spend so little time in the room and it is just me + another adult, so we have plenty of space. Bear in mind that bus service can be ANYTHING with ANY resort and can/will vary from day to day and week to week.

I visit WDW at least 3x/ year and have stayed in all of the values (except AoA) multiple times and all of the moderates (CBR x4, POR x4) and there is no single resort that had outstanding bus service for everything every day.

CSR
also the breakfast buffet at CSR is only a QS credit!

I will always say to pick a moderate unless its a financial stretch. We enjoy the values and have stayed at all of them. But I have to save a chunk of change that is very necessary for my non Disney life to stay at one over a mod.

To me its about the landscaping that the mods have. You feel very transported to another time and place and while I love Disney, I don't necessarily want to walk out of my room and be staring at a four story tall Mickey Phone or guitar if you get my drift.

I was booked at CSR, found out dd was probably going to need a hearing aid (that insurance does not cover) and changed over to Pop (which I love). But dh and I knew instantly we just did not want to be in a value. We love the mods and have been wanting to return to CSR for years. So I switched back and we decided to just cut back a bit at home and we are so glad we did. Again, Pop or any value is great but for us the theming and amenities of a moderate are worth the pricetag.

We stayed once at AS Sports and many times at CSR. I can't forsee a situation where we would ever stay at All Star anything ever again. We are now DVC members, so I doubt we'll ever stay at CSR again. However, CSR is a wonderful resort. For the price difference CSR measures reasonably well even against deluxe resorts. There were many times over the years where we wanted to stay deluxe, but what we wanted was not available. CSR became our go-to second choice and we like it a lot. :earsboy:

IMHO it's not even close...No disrespect to ASM.

From the 2nd best Feature pool on Dis property, to the Comfy Queen beds to the great TS rest. and Yummy Pepper Market ---> (QS for an awesome buffet)
Oh And how did I forget, The absolute best Bus system of all the resorts I stayed in or visited... By FAR. Have a wonderful trip.:thumbsup2
