Will You Chill Out if I Sprinkle You With Pixie Dust? The End p136 *New TR Link* p138

Whoo hoo for making it to rope drop! :cool1: I know that it's important to make it to opening in all the parks, but I feel like the one place you REALLY NEED TO is Hollywood Studios. Between everyone running to TSMM and trying to hit up the two mega coasters in WDW, it's easy to fall behind if you arrive late.

Your pirctures did make me feel like I was at RNRC! It's my favorite ride, and just seeing the alley made me all excited. I love that thrill you get from watching other cars take off as you wait in line. But, I'm like you, I'm not a huge fan of roller coasters. RNRC is the only upside down ride I've ever done. :sad2: And I refuse to do ToT anymore. One time was enough for me!:rotfl:

It's great that you all were able to go on both rides and not have to worry about TSMM FPs. A nice little reprieve from the usual madness that is a DHS morning. :rotfl2:
Between hitting up RNRC, getting 10:30 TSMM FPs, and taking a spin on the Great Movie Ride....you just described my ideal morning at that park! :goodvibes

:yay::yay::yay::yay: for making rope drop. I am surprised more people DON'T do it...it is amazing what you can get done at rope drop (or EMH's in the a.m.).

Sounds like it was the start of a great day and that you hit up some big attractions wtih not too long of a wait.

I think RnR is always busier because it breaks down so much more than TOT.

Love the photo of you guys on TOT!

Finally caught up with all the updates!

Great pictures as always. They really transport me to WDW and the parks.

Seems like you are all having a great time at HS - no drama!

Looking forward to reading more.

Finally I am caught up!

First i feel bad for your SIL. While i have maaaged to not toss my cookies i have come close a few times. Last year we rode everest then Khalie three times in a row...no line....Omg my world was spinning and my stomach doing flips. So bravo to Sil for not letting it end her day!

I was gla dto Nick was finaly well enough to go the next day. Poor kid! The good side to his not feeling well was your solo time with a book and a solo cup!

Wow thet SIL did the FP run and you did Rr and ToT. Never did RR (see tossing cookies above) but i love Tower. The theming is awesome. The first time i rode it i held Katie across the lap. I was so not prepared to leave my seat!

Cant wait to see if the rest of the day is as good!

Finally Joe has suggested that since he is a runner that he should run ahead for FPs on our next tril. Yay! It only took four trips for him to get there LOL

Yay for making it to rope drop!!!!!!!! :cool1: That always makes the plans run smoother, I agree!

So SO SOmuch smoother! Sorry, I got carried away there! :rotfl: I'm still not sure if my bro and SIL realize that they had a better day because they got to the park ON TIME! :cool1:

Love It!!!

:woohoo: for making rope drop at HS!

Can you believe it???? Admit it, you didn't think it was going to happen, did you? :rotfl:

I am so proud of your SIL for doing a great job getting FP for the family for an excellent time. What did that group do while you guys were getting your thrill on? I'm thinking, maybe Pirates again? :rotfl2:

:rotfl2: OMG - when I read that this morning I cracked up! If Pirates had been there, they would have been on it. I know that most of them did Stars Tours. My SIL may have sat that one out. :confused3 Not entirely sure. I think they rode it a few times. Other than that, I have NO idea. I never asked.

Once SIL learned to use the FP machine she was all over it. As you will see in the next update.

Wow, on your local "amusement" park story- I can see why you swore off thrill rides for awhile. That is horrible. Is the salt and pepper shaker that ride that has a cage on each end of the arm?

Yes - I don't even think they run Salt and Pepper Machines anymore. I haven't seen one in years. I swear, can you imagine someone pulling a stunt like that nowadays. Can you say...lawsuit for pain and suffering? :rotfl2:

I can't believe the line for RnR! Sounds like it went pretty quickly once the ride started loading though. I'm not sure that I have ever been in the stand-by for this attraction- either FP or SRL, so I loved seeing the pictures of the equipment.

It totally started to move, and it moved pretty fast. I was really happy with how quickly we got on.

Love the borrowed pictures of the RnR alley- going over to sub now!

You will love their TR. They are such a great mother-daughter duo and they always have a great time together.

I am :worship: at your pictures in the ToT queue. Really crisp and beautiful! I think this is the best themed line in Disney (sorry TSM).

I agree - totally the best theme anywhere. I mean, come on, it looks so real and so old and creepy. Wonderful job!

I love your redneck ride photo. Every group is amusing. Too bad you don't know who the woman in green is so you could give her a copy of your picture. Hilarious!

