The Force is Strong in This One: SWW and Celebration VI, Disney Done Differently

When Scotty and I went in February it poured one of our days. My top part stayed dry because of my wonderful Mickey Mouse poncho but from the knees down I was miserable!! When we got back to the hotel they gave us a stack of newspapers to use in our shoes to dry them out. My poor shoes were so bad that they didn't dry over night. Thankfully I had spare shoes.

It took me a while to warm up after the day in the rain but we stuck it most of the day. When it rains it clears out in the parks, I love that.

I remember about the rain in your TR, but didn't remember about the newspapers.

Tink, I have to get to bed but had to comment...LOVE the pics, but my old eyes need them bigger please!

Tip to swallowing pills and YES it does work, try it yourselves!
Place the pill under your tongue and forget about it while you take a swallow of your drink...it will AUTOMATICALLY go down...come on. You KNOW you want to see if it works.

Huh, I have no problems with swallowing pills whatsoever (in fact I love to show off how many I take in one gulp ) but I'm gonna have to test that theory out!

Hey Everyone, speaking of Day 12, I am getting there. I hope to have this TR finished before we head to Celebration VI. And speaking of Celebration VI, the schedule came out today! I can't figure out which icon to press on the app, but I did find it through the apps search feature.

I was hoping to update yesterday, but we ended up at the MK. So after having fun for a couple hours I got home to finding the schedule for Celebration VI on the internet. The rest of the evening we spent reading about the panels.

The phone app for C6 wasn't working on my phone. But after uninstalling and reinstalling it now shows the schedule on my phone!!

Going now, to download the pictures from Day 12 to photobucket and hopefully should be cranking out updates soon.

How could I forget this M&G from Day 11? The rain had become a fine mist that felt wonderful and cool. I think it was Melissa who gave us the heads up that Ventress was soon coming out for her M&G. So after buying the costume at the Mall we headed to see Asajj Ventress.

Anakin was very excited about this. He had one of her trading cards for her to sign!! The rain was bothering his eyes and he was nervous about meeting ventress. He asked for his hat. He wanted the rain out of his eyes, but he also wanted the calming he gets from deep pressure.

The line was forming and there were quite a bit of people. Someone asked who was the next character and the cm said Ventress. All of the sudden the majority of the people in queue got out. Leaving just us and 2 other families!!

The children of one of the families was asking Anakin where he got his cool Boba Fett costume. He told them all about it. Every detail you could imagine including that it's 30% off and if you have an annual pass you get that discount on top of it!! Remember this family, we will see them Day 12. You'll never guess what one of the kids was wearing?!

The Ventress M&G was awesome! She took lots of time with each person because there was hardly anyone in line. Anakin overcame his apprehension about her and loved this "bad guy", this villian with a heart.

Thanks! Yes, she is very thin! Maybe I should put that picture up for inspiration? I was up almost 10 pounds since you were here in Oct, YUCK!! But I am working on it and doing toning. After seeing myself in the SWW, I know I have to do something. DH felt the same. He lost a ton of weight and his costumes for C6 are now baggie. He's been working on them though.

He is feeling much better. Thanks for asking.

Ventress is not from the movie series. She is a villian in the Clone Wars series. She first made her appearance in the Clone Wars movie. We met so many Star Wars fans who are against the Clone Wars series. Maybe against isn't the right word? But they are definately not fans of Clone Wars. We are fans of both! In fact, our Friday nights are usually stay at home nights because we watch Clone Wars as a family. The only other tv show we watch together is Jane by Design on ABC Family.

I do digress, sorry. The reason most of the people in the line left, was that they were mostly little boys and they wanted to see Captain Rex or Commander Cody.

Friday was Grumpy's graduation from high school!!

Once again, we checked into The Palms Hotel and Villas. Upon check-in we were informed that we were given an upgraded room!!

To Anakin, the best thing about check in was our room key!!

A cm named Sandy was very helpful. She gave us all kinds of tips and information. She even gave Anakin a brilliant idea! To hold his mask at the side so that it appears like a helmet instead of a mask for the pictures!

Oh he was so excited to get his package! He'd really like to play with it, but from what I've read they are fragile. I told him he needs to keep it "mint, in the box"!

Dh is really good at thinking ahead. When we ordered it, he knew Anakin would want to play with it. So he started searching for an inexpensive alternative online. He found a Lego frozen carbonite Han Solo at a great price! He hid it for until the real one arrived. So now he has his for display and the Lego one to play with!

