I Hear a Rumor… PrincessBetsy is in Walt Disney World–A DCP Dining Review *9/24

I've mostly been lurking, but it's time to come out and play! My, that waffle looks delicious! What I wouldn't give to have plans to go there anytime in the remotely near future!

Another yummy update
I don't usually enjoy chocolate ice cream but your soft serve does look good :goodvibes

Hi Betsy! I'm getting caught up with your reviews and I must say that you continue to exceed my expectations in a CM by continuing to update us with your dining adventures - way to go!! :thumbsup2:rotfl:

Ice-cream cookie = awesome!
burger/hotdog cake = so cute!
soft serve = ahhh refreshing!
Cosmic Rays chicken sandwich = glad to know that other options may be better. We've only had the chicken which is awesome but one day we'll expand our horizons. :rolleyes1
German chocolate cupcake = if I could have one for breakfast right now I would. :cloud9: That is my DH's favorite cake so it is good to know where to find those.

Thanks for continuing to think of us and update! :goodvibes

My DH's fav cake as well girls!!! Betsy, I'm glad you found that @ the GF. I would like to try lunch there & my DH will be thrilled w/ that dessert & I'll get brownie...I mean... cup cake points for being an amazing wife!! Thanks!!!:goodvibes

Yet another person who's DH is a huge German Chocolate fan! Thanks for sharing the pics of that cupcake. I showed it to DH and he is now quite insistent that we make a special trip to GF next trip.

Great updates! Hope you're enjoying your summer at WDW!

That cupcake looks phenomenal - and thanks for posting the ingredients list! The ingredients are a lot 'simpler' than I was expecting (and that's a good thing)! :goodvibes

:rotfl: Thanks Brenda! It's a difficult job, but somebody has to do it! :lmao:

I'm sure you husband would love the cupcake from the GF. It was a perfect German Chocolate cake in miniature.

Yak and Yeti – July 10th

Huzzah! Finally time for a table service meal :woohoo:. My roommate and I went to Animal Kingdom on our day off. We went on Dinosaur and Primeval Whirl and watched Finding Nemo: The Musical. We proceeded to ride Expedition Everest twice and then decided it was time for dinner. By this point it was a little after 7:00, so most of the counter service places had closed. Luckily for us, Yak and Yeti was open and had plenty of open tables!

Once we were seated and looked over the appetizers, my roommate and I finally decided to share this:

Lettuce Cups for Two - minced chicken breast, chopped vegetables, maple tamarind sauce, crisp lettuce cups

How adorable is this? I just love lettuce cups; they are such a handy mode of transporting delicious meat to one’s mouth. The bean sprouts and carrots were also a great addition and added a nice crunch. This was definitely enough for two people and could easily be shared by 3 or 4.

I already knew what entrée I was having before I even stepped inside:

Sweet and Sour Chicken - Tempura chicken, ginger, garlic, bell peppers, pineapple

I am a huge fan of sweet and sour chicken and this did not disappoint! The chicken was perfectly fried – very crispy and tender. The vegetables were also cooked to perfection, as well as the jasmine rice. Jasmine rice…:cloud9: good lord was this ever good. My roommate also had this and loved it too. She didn’t care for the huge chunks of veggies though, so I took them off her hands. It was a difficult task, but someone had to do it. Unfortunately we were both too full to order dessert – gives us an excuse to come again. ::yes::

This was one delicious meal! The only part that was subpar was the service. Our server didn’t really come back to check on us and kind of disappeared when it was time to pay the bill. It took a long time to get our checks and for him to bring back our credit cards. We also told him near the beginning of the meal that we were going to use our cast member discount, so I think he stopped his good service after that :confused3. Whenever we use our cast discount the tip is automatically included. Other than the poor service, I have very high praise for Yak and Yeti. My roommate and I will most definitely be back here!

Long time reader, first time poster! :wave2:

I just want to say - Betsy, your dining reviews are great! My family and I have been to Disney more times than I can count, but we've never experienced half of the dining places you've visited.

We're going again in November, and our dining plans look so different this time - thanks to you! I am so excited!

Can't wait to read more! popcorn::

I'm glad that you're willing to go back to Yak & Yeti and have dessert, since for a lot of people, the fried wonton dessert is the best part of the meal. :goodvibes

I know. All in the name of research!

Plaza Ice Cream Parlour – July 10th

After we had eaten at Yak and Yeti, Animal Kingdom closed for the evening. We then hopped on a bus to the TTC and took the monorail over to the Magic Kingdom. We went on a few attractions, saw part of the fireworks, and then went to Main Street to watch the Main Street Electrical Parade at 11:00. By this time we were no longer stuffed full of food; that means it’s time for dessert! :upsidedow

The "Plaza" Ice Cream Sundae – Cookie Swirl Ice Cream with Hot Fudge, whipped cream and a cherry served in a freshly made waffle bowl

Yes, that’s right – cookie swirl ice cream. This is the featured flavor at The Plaza, so I just had to try it. It is very similar to cookie dough, but instead of chunks of dough it is literally swirled throughout. I am a huge fan of this ice cream… what a delicious ending to the day!

I've never seen photos inside Y&Y - thanks for sharing those as well as the lovely photo of you posing with the Hindi statuette thingie. We'll be trying Y&Y in a few weeks so any dining reviews for this place peaks my interest! I have to say that the food really does look good. Yummmmm.....
:thumbsup2

Cookie swirl ice-cream!! I love chunks of cookie dough so it sounds like this just has it more incorporated into the ice-cream not lumps. Ok, now that I write that it is obvious that "swirl" and "chunk" have totally different meanings! Duh! Anyway, the sundae looks delicious and we can always count on you to keep us updated on the wonderful treats at Plaza Ice-Cream. :cool2:

This looks divine. I bet it was torture to eat:rotfl2: Also, thanks for the Y & Y review. Looking forward to reading more.

Let me just tell you what I tell most people when I see them talking about the CHH Lobster Roll, if you ever have a chance to come to New England and try a real lobster roll...please do. Please don't let that be your only lobster roll experience because that is not a good representation of what we have here. First, that has way too much mayo and the lobster in that, you almost can't see it. Lobster rolls should have huge chunks of lobster.

Here is a photo of one from the place right near my office. (It's not even 9am and my mouth is watering.)

Now doesn't that look yummy?

I havento know Kelleigh where did you get this lobster roll? I also live near Gillette and need to get one.
Sorry form highjacking your Report Princess Betty I am loving your report but I just can't get this lobster roll out of my mind
:goodvibes

I work in Boston. This one is from James Hook Lobster Co. Yesterday I was down at my parents and stopped at Kool Kone in Wareham for one. I also stopped at Market Basket in Raynham to pick up some lobster which was $3.99/lb. Haven't seen that price since I was a kid.

Mmm, that sundae looks delicious :goodvibes

It was quite lovely! I seem to eat a lot of ice cream, now that I think about it. :rotfl:

Aw, thanks! I'm sure you will really enjoy Yak and Yeti. I need to go back and try those fried wontons sometime! Too funny about the ice cream :lmao: It seems that I'm always at the Plaza to try their delicous ice cream - it has become a bit of a habit :upsidedow