I know - there is always someone doing something funny in a big group photo like that. Usually when I ride ToT I get in an elevator with a screamer. It happens almost everytime. Ugh - sometimes I need earplugs. :sad2:

Holy cannoli, Day 5 already?
Glad to hear everyone was up early, and without a fuss!

I don't really think the first 2 days count since there wasn't much park time involved. :rotfl:

Great idea, you guys going to RnR and getting someone else to get the TSM fps! I wonder if I could con my cousin (eeyore04) into doing that on our DHS day... :rotfl2:

Well, if she is a non rider for RnR and ToT, then maybe she will. Hear that eeyore04 - special request here!

Great pics of the RnR line!! I was definitely getting in the mood. I want to ride this right now! Sept. 16 can not come fast enough!

It will be here before you know it. I always used to take a late August trip to WDW (before my kids did high school sports which start mid August) and I would always be going crazy by the beginning of August, so I know how you feel.

I always put my camera away too early too. I sort of panic I think, and need to get it away and secure right away, even though I have plenty of time. I'd like to try to get some alley pics next trip. I'll make that a goal!

That's exactly how I am. I think next time I just won't worry about being in the back of the line. I will just stop, take some pics, and then put my camera calmly away. By then the next group will be getting ready to come into the queue.

I think my jaw dropped while reading your amusement park story. :sad2: I would have screamed and cried and when I got off, punched someone. I don't blame you for having an aversion to thrill rides!

You know - that was back in the day that you could do stuff like that and not get in trouble. Can you imagine someone doing that now? Can you say - you're fired! I really was petrified. I do NOT like to hang upside down. Not a good thing for me. :sad2:

LOVE your pictures inside ToT! I was too nervous last time I rode to really appreciate the scenery.

I am like that too, but now I seem to relax more when I take pictures. It sort of calms me down. And this time I must have had the settings just right. :thumbsup2

Woo hoo for rope drop! We do love our days at DHS! Your pictures, as always, are fabulous.

Thanks! I was so excited about making rope drop. What a great way to start the day.

Someone may have gotten over their fear of thrill rides on the summer trip this year as well. :rolleyes1

Really? REALLY? REALLY? More - I need details. popcorn:: Can't wait to hear about this!

I promise to get to the rest of the replies tomorrow. I have a video I am working on and I want to do some more edits before I go to bed tonight!

Sounds like an excellent start to your day at DHS!! Yay for your SiL getting the FP for everyone!! I fell in love with RnR on my last trip. I'm glad you're able to enjoy some thrill rides now. How horrible to be left hanging on that ride. I would be scarred, too. Ahhh!!!! I LOVE ToT!! Favorite ride ever! So glad you got to enjoy it! Yay for the basic walk-on!! Can't wait to hear more!

Great start to the DHS day! I am hoping to get through the queue at TOT and then bail. It just looks cool.

You got a lot done in the morning - YAY for making rope drop and your SIL for managing to get all the FPS (I'm assuming that she didn't lose any tickets, since you haven't mentioned that)!

I'm a little late joining in, but I'm all caught up and loving your TR! :thumbsup2:cool1:

So glad your bro's family is finally starting to cooperate-- they had me worried there. I've traveled with extended family many times and there is always some sort of drama. :scared:

Can't wait to read more! Ohh the suspense! :lmao:;)

You got some fabulous shots inside the queue of ToT. Did you use a flash? I am amazed. I can never get anything good in there.
I am so glad this day is going smoother.

[
Yeah! They made rope drop and your SIL knew how to use the FP machine! I have to psych myself to go on Roller coasters too and I do love them! Unfortunately, I have a slight case of motion sickness but a pretty brave 7 year old that needs an adult companion for them. So I take a half of Dramamine and go. I can only go once every so many hours. We haven't been on RnR because she is not tall enough... I think next time.

That's great that dramamine works so well for you! I hope your 7 year old is tall enough to ride on your next trip. I find that if RnR gets a bit too "intense" in spots, I close my eyes and I'm good again!

I just love your pictures! I really need to make a mental note to take pics of everything next month.....food, rides, trees, characters.....I want to document everything !!!! :)

:welcome: aimee. Thanks for joining in. I think this is your first, but please forgive me if its not. I have a lot of new readers for this TR and sometimes I get a little confused.

You must be so excited for your upcoming trip. :cool1: Taking a lot of pictures is time consuming, but so worth it when you get home! :thumbsup2

Oh I LOVE your pictures of the Tower of Terror! I think it has the greatest theming. When I've been in December the lines have been so short I haven't gotten as good of a look as I'd like (not that I'm complaining, really), so I love pictures of the old hotel. And yours are great. Thanks so much!

