This is the dawning of the rest of our lives... AT DISNEY WORLD!!!! COMPLETED 1/6!!!!

Yay for new Hula Timon! :cool1:

We left on the 8th but it was alot busier in POP than in the hotel on International drive.

He will be the star of our next TR, just you wait! :thumbsup2

Really? I don't remember it being that way. But you know what, we were hardly there anyway. We rarely just hung out there. This was a very "go go go" trip.

I love all the Morocco photos! It's such a pretty pavilion. And I feel ya about the Aladdin ride. Though the Magic Carpets are pretty awesome when it's late, you're delirious, and you loudly sing "A Whole New World" as you fly around. Fun times were had by all.

Sometimes I forget that people I just meet are not used to my blunt way of speaking.
Story of my life. :rotfl:

Are Jello Shots a purely American thing? A la Red Solo Cups at parties? I never knew that. Your trip report is both entertaining AND informative.

What a sweet CM! Calls you princess, tells you that you have a beautiful voice, brings you champagne...When's the wedding? ;)

Thank you! I know, it's beautiful. And it's so funny that you said that about Magic Carpets b/c I had literally almost the exact same experience except it involved even more silliness. That will be coming up soon!

I don't know! I feel like they have to be an international thing. Or at least Europe? I don't know. HOW COULD PEOPLE NOT KNOW ABOUT JELLO SHOTS? It gets to me.

When's the wedding... I WISH I KNEW. Oh man. Now THAT would be a TR story to end all TR stories. Imagine if I really do meet my husband in Disney? That would only be the most perfect thing of all time.

Just started reading your report and I am loving it so far. I had to come and comment and then I'll go back to read the rest.

First off, April 8 is the best birthday day ever... yup that's mine too.

Second, my 16 month old daughter is named Lia and if she becomes as witty, funny and Disney obsessed as you, I'll be elated as a mother.

princess:OMG I love your France pictures! They are making me so Disney homesick right now! :(

Morocco is such a beautiful pavilion, I could spend hours in there! I love those lights that you took a picture of, I always want to buy one but I talk myself out of it. Someday I will, when I look at things in Disney for years, I eventually have to buy it! Like the snow globe with Cinderella Castle...I've been wanting that for probably 5 years now, and I still have yet to buy it! Maybe I'll just get it on my next trip and get it over with!

I agree with you about Aladdin, they could make a pretty amazing magic carpet ride in the Morocco pavilion...and not like the MK/Dumbo ride, like a roller coaster or something. I need to go to Disneyland to see the Aladdin show, I've heard it's fantastic! :cool1:

OMG, your encounter with that French CM is perfect! I really think you might meet your husband in Disney World, I think that really needs to happen for you! :thumbsup2 It would be a real life fairy tale! princess:

:welcome: Thanks for reading!

Woohoo for matching birthdays!

That's so awesome that she's named Lia (and it's spelled the same way!) Thank you for the compliments. You are so sweet. You made my day!

I feel your pain... I am more Disney homesick than I could ever describe! I can honestly say I don't think I've ever been dying to go to Disney more than I have for the past few months and that is REALLY saying something. Unfortunately, I don't think I'll be back for a long time. :(

I'm like that too! There are so many things I've been meaning to buy for years! I always tell myself I'm going to create a separate fund for them but who can afford all these things really? LOL. I just want too much.

ahh! An Aladdin coaster would be so cool!

OMG I love that you just said that so much you have no idea. I wish I could meet my husband in Disney, that would just be the most amazing thing ever.

Day 6, Part 4 In Which It's Time For Disney On Crack

It was very hard to say goodbye to the sweet and SUPER HOT Frenchman.

He had to go to work and told me again that I should stop by where he worked sometime. I said, "Ok, maybe I will!" But what I meant was, "I hope our first child is a boy so we can name him after you!"

I think parting with him caused post traumatic stress because we STILL STAYED IN FRANCE?

I don't even know, you guys. We were stuck there. It was fine though. If you have to be stuck somewhere, France isn't a bad place to be stuck. As the Frumps would say, no one was mad. It's all good in the hood. The French...hood... that is the France pavilion at Epcot. Look, I don't know what I'm saying anymore.

So, I took some pictures...

My mom and I had to go to the bathroom again, so we went back over to Morocco, and then we decided we would FINALLY LEAVE! Sometimes, you're just all Franced out.

You'd probably think we'd head right to the Magic Kingdom since I've gone on and on about the EMH and how excited I was about it and all of that. But nope.

My nose and soul were both craving the smell of the Land!!!!!!!!!!

6842782588_f70ff86034_b.jpg

I twirled for awhile, singing "My nostrils are alliiiiivveeee.... with the smell of Theeeeeee Laaaaaaand!"

Yes, I am available for bat mizvahs, birthday parties, holy communions, weddings, and any other special event! I refuse to keep this talent hidden away from the world. That would be selfish of me.

So we head down to Living With the Land and I see this:
6842782506_e67c8f32b0_z.jpg

OMG I laughed so hard. Zero minutes! I've never seen that before. There was literally no one around. The CMs were just standing there. It was too funny. I understand though, I mean, not EVERY ride can be as popular as Maelstrom.

