Un-Tangled-Getting My Life Back....PTR!! TR Started! 5/30

A personal tumble monkey AND a counselor! A woman of many talents! ;)

::yes:: Yes, yes she is. :thumbsup2

Millie - I love the flip flops. they are VERY cute and I am glad you were able to order the old style. SCORE!

You and me both, girl! So what are your shoe options?

It depends on our plans for the day at DW. If we are doing the same park from open to close, it is my Skechers gym shoes for me. If we are going to a park in the a.m. and then going back to the resort to rest/swim and then back out at night, I'll wear my comfy Nike flip flops in the a.m. and then my Skechers in the p.m. I'm not really one into the "look", but just the comfort.

I totally understand, that's why I love these so much, they offer both! My first trip to WDW I wore tennis shoes because I wanted comfort and proper support, but when I found a pretty flip flop that would do that.....it was all over with but the buyin! :thumbsup2 See what I did there? Nothing like your own joke.

I guess the discussion of shoes isn't going over so well.

I should be putting up soon the every changing saga of where we'll be staying and how the days are shaping up. :goodvibes

LOL... I can't comment on the flip flops because I just can't wear them The thing between the toe....so painful and wierd. I can't even stand up with them on, I swear. :rotfl:
I wear tennis shoes.

I hear you, I didn't use to be able to wear them unless they had fabric that went between the toes, now I can wear YB's leather, or what ever it's made of. As long as it's not plastic, now that really hurts. :scared:

Just so y'all know, I'm not looking for just the flip flops people wear, I'd like to hear about any comfy shoe they like wearing, or swear by when they go to WDW. :goodvibes :thumbsup2

I meant to comment before, but my signal was screwed up. I love the flips you bought! I found some sketchers flips that I love - bling on top and comfort and support in the sole. I usually go with tennis shoes or crocs and switch off from day to day - the days I wear crocs my feet and legs don't hurt. It's hard for me to go with them once the trend is over though. I have strange feet so it's real hard to find the comfort and support, and have the fit and shape right so I don't get blisters. :crazy2:

Whut up Cami!!!! :wave2:

:rotfl::rotfl: :rotfl::rotfl: :rotfl::rotfl:

I have been subbed for a while but I just read through everything this morning.... well, I mussent lie-- I skipped the shoe post!:rotfl2:

Glad to see many of my DIS friends here... many of which I am ignoring. Not on purpose, I just don't have much DIS time these days. :badpc:

I am so sorry for your friends DS. I remember you telling me about that. In his passing he has saved at least 2 lives. He will forever be remembered as a savior.

How cool that Maroo & Patricia will be joinin' ya!

Your kids are getting so big... I'm not sure they can be even considered kids anymore! LOL They are beautiful. princess::groom:

Thank you for sharing your story and I can't wait to hear more!!!!:goodvibes

Thank you!! I've bought some really comfy sketchers in the past!! Loved them, and then couldn't find them any more, I'll have to look around again. I had a pair of sketcher slip on's/flips that were brand new and wore them the entire time walking down into Carlsbad cavern's, not one blister, those shoes were awesome!! :thumbsup2

<Big heavy sigh> If you only knew the story as to why I don't like that name.....you would never use it again. But I won't make you feel bad.....this time. I guess it's my fault, I should have known one of the guys would see if they could push the limit.

Thank you for your kind words about my friend and her son. What you said is almost exactly what I shared with her, her son's life has helped so many others to gain theirs back.

I'm so excited about the gals coming on the trip! I think one is coming closer to the start and the other is coming at about the half way point, so I get some really great time with them both!! :yay: Mackie is really excited too, she can't wait to meet them both. :goodvibes

Yes, the kiddos are getting so adult like. I can't believe they are so grown up now. Mackenzie is still my girl, she still won't give up her Barbies and Littlest Pet Shop pets (even though she won't play with them), she still will hardly leave my side out in public unless she knows without a shadow of a doubt she's safe, which we all know is almost never. :sad2:
Bless her heart, she's at that waffling age between little girl and young lady. I think she's making the transition rather well though. :thumbsup2
And she's not afraid of standing up to anyone, that's another thing about being taller than most everyone. She's really starting to come into her own, I like what I'm seeing.

