Linking hotel reservation to other people?

Now that Grand Gatherings are gone, can you still link your hotel reservation if you're traveling with a group? Available online or just by phone?

I assume if it's available for hotel reservation, it's also available for ADRs?

when I booked my trip - it asked if there was someone meeting us & if they had already booked - I noticed since my sister is suppose to go with us (we will see - so far I don't think she will come up with the money)

And it asked you that online? Do you remember if it asked for you for the guest's name or their confirmation number?

I believe it asks for the guest's name and their check-in date. You may need their confirmation number as well. I, personally, would call it in.

No, you cannot link ADR's. You can either book ADR's for your entire group or, if you have separate reservations at one restaurant around the same time, ask at the podium if you can be seated together. There is no guarantee and you may have to wait longer. If you want to be together at a meal, best bet is to make an ADR for the entire group.

Three years ago we booked a trip online and thought we had linked our reservation to my mom and dad's. For some reason, I ended up having to call Disney a few weeks following our booking and found out that they were not linked. I would make a call to check and make sure.

As for ADRs, we made our reservations for our entire group rather than separate reservations. It was not a problem.

When My sister goes to Disney at the same time we do we always have our reservation linked together so we can get rooms close to each other. They always give us a travel with number and then you give the other family the number and have it linked to their reservation.

We traveled as a group 1 year ago but Grand Gatherings has since been discontinued. They used to handle groups and make sure everything was linked which is why I'm trying to figure out how it works now. Calling to verify is definitely good advice.

I have two reservations for November that are linked with a "grand gathering" number. It's written exactly that way on the ressies. I made the reservations about 3 months ago. I know they did away with the grand gathering events, but they seem to still be linking with the same designation on some reservations.

Fantastic to know. The Disney site doesn't make mention of it at all anymore so I figured the whole thing was gone.

I called to ask if I could request nearby or adjoining rooms to my brother and his family. CSM told me I just needed their reservation number so our reservations could be linked together. I called back and had no trouble linking them. I don't think I was given a grand gathering number. My SIL was even able to change both our reservations at the same time when we decided to change our resort from POR to AoA.