How cool!!! And what a brilliant idea that your dh had.

As they were posing, Boba noticed dh was a jedi. He abruptly stopped posing and grabbed dh from the street. He brought him to his knees as he and Anakin held him hostage. Anakin was so excited declaring, "I'm arresting Dad!" It was priceless!!

handed Kit Fisto a Kit Fisto Star Wars trading card to sign. There was quite a bit of conversation over the card. Everybody wanted to see it. He gave Shaak Ti the autograph book to sign.

I dont' know who those characters are... but I am glad that they took some extra special time for Anakin!!!!

Light Side, Dark Side or Lunch? Yes…

While Anakin was visiting with Shaak Ti and Kit Fisto, dh was talking with one of the cm. He suggested we head straight to the Fett area because Jango Fett would be there soon. We followed his advise!
Neither dh nor I put 2 and 2 together until the cm and people in line did! Here are some Father-Son pictures.

We stopped by the Fab M&G and asked Dylan when we would be able to catch Jedi Mickey or Darth Goofy. He told us to follow him as he was walking. He was heading back stage and told us that Jonathan would be out with Jedi Mickey and suggested when we should come back. Before we knew it, he had Storm Trooper Donald and Darth Goofy right in front of us! It was a surprise M&G for Anakin! The force is strong with this one!

I took a bunch of pictures but it was difficult to see what I was snapping because there were tears in my eyes. This was so unexpected. He was extremely excited and happy! Dh and I were very grateful and appreciative.

The only Disney experience I can liken this to, was back during the Year of a Million Dreams we were awarded Dream Ears because we were at a particular place at a particular time at the Animal Kingdom.

Anakin thought it was absolutely hysterical that Darth Goofy was wearing his boxers on the outside of his costume. He discretely told Goofy that usually people wear their underware inside their pants, but his name is Goofy so it’s ok to wear them on the outside, which is goofy. Donald and Goofy got a kick out of this.

We thanked Dylan, Goofy and Donald for such a magical moment!

What special meet and greets. I love that you got the “father son” shots.. and Darth Goofy and Storm Trooper Donald are too cute!

Another lightsaber?!​

There was a lightsaber that looked like a gun. He determined that a green one would be kind of like a Boba Fett gun and it would be different than any other of his lightsabers. He said it would make him stop worrying about what he left behind at home and it would be exciting to have a different kind of light saber.

Good for Anakin to be able to compromise and get a bit creative.

Mickey M&G​

It was almost the time that Dylan told us to go find Jonathan for the Jedi Mickey M&G. We walked over there and found a Jonathan right away! But this was not the Jonathan we were supposed to fine. He sent us to a shady spot by the ABC commissary and told us he would motion when the Jonathan we were suppose to see was there. We opened the cooler and drank some water and ate some fruit I had packed. I opened up Anakin’s costume and we put frozen bottles of water around him while we waited. We got the signal and headed over to the M&G. The “real” Jonathan was very helpful and Anakin got to meet Jedi Mickey!

Jedi Mickey didn’t know what to make of Boba Fett with a lightsaber. He acted scared of the lightsaber, which tickled Anakin’s fancy.

Mickey helped Anakin to get into a pose. It was very sweet and this turned out to be my favorite Mickey picture!!

Into position..

Mickey was still acting scared of the light saber. He gently took it away from Anakin and gave it to us. Then motioned for Anakin to put on the mask and helped him into another pose.

He stopped and talked to us again. In the adjoining store, a man began screaming at people to move. As he approached our area, he was yelling at everyone. The manager stopped him. Right at us. Anakin was scared by his yelling. The manager handled the situation very well. At first he was pointing his finger at the guy and it made the man even more irate. So he put his hands on the squeegee and kept them there as he calmly asked the man to lower his voice and leave. The man was in this managers face saying how he had just as much right as anyone to be in the store. The manager asked him to please calm down or he would call security. The man quieted down and left the store.

Darth’s Mall was relatively empty. R2D2 and C3PO were out!! I went over to Melissa to see how much longer they would be out. She said two more minutes. So another attempt to see them was foiled again! I told her that’s ok, we will be back tomorrow. I asked her what she suggested and she told us to be there by 9 the next day and she would make sure we were the first family to see them!! I went back to Anakin and dh and explained to them that we would see R2D2 tomorrow

He plays with his Star Wars Lego characters every day. We are seeing some great progress in his play too. Back in 2010 and 2011 his play was scripted from the movies. Now he has expanded his thinking and one of the things he plays is Jar Jar's restaurant, the only item on the menu is pizza though, lol.

