HA room location at Kidani Village?

We're planning to book a 2 bedroom unit at Kidani Village in January 2013. Does anyone know where the HA rooms are located at Kidani? The last time we stayed at AKV, we were WAY down at the end (a killer walk, even though we had requested a specific location near the bus stop) in a standard room and just requested a riser for the toilet, but I think this time we will need the HA room. And, does anyone know how the bathrooms are different from the standard rooms? TIA!:goodvibes

The accessible units are scattered, not just in one location.

I have looked before for pictures of Kidani roll in shower units and haven't found any. Allearsnet.com has some AK villas accessible room pictures - But only the lodge, not the villas. From what we have been told by DVC guides/tours, the Jambo House accessible bathrooms are very similar to the lodge accessible bathrooms.
This thread has some pictures of a regular Kidani villa, plus some people's descriptions of how the regular and accessible one differ.

When we took tours, we were told the Kidani master bathroom with roll in shower was set up the same as the standard bathrooms, which have a huge shower. We were told the only differences we would likely notice in the bathroom would be the higher toilet, grab bars, roll under sink and the shower not having any step over as shown in the picture.

I posted these up after my November trip in the room thread it was just down the hall from the Main Lobby not far at all and it was a 2 bdrm lock-off (1 studio and 1bdrm combined) Savannah View

Oh, thank you.
I remembered seeing those, but could not find them last night - too tired.
I think ( if I ever have time) I should pull the picture posts out there and copy them to a new thread.

No problem Sue, just posted mine from VWL also.
We like to try different places when we go and I know its important for people to be able to see what the accommodations are like to know they will meet their needs so its usually the first thing we do when we walk into the room now.

Us too, but since we usually stay at OKW, I don't have much variety.

Thanks for the info, everybody. LOVE the pictures...that really helps out! The bathroom looks great, not sure I like the kitchen setup but I understand why it has to be that way, just that I don't need the wheelchair. But the bathroom will definitely make life easier and the trip more relaxing for me. And hello to Sue in MN from Duluth! Have a great (though most likely rainy) Memorial Day!

Rain and warm is better than rain and frigid cold! LOL

Hi! Could you explain to me what a "2 bedroom lock-off" is. My daughter is disabled and we are staying in Kidani Village in Sept. and I believe we have the exact room, room 7618 but we booked a one bedroom villa not a two bedroom.
Thanks,
PammyPoppins

A lock off means that there is a connecting internal door to the neighbouring unit. A 2 bedroom unit is made up of a 1 bedroom unit and a studio joined together. If you book a 2 bedroom lock-off then this door is unlocked so you can pass through to the additional studio room. If you book a 1 bedroom unit then the door will be locked off so that another party can use the studio next door. Both units have their own external doors to the corridor. You can also book a dedicated 2 bedroom which doesn't have the connecting door.

Thank-You so much for this explanation.
Thanks,
PammyPoppins
