Bumps, bruises, too many teenagers & swimming with sharks! NEW 11/17 pg. 32

Man, kidney stones are the worst! I've had 4 and they're no walk in the park. Poor Alex. I hope the meds help and he doesn't have to deal with them his whole life.

Love the pics of the new Dumbo! It looks amazing! Cute pictures looking down on your family from above. ;)

Sounds like a very productive MK morning so far. Hopefully you don't run out of steam to complete your very busy day!

You are one busy mom!

Great update; I know that Mark cannot wait to see the Dumbo area and I sent him one "sneak peek" picture of yours...but I told him he can't see the rest. ;)

You got a lot accomplished in that short amount of time.

I'll keep Alex in my thoughts and prayers, Amy. I hope the medicine helps him. I love your Dumbo pictures! I cannot wait to see and ride it. Looks so bright and colorful! :thumbsup2

Amy, I am getting all caught up!

So sorry to hear about Alex. Sure hope he is doing well and medication helps. I hate to see a child in pain.

Your timeshare looks nice. Lots of fun at the pool area!

Never done HDDR. It looks like lots of fun and the food looked great. Glad you had a good time.

Great morning in MK! Loved the new area when we were there.

Hope you have a great time in New York!

It has been super crazy around here as well!!
Can I just tell you that I am beginning to HATE baseball. DS11 was in a couple of allstar tournaments and they are just never ending!!
It's finally over now, well for us anyway. There's another tournament this weekend but we opted out. DS11 was sick of practicing 4X a week (yes 4x!!) when he could be playing. We now know he doesn't LOVE baseball that much.
Live and learn.
Hope Alex is feeling better. I remember you talking about it back before the April trip. I can't believe it took that long to see a specialist. Glad it's not too serious and he'll be ok.
Loved your update- I just LOVE MK! Can't wait to hear about the dessert party. I had to cancel ours the day before b/c the weather was going to be awful. I didn't want to see there in the pouring rain.
Maybe we'll make it next time.

Replies later... Sorry I didn't get to another updatae this week! We're leaving for New York City tomorrow!! We have a very busy, fun weekend planned, including a DIS meet on Sunday with KathyRN137!!

I'll be back into Disney planning mode when we get back... we'll be close to 60 days until my October girls trip & in the early stages of planning for the next family trip in April. :cool1: And of course, I'll be cranking out the rest of the updates to get this TR finished before the October trip.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Have a great time!! I am so jealous you get to see Kathy ;), isn't she just fantastic!! I can't wait to read about your NYC trip!!

I have had only a teeny tiny bit of DIS time lately, since school has started back. Glad I got to stop by and visit with you here for a minute before you go to NYC. Cool that you and Kathy get to meet up. :thumbsup2 You should get in touch with Brookelizabeth, too! She is in NYC.

Have a great trip!!!

I LOVE the Dumbo pictures! So very fun and the colors are just popping.

Looks like a very very productive morning. Glad to hear that you are getting news and info and in with doctors, bummer that it is something you'll have to monitor ongoing like that but at least now you know. New York should be a blast!

Dumbo was so cool! They've really done a nice job with that whole area - I can't wait to see the next phase when it opens.

I did not know about Alex's kidney stones. Wow! I have been hearing about younger and younger kids with kidney stones lately. I hope that his meds do lower his calcium level and you get a good report next visit. I hope he also gets used to his meds so they not irritate him as much.

Woo Hoo for the upcoming NYC trip!

Loved this update. I felt like I was taking the walk back to Dumbo with you. Amazing to watch the crowds thin out from Main Street to Dumbo.

Looks like a fun ride on Space Mountain!

There are definitely more kids getting kidney stones! It's pretty crazy. Luckily we are close to Boston & some great doctors.

We were off to a good start that morning!

You have been busy! Hope things are calmer for you soon, and you can do some Disney planning!

Gorgeous morning at the Magic Kingdom! I do love mornings in the parks! So nice! You got some great pictures in the new Dumbo area!

Things are still busy so far this week but I think once I get caught up, I'll have some more time by the weekend. I can't believe how fast the weekend is flying by!

October 5 - 13, so we will work something out and find a place to cross paths. Sorry we will miss the boys, though.

