HHN website

I know Saturday is the busiest day for HHN, but which is the busiest between Friday and Sunday? We are trying to make it mid October. We went on Sunday last year, which was our first time, and it wasn't too bad. We bought express passes
Saturdays are always the busiest night...Fridays aren't a lot better but go Friday night if you can.

My curiosity is getting the better of me. What are blood bags? :confused3
Blood bags are an alcoholic concoction they sell during HHN. It's a gelatin type substance served in a bag and looks like blood.

The houses, years, themes all run together for me.

However, have to say that I loved the year with the Nightmare on Elm Street, Friday the 13th House, etc. Of all of them, that is the one I remember most. Maybe because someone, who shall remain nameless, told Jason to breathe in my ear when we were in the Friday the 13th house. I turned around fully expecting to see my husband, but instead saw Jason in full costume right in my face .....

Not only did I almost pee my pants and scream bloody murder, but let's just say it wasn't made any better by my (nameless, instigator) friend who tried to say, "Jodie! Jason was just going to tell you everything is OK. It's just fake!!"

Yeah, you know who you are ....

:wave2:

We went on Fri, Sat, Sun over a weekend last year. Friday was packed with high school and middle school kids. Same on saturday. Sunday was glorious. It was like adult swim. I'm going to try to hit up two sundays this year. :cool1:

for me, thursdays are better than sundays for non peak night crowds.

sundays are better crowdwise than fridays.

BOO........

those blood bags can sometimes sneak up on youse.....::yes::

when you are on your third one, you won't have any fears in the houses.
but then, you might not realize you are in a house........

I've heard from a very reliable source the first weekend is not too bad for crowds. Is Friday better than Saturday on this first weekend? What are the crowds like?

ok I'm definately getting three. ;)
Where do you purchase them? From a street vendor? A ghost? A zombie?

i used to do the thread for the hhn dates but last year had donald duck 52 did it as i was tied up with family obligations.

i posted i would start a new thread this month but read that donald duck wanted to do it again.

just waiting for him to start the thread.
i need to send a homing pigeon to him with a note.....

that is how i would meet up with other homies.
i would look and see who was going to be there the same dates i was.
i pm'ed those homies to make plans on connecting for a meet and greet period.

After last year, I have to disagree. The Frequent Fear Pass has become very popular, but fewer seem to do Frequent Fear Plus. Last year I found HHN was slammed on Sundays from opening onward--with a lot of the same people in the holding area every week--while Friday nights were relatively quiet until 8:30 or 9. Also, keep in mind the even stays open longer on Fridays, and crowds tend to drop again after midnight. If you can do stay and scream or stay late, I have to recommend Friday over Sunday. (I agree Thursday remains the best night, period.)

It's not horrible--and this year should be even better, with the event starting earlier than ever. This is the one time Friday might feel a bit more crowded than Saturday, just because (1) it's the first night, and (2) there are media everywhere filming. But either night should be decent for crowds--keeping in mind everything to do with HHN crowds is relative.

i'm sure the dates we go can be different when it comes to crowds.
since 1999, i have seen crowds increase each year.

last year i went 4 nights in a row.
thur-sun, columbus day weekend.

i hit hell week once and decided never again in that time frame.

sundays are open to 1:00 am, with thursday shutting down at midnight.
i think it was 2 years back that they extended sunday a non peak night that extra hour.
you will find more and more peeps doing sunday since it has cheaper hhn tix than friday.

Honestly, the blood bag didn't do much for me. I thought that getting a Long Island Iced Tea was a much better bang-for-the-buck for me last year. (Especially in my souvenir cup..... even more so when I went and got my refill at the Alcatraz bar....)

ok I'm definately getting three. ;)

From the bloody nurses located around the park.

I have to ask: What is hell week?
It's when the local school systems are out on Friday or Monday (depending on the school system) and that brings in LOTS of local kids during those two weeks. HHN is insanely busy during those nights.