Cue rooster crow! Wakey, wakey, eggs and bakey! It’s 6am, time for medicine and time to get a fast pass for autographs! AUTOGRAPHS?! Guess who’s wide awake!?

He went right to his new costume and tried to open the sealed package. It wouldn’t budge. He handed dh and I the costume and his smile was beaming to wear it. I put the package back, and dh explained to him how the temperatures were going to soar today, the Boba Fett costume would be too hot to wear. It’s wasn’t going to be overcast or rainy like the day before.

I helped him into the Obi-Wan costume and shorts. In his words, “but nobody will give me compliments in this costume, it’s not as special.” I assured him that this costume was more sensible and that people will like it, even if they don’t comment about it. “But it’s Bonus Boba Weekend”, he worried.

We got to DHS a bit later than DH did the day before. He said there were many more cars in the parking lot than the morning before. He prepared us to wait, and we decided who we were going to see on the way in. I picked James Arnold Taylor (voice actor who portrays Obi-Wan in the Clone Wars) . Anakin picked Michonne Bourriague (the actor who portrayed Aurra Sing in Star Wars Episode 1), which was where dh ended up by default. He was contemplating getting Anakin a wrist band for Michonne, then going back to get his own wristband for Nikka Futterman, the voice actress who portrays Ventress in the Clone Wars. But he ended up getting a wristband/FP for Michonne too.

While in line for the FP, Melony a CM started talking to Anakin about SWW. She continued on greeting guests and answering questions. A few minutes later, she came back with a surprise for Anakin! A Droid Factor toy, a Chewbacca and some droid pieces!! He loved it! And this was just the first of a day full of magic and surprises. The Force is Strong in This One!!

The sun was shining bright. We had our FP/wristbands. We were all set to go, when I remembered that I forgot the suntan lotion. I told them to get in line to enter and I’ll run back to the car. But dh being the chivalrous guy he is, went instead. We got to see the opening Storm Trooper “ceremony”.

Anakin said that he would like to do Jedi Training and the Padawan Mind Challenge. When the park opened, we headed towards Indiana Jones to get him signed up for Jedi Training. But nearing Hollywood and Vine he changed his mind. Just wanted to do the Padawan Mind Challenge. I back tracked a little headed over to the Sounds Dangerous building to sign him up for the mind challenge. He wanted to do the last one, which was Star Wars Episode 1 Trivia rather than the Clone Wars one. They said it was fine and gave us a return time.

It was only 8:20am so we decided to go on Toy Story Mania. There weren't many people in line. We got right on. Dh was at the exit when we got off. Anakin complained of feeling dizzy. We gave him a drink then he closed his eyes and went to sleep.

We headed straight for Darth’s Mall to see C3PO and R2D2. We didn’t see Melissa so we got in line. There weren’t many people in line. I think there might have been 10 people at the most. Everyone was sitting on the floor talking and waiting patiently.

Melissa walked by, and I said hi. She said she had been looking for us! She asked us to follow her, and parked us by the M&G exit. Anakin was still sound asleep. We woke him up just before the M&G. He said he still felt a little dizzy from TSM. We asked if he wants to see C3PO and R2D2 and he perked right up.

It wasn’t too long after we woke him up that C3PO came out waving.

He came right up to Anakin and said hello. Yes, C3PO is a talking character!

He led Anakin into the M&G. I’m not sure what all they talked about, but they talked a lot. Anakin was so happy. His eyes lit up despite being dizzy. He even gave good eye contact most of the time.

So happy his smile is contageous. Thank you, we are just missing Goofy, but he was having fun on his fishing trip. It was only a few minutes after 9am at this point in the day! We were off to a fabulous start!! The amazing thing, it just kept getting better and better.

It was awesome!!!! I don't like to get in the picture. I prefer to take them. As you can see, I tried to hide. She is a wonderful CM, we were very thankful for her.

She is pictured in the back of a picture of our first attempt to see R2D2 and C3PO, that didn't happen. She was just as wonderful that day, we were soooo close to seeing them. She brought C3PO over to wave to those of us who were so close. He did say hello.