Nice pictures from Magic Kingdom. The water feature on the Dumbos now really adds to that attraction. We got to experience 'soft opening' of the interactive queue on our trip, and it is fabulous.

Hope you get all the medical issues cleared up completely and quickly for Alex. We do not like our DIS kids going through pain. :(

We'll definitely have to plan a time/place to meet up once we get closer to October. :thumbsup2

I LOVE the water at Dumbo - it really is a beautiful ride! I can't wait to see the interactive queue!

Medical stuff is at least under control for now... but it'll be ongoing.

Sorry to hear about Alex's kidney stones. I hope he hasn't been too uncomfortable. There's nothing worse than seeing your kids in pain. :(

What a great start at MK- Looks like a beautiful day, and I hope it stays like that for you.

Love the rope drop show. You got lots of great pictures of it.

I enjoyed the walk over to Dumbo with you. I have never been on Dumbo :-)duck: while my Disney fan card is taken away), so I really appreciate seeing the pictures.

Good redneck ride photos- awesome that the words don't cover the boys' faces!

And I would have to say that your pictures in Pooh are not so shabby!

Somehow Alex didn't have much pain with the kidney stone... hopefully he doesn't get any more.

I love the opening show at MK! I know they have been playing with the openings at the different parks, but hopefully they keep MK the way it is!

I'm all caught up!!:thumbsup2

I'm glad the boys liked Disney Quest! My boys loved it as well. I agree about Cyber Space Mountain!! It was definitely more intense than I expected it to be.

Love early mornings at MK!! The details at Storybook Circus are amazing! We loved it! It looks like a successful morning so far!:thumbsup2

Your NYC trip sounds like fun!! I hope you have a great time!!:goodvibes

Cyber Space Mountain is CRAZY! Not sure if I'll try it again... in a less intense version of course.

Can't wait to see the rest of the new stuff at MK!

Man, kidney stones are the worst! I've had 4 and they're no walk in the park. Poor Alex. I hope the meds help and he doesn't have to deal with them his whole life.

Yikes! 4 kidney stones! I hope you don't get any more.

We really enjoyed Dumbo! We hadn't been on it in many years so it was a fun treat to ride the new one.

You are one busy mom!

Great update; I know that Mark cannot wait to see the Dumbo area and I sent him one "sneak peek" picture of yours...but I told him he can't see the rest. ;)

You got a lot accomplished in that short amount of time.

I can't wait to see the rest of the new Fantasyland stuff... it's going to be amazing when it's all done!

I'll keep Alex in my thoughts and prayers, Amy. I hope the medicine helps him. I love your Dumbo pictures! I cannot wait to see and ride it. Looks so bright and colorful! :thumbsup2

Thanks Kelli! So far Alex is doing well. The 2 week follow up blood work came back OK so that's good news.

The colors of the new Dumbo & Barnstormer rides are very vivid! And so pretty at night too!

Amy, I am getting all caught up!

So sorry to hear about Alex. Sure hope he is doing well and medication helps. I hate to see a child in pain.

Great morning in MK! Loved the new area when we were there.

Hope you have a great time in New York!

You should definitely check out HDDR sometime. I think you would all love it! It was a lto of fun.

New York was fun - I'll have an update on that soon.

It has been super crazy around here as well!!

Wow - busy baseball season! Zach's league doesn't have all stars until 9, which will be next year. It would be great for him to make it but the families that do, are busy so far into the summer. I'm glad it's over for you now. I hope you get to enjoy the rest of the summer... what's left of it!

Bummer that you had to cancel your dessert party! I'm sure you'll get there sometime.

Have a great time!! I am so jealous you get to see Kathy ;), isn't she just fantastic!! I can't wait to read about your NYC trip!!

Kathy IS fantastic! And we had a great time meeting up on Sunday. :thumbsup2

Have a great time in NYC! :cool1:

Thanks Mary Ellen!! We had a great time.

Yuck for you that school has started back. I think you win the prize for the earliest school district to go back to school - at least that I know of. We have three more weeks to go.

I almost got to meet up with Brook but I didn't get her message until after they had left Times Square on Saturday night. We were exhausted & had to pack so we called it a night early that night!

Have a great time on your trip to NYC!

Thanks Jackie!

Have a great time in New York, Amy and family.

Thanks Kathy!