Thanks! So glad you are enjoying the pictures. ToT does have a fantastic theme and I don't think you ever get to pose long enough to look at everything. Pictures definitely help with that.

Wonders will never cease! :rotfl2:

:eek::eek:

Did you buy a lottery ticket that morning?

Ye......, I mean NO! DOH!

Always nice to have someone do that run for you.

That was a huge help because I can never figure out the best plan of attach at HS. Now I know I just have to hire someone to get my FPs.

Hmm...wonder why? :confused3:rotfl2:

If that is a serious question, my intelligent answer is - I don't know - either more people are afraid of dropping then going upside down or the ride capacity is better on ToT.

I totally get that feeling. Good job overcoming your fear! :thumbsup2

I have to work on it all the time, but when I get off "scary" rides I am almost buzzing from the adrenaline. :thumbsup2

The others have already commented on the lady in front, so I'll just add a :lmao::rotfl2::rotfl:

Hadn't seen those figures in the windows. Cool!

That lady is a hoot! Poor thing - I hope she's not on the DIS boards and wonders over here by mistake. :scared:

Those figures are super cool.

W
ow, you must have been really bored. :rotfl:

:rotfl2: Ya think????? Actually, I took about 100 pictures on GMR to keep from scratchin my eyes out.

I am loving your report! Yay! for making rope drop, too!

:welcome: ddstratton! So glad you are enjoying my TR and there really is no better way then rope drop to start off the day.

You are so right. If you miss rope drop there is no way you can do the 3 big rides in the morning and then you are catching up all day long. I have made that mistake before. I like TSM and I hate to miss it, but it does screw up the day's plans.

You can thank Princess Caitlin for that. I love those alley pictures, too. they are super cool.

Really, no more ToT? The first time I did it (10 years ago) I really didn't like, but I swear its gotten milder. Either that or they see me coming and program it for an easier sequence. I really think its no as intense. I would love to know for sure.

:goodvibes

Really? Cool! It really was wonderful not having to get in the TSM FP line. That line was terrible back in December. I know they keep it moving, but who wants to spend their first ten minutes in the park in there? Certainly not anyone I know!

Sounds like a great start to your HS day. I think my girls are going to go on RnR when we go this month. It will be their first roller coaster that goes upside down. I just hope my contacts do better this time than the last time I rode it. I had a trip with horrible contact luck. I was wearing the weekly ones at the time. Only brought one extra pair and no glasses. First day of the trip at MK, rode space mountain and lost a contact. Next day rode RnR lost both contacts. Now I only had one contact for a week look trip. Luckily we had a car, drove to Costco to get a new box of contacts. It was the CM at guest services idea, and she gave us the directions to get there since this was probably at least 12 years ago so pre GPS, pre smart phones.

Great update! Love the ToT and RnR pics, I just can't do ToT again, but one day if I am feeling brave I haven't ruled out trying RnR, but that's as far as I'll go for now. I am sooo much a ride chicken! BTM is more my speed and I still scream my head off through the whole thing! LOL

:yay::yay::yay::yay: for making rope drop. I am surprised more people DON'T do it...it is amazing what you can get done at rope drop (or EMH's in the a.m.).

Can you believe it? We FINALLY made it! Woo Hoo!:cool1: I think its mandatory during the summer and on busy days. Makes such a difference.

Sounds like it was the start of a great day and that you hit up some big attractions wtih not too long of a wait.

Thanks to that first hour we got a lot done. My two must-dos were under my belt. :thumbsup2

I think RnR is always busier because it breaks down so much more than TOT.

I never thought about that, but you are probably right. It does break down a lot more.

Love the photo of you guys on TOT!

Thanks, but what about the lady in the green? :rotfl:

Finally caught up with all the updates!

Yeah! :cool1:

Great pictures as always. They really transport me to WDW and the parks.

So glad you like the pictures. I am happy with the ones I've posted so far. I sort of forget what's next. That's why I love TRs. The pictures tell me right back there.

Seems like you are all having a great time at HS - no drama!

Yet! :rotfl: No, seriously, I am kidding. This was pretty much a drama free day.

Looking forward to reading more.

I'm hoping to post again this weekend!

Finally I am caught up!

Woo hoo! :cool1:

First i feel bad for your SIL. While i have maaaged to not toss my cookies i have come close a few times. Last year we rode everest then Khalie three times in a row...no line....Omg my world was spinning and my stomach doing flips. So bravo to Sil for not letting it end her day!

Ugh - that sounds terrible. I don't like to do coasters too many times back to back. I don't get sick to my stomach, but sometimes I get a "coaster headache". I hate that.