Tyler, <big heavy sigh> that boy is about to wear my patients thin. We're too much alike and that get's us into trouble sometimes.
He's at that stage in his life where he thinks he's smarter than his parents and talks to me as such. He's about to get his butt stomped really soon on one of his visit's home if he's not careful. I know it's him learning to assert his independence and trying to figure out the lines of being adult at home, but still!! I'd like to string him up like a pinata and beat him about the head and shoulders with his own limbs when he's being a stinker to me. Of course I'd never do this, threaten it, but never do it.
We had hoped having a summer working 40 hr. weeks to pay his expenses we refused to pay would humble him, but no such luck. We'll see how the school year goes.

All caught up--great intros! That'll be awesome to be with Mary and Pat! :cool1:

As far as the shoes go...well, I'm a guy. I'll let you guys talk. :confused3 :rotfl:

We'll let you out of the shoe talk this time, but just this once!

Helloooooo My Dis'ers!! :wave2:

We're on to PLANS-Day 1!!

I guess it's common knowledge that plans can change at the drop of a hat (before going that is), but usually once I get them down I don't change them. This time around we're adding other people into the mix so sometimes we have to switch things up to make sure everyone get's what they want or need. It all works out of course because, well, your going to WDW!! How can it not work out?!? :)

Upon checking which parks are good to be in and which aren't I come to find there it's a "go" for more than one park on almost any day we're there. :thumbsup2 Which makes me VERY happy, makes for switching up parks on any given day much easier to do, you never know when a crowd may want to show up to the park you've planned for the day. I do realize that there may be some changes in the "which parks are a go," the closer we get to those days, it's pretty hard to predict this far out if a park will be full.

May 6th-Arrival Day: :cheer2: Mackie and I plan to be in the "Mutha-land" (thank you DISUNC) as early into the day without having to be up at 3 in the morning just to be at the airport two hours early. As it sits we should be getting in around 1 or so in the afternoon (fingers crossed). We'll probably eat lunch right away, where ever Mackenzie wants to eat and then possibly go swimming, or figure out where our room is(where is yet to be determined -more on this in a bit) unpack, and have a rest. We don't do parks the first day so we'll eventually head to DTD to start soaking in some of the atmosphere and get our shop on!!
ssshopping.gif

I'm sure we'll be tuckered out with all the shopping so we'll stop at WGPE later for dinner, gotta keep up our strength!! Loooove the creme brulee here!! I'm not entirely sure how I'll eat this time around, but I know I'll be eating that for sure!! Once dinner is over we'll more than likely being taking a bus back to where ever it is we're staying and get to bed early. Can't waste our mornings with any of that sleeping in nonsense!!

Where We're Staying....Maybe

We had originally planned on staying at AofA-Little Mermaid rooms-for the first two days, CSR for the next 7 nights and then POR-Royal Rooms-for the last two nights. Buuuut upon talking with Brook it will be too hard to try and swing this with the dining plan and park tickets. We'd have to be without dining on each end of the trip and I'm not sure I'm up for that just yet.

Like I said I'm one who takes something and chews on it until all the flavor is gone and then I chew on it some more, since there is still time I'm sure I'll chew on this idea for a bit longer. I hate changing what I'm use to doing so this may take the renewing of the mind before I decide I'm okay with putting money on a Disney gift card and sucking it up by doing that. I'm not even sure that's something I could do. Can you pay for dining with a Disney gift card? What would be the easiest way to go about doing that?

If I can't get my mind around the gift cards for dining then Mackenzie and I will check into CSR at the start of the trip and then change the last four or five days to AofA. I didn't really want to stay at a value that long ( I know I sound like a snob) so we'll see how I come about making this decision.
Any ideas concerning my stay would be helpful and welcomed. :flower3:

I love sharing my trip with y'all. :goodvibes

Next is Day 2!! First day in the parks!!

We haven't done the gift card, but I know you can. Dawn that I follow did that - she figured out the cost of the DDP and put it on a loadable gift card and then used that for the dining. She figured out they would actually eat less food and they weren't worry about what they were spending any more than on the DDP, because they had it set aside already.

I was planning to for our next trip, but we've decided to go ahead and just to the QS plan next time so everyone will feel okay about ordering.:goodvibes

Good idea! I'm pretty sure I'll figure it out before too long, having others input helps me out. Since I'm a little worried about eating this time around I'm starting to lean towards gift cards. I'm still chewing on it though.