Enjoy your trip to NYC!

We had a great time! Sorry we didn't get to meet up! Your trip is right around the corner!!! Have fun!

Thank you for all of the well wishes for our NY trip! We had a great time & I'll write an update (and share pictures) later but I want to get another Disney updated posted since I already have it written. I hope to have more time this weekend to write some more updates & share our NY trip with you. :thumbsup2

When I left off, we had spent the morning at MK visiting the new Fantasyland, Tomorrowland & the old Fantasyland. Moving on...

After Pooh, the boys tried their hands at pulling the sword from the stone:

It wasn’t meant to be.

Up next was Peter Pan:

Then we were off to see some ghosts. As of April, the construction across from Peter Pan looked like this:

After Haunted Mansion, we decided to stop for lunch. I left Tim & the boys sitting outside of Columbia Harbour House & went down to Pecos Bills to get my beloved Taco Salad. I met back up with the family & we went inside CHH to order. After ordering, I took the boys upstairs to find a seat. Luckily it wasn’t busy so we never had any problem with sitting down before we had our food.

After lunch we split up. Alex wanted to see Hall of Presidents (and Tim can never say no to air conditioning) so Zach & I went to explore the Robinson Family Treehouse. I was really excited to see this with him because I knew Alex wouldn’t appreciate it & he would.

I hadn’t walked through the tree house since Tim & I were there in 1997! I absolutely love all of the fun details & was so happy to watch Zachary discover them.

After the tree house, we stopped for a dole whip. I got the pineapple with pineapple and Zachary got a root beer float.

We met back up with Tim & Alex. Alex wanted a popsicle so we tracked one down for him then stopped at the shooting arcade. This was the first time the boys had played in there.

We worked our way over to Splash Mountain only to find it closed… and of course, BTMRR was closed for refurb. We decided to hop on the train & head out of the park for a mid-day break. Alex was NOT happy! Splash Mountain is his absolute favorite & was really disappointed that it was closed. We hoped it would be open again later that night when we returned. But would it be??

We had to get out the boys’ “rules” cards & look at the one about “sometimes a ride will be closed”.

Ok – I forgot about this until looking back at my notes… Julie (mousescrapper) had asked me to pick up a pair of Mickey (or more like Minnie) ears for her little niece. When the train station reached Storybook, the boys & I got off and I took them for one more ride on Space Mountain. Tim stayed on the train & headed to Main Street to find “Chapeau” and get Julie her ears. It was funny because Tim would text me questions so I would text Julie & text back to Tim. I should have just given Tim Julie’s number! Fortunately he was successful & the boys were happy that they got another ride. After Space we walked down Main Street to meet up with Tim and head back to the resort.

We got to ride the Avengers monorail back to the TTC:

Up next: Resort Tim, Chef Mickey & the dessert party

We probably should not let your boys know that a certain five year old girl walked up to the sword and pulled it straight out on July 1st.

You didn't happen to see a wayward mingo up there, did ya? :rolleyes1

Zachary got a root beer float.

A man after my own heart!

Loving your amazing day at the MK!

I thought for sure the two boys working together would get that sword out!

The boys seemed to really enjoy the HM queue.

Yeah, lunch at CHH and you got what you wanted. I love the upstairs seating.

Sounds like that was a really good split up with Hall of Presidents and the Treehouse. We enjoy the tour through the treeshouse when we have the time.

And no better way to reward yourselves for all that walking than with a couple of frozen goodies.

Great pictures from the treehouse and the train!

Hope you are able to make it back to an opened Splash. Love your rule books!

It looks like you had a fun day at MK. I still haven't explored the queue at HM. It looks like lots of fun.

Glad you enjoyed the treehouse. I can remember that from when I was kid. It terrified me then and my dad had to carry me the whole way. Jeremy and I both love it now. Tom not so much.

I had no idea they sold a root bear float! Jeremy and Tom would love those. We will have to check that out in November.

Love the pictures of the boys trying to get the sword out. They were determined!:rotfl:

Great pictures of Swiss Family Treehouse!! :thumbsup2

Too bad about Splash being down. I hope you get to ride it later on.:goodvibes

So cool that you got to ride in the Avengers monorail. Nick would be so jealous! We saw it numerous times on our trip but never got the chance to ride in it.