I'm glad SIL was able to "toss" and then move on! ;)

I was glad to Nick was finaly well enough to go the next day. Poor kid! The good side to his not feeling well was your solo time with a book and a solo cup!

:rotfl: Red Solo Cup - You fill me up! :rotfl: Yup - who cares if you kid is sick as long as you have a cup with a beverage.

Wow thet SIL did the FP run and you did Rr and ToT. Never did RR (see tossing cookies above) but i love Tower. The theming is awesome. The first time i rode it i held Katie across the lap. I was so not prepared to leave my seat!

Ugh - sorry you can't do RnR. It's a great ride and I actually find the flips easier than that backward thing in EE. The first time I went on ToT I remember I had this long necklace on that just flew right up above my head. Crazy!

Cant wait to see if the rest of the day is as good!

It was a good day! :thumbsup2

Finally Joe has suggested that since he is a runner that he should run ahead for FPs on our next tril. Yay! It only took four trips for him to get there LOL

And he is just discovering this now? :rotfl2: Men!

I will never forget how I was left hanging on that ride. Up until that point I used to try everything. That all changed and I didn't ride anything for awhile. I am glad I am able to enjoy rides like RnR and Tot! They are both such awesome rides. And I was so happy we got there early enough to walk on. :cool1:

Yay so glad you made rope drop! And that everyone enjoyed the park! :cool1:

I always try to get a picture of the back alley in RnRC but they never turn out very good, I liked the ones you used, even if they were borrowed! :thumbsup2

OMG those pictures of ToT are amazing! I want to be there right now!

We love ToT, ride it a lot.:cool1: Can't do RnR, like thrill rides but can't do the upside down one, make us sick. DH can no longer ride SM as he gets queasy on it. So we avoid those rides.

Love the Movie ride, heck I can recite most of the dialog! Love old movies, so have seen just about all of the movies featured on the ride!:happytv:

Sorry it is taking me so long to get my replies done. I keep getting interrupted for one thing or another. '

Great start to the DHS day! I am hoping to get through the queue at TOT and then bail. It just looks cool.

You should do it. It's a wonderful queue. Probably the best ever because it just "fits" and its so unique.

I do think we are off to a good start today!:cool1:

You got a lot done in the morning - YAY for making rope drop and your SIL for managing to get all the FPS (I'm assuming that she didn't lose any tickets, since you haven't mentioned that)!

Nope - she didn't lose the FPs, but she did do something else that was Fast Pass related. Stay tune! popcorn::

I'm a little late joining in, but I'm all caught up and loving your TR! :thumbsup2:cool1:

:welcome: MissTink! You are never too late to join in for this TR. So glad you are caught up and enjoying this TR.

So glad your bro's family is finally starting to cooperate-- they had me worried there. I've traveled with extended family many times and there is always some sort of drama. :scared:

Yeah - I was worried, too. I was worried that they were having a terrible time and that they would never make it to rope drop. Things really turned around for them today. That was great to see.

Can't wait to read more! Ohh the suspense! :lmao:;)

I should be posting another update tonight or tomorrow, so stay tuned!

You got some fabulous shots inside the queue of ToT. Did you use a flash? I am amazed. I can never get anything good in there..

No flash. I just totally lucked out on the shutter speed settings. Seriously, I couldn't replicate those pictures if I wanted to. :rotfl: I am actually shocked as to how well they turned out. Beginner's luck!

I am so glad this day is going smoother.

You said it sister! Me too! :thumbsup2

Lovin' your trip report!

:welcome: Deemarch! Thanks for joining in. I'm so glad you are enjoying my TR. And I see you are another SSR owner, so can I get a woo hoo for SSR!~ :cool1:

Sounds like a great start to your HS day. I think my girls are going to go on RnR when we go this month. It will be their first roller coaster that goes upside down.

It was a great start to the day!

I hope your girls love RnR. The funny thing is - you don't even realize you are going upside down on the first loop. Gotta love that! :goodvibes

Ugh - what a nightmare. Good thing you fill your prescriptions at Costco, but what an inconvenience. I didn't realize contacts could pop out so easily. Wow! Good thing LJ's didn't pop out. That would not have been good.

LOL

I understand the whole ride chicken thing. Believe me, I do! I used strange little techniques to help me. Instead of dwelling on what could happen to me on a ride, I say to myself "self - today is the day I might die on this ride, so bring it on. I can't wait to be scared - bring it!" I know this sounds crazy, but it actually really works. When you do this its like laughing at your fears and making them a joke. It works.

And if all else fails - just close your eyes. It makes the right much less intense.

I will be back with the rest of the replies very soon!
