Let me first say first that this was our Honeymoon as we are a gay couple who live in New York and are legally married here and some other states but at Disney we really did not advertise it but still it was our honeymoon.
Second disclaimer is that I posted a report on another board already so some might have already read this. I still have all my notes so I figured I would post here too as I continue to write my pre tr (
click here) for our October trip.
I am starting this report on the plane ride down. I could not sleep the night before until an hour before I had to wake up. I showered and called a car and then said goodbye to Vinny.
Got downstairs and realized I put my shirt on inside out. lol. I go into bathroom in lobby (cameras everywhere) and fixed it. I walk outside and the car pulled up. I was nervous to stand outside as there was a murder the night before about 3 blocks away which the mugger took an IPhone and killed someone for it. Disgusting.
The trip to the airport was quick. he drove like a maniac. Got to airport and checked the bag curbside. I went inside and gave the lady my receipt for check in instead of my boarding pass. lol. I showed her the correct paper and she told me I had quick entry or something. She told me to see the guy to our left; I did and walked a line with no one in it. I almost get to the front when some guy in the long line asked why I was in the line with no line. Only thing I can think of is that I am a true blue member for JetBlue and I think it was a perk. Trust me the next line made up for it. Security moved slowly. I got through and proceeded to Dunkin’ Donuts and had a muffin and iced coffee for breakfast.
After I ate (it was not good) I went to the gate.
I had about a 30 minute wait then we boarded. I was the first person on. I felt special. lol
Boarding went quick and we left I think on time.
Bored on the plane. Took a self portrait.
Right now according to the map we are over North Carolina. 7:08 am
It was one big cloud all the way down it felt like.
I have music playing in the tablet which is 4 parks, 1 world CD. Love it.
Almost there.
Just hit little turbulence, dropped a little. Overall it was a great flight. Early.
Got off the plane quickly and went to the monorail. I chatted with some guy there. Then I went to the magical express. Had a seat on the bench by the window and then waited. After 5 minutes we were told we could board. Then we sat there for over 20 minutes waiting for people. I got the front seat.
The bus next to us, we got a yellow Mears bus.
Then we were off. Our driver was okay. He became my best friend when he said I would be first for drop off. I was the only one going to SSR. The movie they show on the bus was green for some reason.
The new resort. Might stay there in October. **Update – we are not staying there**
Got to the resort.
I had done online check-in and was told my room was ready. I was so happy. Now in December I met Bart and Melanie at the Madagascar MO meet and they said they stayed in the Grand Stand section and it was great. I put the request in for that section when I booked. The very nice CM then informed me I got the section. WOOHOO!
Then she gave me our "Happily Ever After" pins (I wore mine once being Vinny never wanted to wear his). She told me we were in room 8532 and gave me the map. I then turned to leave and when I reached the door the man there called for me. The CM behind the desk wanted me. I went back and she gave me a "Happy Birthday" pin. Then I was on my way.
Went to the room and the location could not have been better.
The pool was right there, the bus stop was a 2 minute walk. The pool also had a soda fountain so no walking to main building to refill. Our view was the parking lot and golf course.
Now I have to go to DTD for 2 things. I am tired so I take the bus. It wasn't too bad. When I arrived I proceeded to guest relations. A CM came over to ask what I needed. I said I was purchasing the Tables In Wonderland card and the Photopass+ card. Her face went blank. Lol. She had no clue what it was. She told me to wait in the line for the TIW card and she w find out about the other card. Quickly I was up at the counter getting my card. She told me I could purchase it there at the Photopass counter. Okay.
I got my TIW card and went to the other counter and a nice gay (peep of mine) CM helped me. When you buy it here he gives you a lanyard of the card with the price on it $199.00. Then you proceed into the store next door and see the cashier to the left. I was standing in line and another CM told me the guy across the way could help me. I go over and he was very nice but the card would ring up so he said to wait one minute. He then came back with my peep and something had to be done on the register to do it. I then paid and now had to go back to the photopass counter. Went to the guy and he had a what looked like a DVD case. He said he was going to break the seal, I said okay. Inside was my lanyard. He told me the disc had many stock photos. Now he had a hole puncher and punched holes in the card. I must have looked puzzled because he said it was only valid for 14 days. OK.
With the tax it came in at $213.00.
TIP --
On the day we went to tea I said to Vinny I wonder if you can get the photo at the restaurants offered without eating. After tea he went to the desk to ask. The girl she had no clue as he was the first to ask. She had to call a Supervisor. It turns out according o the supervisor you can. You go have the photo taken and wait for it then go to the photo pass desk and they can add it in digitally. I think this is great being you don't have the bad buffet food. lol
So I then went to have lunch. I chose T-Rex. I had the Caveman Punch

Mozzarella Sticks, Burger and Fries. $50.00 for this. Never again.
After lunch I went back to the room. I do believe I spoke to Timmie via text within this time. She asked if someone else could come to dinner. I said of course. I was treating Timmie to dinner at Paradiso 37 (they ended up not coming). I took a 2 hour nap. I was woken by a thunderstorm that produced hail. Here is a pic.

Then I went to meet Timmie. I think I was 10 minutes late. It was okay as her friend Sangria Pitcher kept her company. lol
She had ordered already and was having mac and cheese balls. I had a glass of sangria first then went onto the mangled margarita.
You can see the sangria behind it. Both were very good.
I had dinner which was fish tacos. Mahi Mahi, 3 of them. Way too much and only ate 2. Timmie had the chicken quesadilla app. Then for dessert I had --
which was --Paradiso 37 Chocolate Stack - Layers of Decadent Chocolate Cake and Creamy Chocolate Mousse Served on a Bed of Warm Caramel Sauce. Topped with Vanilla Ice Cream and Rainbow Sprinkled Whipped Cream $7.99
So GOOOOOD.