Next is Day 2!! First day in the parks!!

I know you can pay for dinner with a Disney gift card at all Disney owned restaurants, but I'm not sure about all the not Disney owned ones.

Nice! CSR, my home resort!

AoA is amazing. Walking the grounds of the resort does not feel like a value resort. I've eaten at Landscapes of Flavor 3 times, and walked around the resort twice. I can't begin to tell you how impressed I am with the resort. Double beds in a Mermaid room, not sure how impressed I'd be with that, especially after staying with a queen size bed at CSR, but if you did AoA first it would be easier to transition from the doubles to the queens?

Thank you Michelle, it's good to know all the in's and out's. :thumbsup2

CSR is my home resort too!! :goodvibes Thanks to Ms. Kat, I fell in love with CSR on our last trip. It's so beautiful and homey.

I'm so excited about staying at AofA!! AofA along with the new section of FL is going to be a huge highlight to our trip. :cheer2: I don't think we'll have a hard time with the doubles since it will just be Mackenzie and I during that portion of the trip. :)

So tell me, what did you like eating at Landscapes of Flavor? I'm so excited about being there, I'm hoping we'll be staying at AofA at the start, just so Mackenzie and I can eat at Landscapes of Flavor.

How is the little man doing?

Camille, Mark and I used Disney gift cards for almost all of our meals last September, and I used them mostly in January for my meals as well...not a problem. I did, however, keep tabs on what I spent on the gift cards (I had a little chart with the card and it's number on it and the balance; I would then deduct what I spent and put it in the next column so I knew how much was left on each card).

Is there a reason you are thinking CSR and then AoA and not CSR and then POR? You know what my choice would be.

If I was going to drop 1 of the 3 it would be AoA. The resort itself looks adorable to be but maybe geared toward younger kids?(no flames please). I do want to try it one day tho( possibly May 2013:scratching). I would think about how much time you are actually going to be spending at your resort, meal choices.etc. The less swapping the better.

As far as gift cards go, I have been budgeting them into my grocery shopping and picking them up $25 at a time. No big hit at once that way.

I like your combo of resorts, but I get the whole thing about the dining plan.

When I don't use a dining plan I always put money on a Disney gift card to pay for food. I find that its much easier. I like it because I'm not good with cash and room charges can get ahead of me. The restaurants will put on your receipt how much is left on the card.

Good luck deciding what to do.

DH and I shared a Surf and Surf burger, YUM! But boy did we add on the calories, we asked for extra roumalaude sauce. It was amazing!! The little man had a gluten free pizza that the chef made special. For dessert dh and little man shared Baby Cakes brownies. They said they were nice and moist, loved the mint, chocolate and mocha frosting, but didn't like the vanilla frosting. I will be posting pics eventually on my perpetual TR.

Good to know, Ms. Kat!! I'm pretty much leaning toward doing all three resorts again since I spoke with Mackenzie and asked her if she was game not doing the dining on each end, if she had stuck to doing only two resorts we would have (nothing like a cranky teenage girl on your hands when on vacation), but she said do all three. And to be honest, I think this will work out better doing the gift cards on each end of the trip since we had a few places we were going to eat out of pocket for anyway. (so as not to waste a table service on The Plaza and The Liberty Tree Tavern-didn't seem like a good use of a TS to me)

The reason we picked CSR and then AofA (if we went that way) was due to the fact that Mackenzie and I are beyond excited about seeing AofA!! :cheer2: I asked her what she would want to do and that's what she picked. :confused3 I have no illusions in understanding the recesses of a teenage girls mind. :rotfl:
We've been watching it being built and watching all the details going into it, and the excitment has been building in us right along with the resort. I'm instructed not to show Mackie anything once AofA was opened, she wants to see everything when she's there. She said she wants to take it all in in person. She's so cute. She's said the same about the new FL too.

I'm not big on value resorts, but this one is special. My favorite movie is Finding Nemo, so you can't go wrong there and Mackenzie's favorite character is Little Mermaid. I figured there probably wouldn't be a better time to do this than when she and I are going without the guys, they'd just complain about making the moves. We probably will too, but this will be easier with the two of us. I thought for sure she'd pick POR after CSR, but I was wrong! :confused3
Oh and another reason is that it will be fairly new, fresh and clean. Can't ask for better than that! :thumbsup2
