Disney done differently, (BOG dining updates pages 202 and 203)

I just saw on another thread that Anakin has been ill. I'm sorry to hear that when things seemed to be moving in the right direction for the last month. Praying for him.

Appreciate the prayers! Last night was rough again. He stopped coughing around 5:15am this morning. Dh and I are exhausted and he's working all weekend.

I left a message for you in another thread... but I also wanted to stop by to let you know we are praying for Ani... I sure hope he is doing better soon.

Thanks. Appreciate the prayer. He just woke up and is back to coughing up a storm. It seems worse every day. Can't wait til his pediatrician is back from vacation. The substitute doesn't know him nearly as well as his ped.

Lisa, I gave her the print out from the neuro of meds to avoid and ones that are ok. We are sticking to his list. Don't need a seizure! Guess we'll be back to the doc on Tuesday if he isn't any better.

His cough was quiet from 5:15 am til 9:15 when he woke up today. But since he is up and moving, he is back to coughing.

Michelle, I shared this on Judy's and Laurie's threads but I wanted to post this here too.

The Special Mother
by Erma Bombeck
Did you ever wonder how mothers of sick children were chosen?
Somehow I visualize God hovering over the earth selecting his instruments of propagation with great care and deliberation. As He observes, He instructs His angels to make notes in a giant ledger.
"This one gets a daughter. The Patron saint will be Cecelia"
"This one gets twins. The Patron saint will be Matthew"
"This one gets a son. The Patron saint.....give her Gerard. He's used to profanity"
Finally He passes a name to an angel and smiles. "Give her a sick child".
The angel is curious. "Why this one God? She's so happy"
"Exactly," smiles God. "Could I give a sick child to a mother who does not know laughter? That would be cruel!"
"But has she patience?" asks the angel.
"I don't want her to have too much patience or she will drown in a sea of sorrow and despair. Once the shock and resentment wears off, she'll handle it. I watched her today, she has that feeling of self and independence that is so necessary in a mother. You see, the child I'm going to give her has his own world. She has to make him live in her world and that's not going to be easy."
"But Lord, I don't think she even believes in you"
God smiles, "No matter, I can fix that. This one is perfect - she has just enough selfishness"
The angel gasps - "Selfishness? is that a virtue?"
God nods. "If she can't separate herself from the child occasionally she won't survive. Yes here is a woman whom I will bless with a child less than perfect. She doesn't realize it yet, but she is to be envied. She will never take for granted a 'spoken word'. She will never consider any 'step' ordinary. When her child says "Momma" for the first time she will be present at a miracle and will know it. I will permit her to see clearly the things I see...ignorance, cruelty and prejudice...and allow her to rise above them. She will never be alone. I will be at her side every minute of every day of her life because she is doing my work as surely as if she is here by my side"
"And what about her Patron saint?" asks the angel, his pen poised in mid air.
God smiles "A mirror will suffice"

Michele, that says it all! I believe this is true too!

Hopefully, the coughing is better but if it's not at least you only have two days to wait until Anakin's regular doctor is back from vacation. I'm still counting down the days with you until August 10th!

Today was a good day! He's had some coughing, but nothing like the last few days! I am hopeful we are over the hump and he is finally on his way to recovery. The myoclonic twitching started up again in his sleep though. He hadn't done this for weeks, but has been doing it again the last few nights. Tonight he is barely coughing, and night time was the worse each of the other nights.

We are going stir crazy this week, Disney withdrawal maybe? We put together some patio furniture. Did some school work. And have spent time in the evening outside on the porch reading. Of course, we watched some of the Olympics too. This time down gave Goofy a chance to paint and relax.

We did not try a humidifyer, usually he does better with a vaperizer.

Thanks for sharing, Michele. It does bring tears.

Michele, that says it all! I believe this is true too!

:thumbsup2

So do I Lisa. I cried when I read it earlier. It just reached that place with me.

:grouphug: I can relate!

The coughing is much better! It's night time and he is not coughing much at all. Big change from the last few days!

Oh I am glad that it seems that Anakin is improving. Good!

I understand the blahs. I have been having them too. Maybe it is the summer weather? I think Disney withdrawal sounds totally logical!

Sorry you are having the blahs.

It's been 10 days since last time at Disney. We are thinking about heading over for lunch if Anakin is ok. His cough is much better, but he had a seizure last night, so we will play it by ear.

No! No! No! No! No! Poor Anakin! He's been seizure free for so long.

I am sorry to hear that Anakin had a seizure last night. It's good that his cough is better. I hope you ended up having lunch at Disney.

I know! It was such a let down that he had a seizure, but such a blessing that he went this long without one!

Glad to hear that Anakin's cough is better, but sorry to hear he had a seizure. :sad2:

Thanks. I'm not sure if it's time helping his cough or the antibiotic? (The ped did give us a prescription for the antibiotic the first visit to her, but she said it wasn't going to work on the 2nd visit.) It's been slow going with the cough and lingering.

He only woke up around 11am, so we didn't make it for lunch. I had finished Kingdom Keepers II, so we make a quick run to AoA for supper and looked for the book there. It wasn't there, so I ran into WoD after we ate and bought books III and IV. Then we headed home. I will have a dining report and pics of the Cars section to post. The Cars section was absolutely amazing!