My mom and I love this ride, so we hopped right on for a private VIP tour of Epcot's greenhouses! I realized this was another instance of Disney planning ahead for moi, Queen of the Polynesian Resort, to arrive. Hey, when you're royalty, these are the kind of perks that you get!

A lot of the plants were decorated for Christmas, which I thought was such a cute detail!

6988904939_e3839d4e71_z.jpg

We took another spin on Soarin'... not that Soarin' spins in any way. So what I mean is, we took another flight over California, and THEN it was time to get over to the Magic Kingdom for LATE NIGHT EMH!!! WOOOOO!!!!!!!

Of course, there's always time to grab a Mickey bar on the way out...

6988905839_43310c5a02_b.jpg

OMG I am craving one of these so bad right now!

6988905755_5edcc51eea_b.jpg

The shimmering concrete is one of my favorite little Disney touches.

We took my beloved monorail over to the most magical of kingdoms, and I was so pumped that I was literally skipping out of it, down the ramp, and over to the bag checks! I was soooo happy and excited for the night ahead! Late night extra magic hours at the Magic Kingdom are the BEST and I was just SO giddy. I had waited for this night for 18 months and I was just dying to get in there and GET IT STARTED!!!

6988906133_4072cc5960_b.jpg

AHH! So exciting!!! I can't even describe how exhilarated I was! It was such an incredible feeling, like how I felt when we first arrived at Disney all over again.

The great thing about these nights, besides everything, is you know that not only do you have extra hours, but that the lines will be virtually gone, so you have this incredible wealth of time at your fingertips to do literally WHATEVER you want, instead of having to make this plan of "Ok, let's hit that first, and then get fastpasses for this, and then we have to go there cause it'll get crowded later, etc." Nope. You just do whatever the HALE you want without a care in the world! It's like... as amazing as Disney usually is... amped up times a million. It's Disney on crack.

So first, we took a spin on the good ol' Walt Disney World railroad.

6842782888_1c96fa30e6_b.jpg

We got off in Frontierland...

6988905627_cf854caeef_z.jpg

Splash Mountain only had a 5 minute wait, but it was getting chilly so we saved that one for later. Big Thunder's wait was listed at 20 minutes, but we waited less than 10. I LOVE this ride at night! So much more fun than in the daytime.

One of my goals this trip was to finally see attractions we had never seen before, and one of them was the Country Bear Jamboree. I had heard it was silly and ridiculous, which was perfect because we are silly and ridiculous people.

6842783680_3c2a26984a_z.jpg

Oh my GOD, this is the most weird and random attraction ever! So naturally, WE LOVED IT! I was so entertained because it's just SO funny and crazy... these bears are silly, drunk, depressed, swinging on swings, playing instruments... what a show! Two very enthusiastic thumbs up from my mom and I! Oh man, were we Livin' It Up now or what?

Also, during the WHOLE show there was a little boy who couldn't have been more than 4, jumping up and down the entire time. My mom and I were CRACKING UP watching him. Oh, he loved this show more than anyone in the world loves anything. It was so precious! Stuff like that makes me even more excited, when I see kids truly having the time of their lives!

CONTINUED IN NEXT POST

My mom was getting hungry so we headed to Pecos Bills. I was still pretty full from stuffing myself silly at Chefs de France (I had some of my mac & cheese wrapped up and at some point during our 4 hour France adventure I somehow got a fork (?) and just started eating it right out of the box like the frump I am), so I didn't order anything. My mom got a burger and had quite a lot of fun at the fixin's bar. She said it was way better than the burger she had at Pop. Of course, I ended up eating most of her fries even though I wasn't even hungry. Oh, Disney fries, how I love you.

At the table next to us, sat a group of British men dressed in athletic clothing, so I assume they were a soccer team or something. I enjoyed the view. It was a really nice moment... staring at gorgeous British men, shoveling fries into my mouth, knowing the EMH fun was just beginning, listening to the screams as people took the plunge down into the Briar Patch... ah Disney. DISNEY, I LOVE YOU.

Next, we went on our first Splash ride of the night. Unfortunately, there was no rock and roll guy shouting expletives this time, but hey, you can't win em all. It was still a bit too early for the Splashathon (more on THAT later), so we only went on one time. I know, I know, who goes on Splash Mountain ONE time? But we had lots of other fish to fry and we knew we'd be back, so we moved on.

I love the shop at Splash Mountain because it continues the theme of the attraction quite well:

6842783600_5bd63d3b6f_z.jpg

After poking around in the shop for awhile and buying some candy, it was off to *Stacey voice* ADVENTURELAND!

We hadn't done the Tiki room in a few years, so that was our first stop.

6988906363_069c0981ef_z.jpg

You know, I usually know everything that goes on at Disney but every once in awhile I miss something. I had no idea the Tiki room wasn't under the management of Zazu and Iago anymore! Call me crazy, but I thought it was cute. I love those characters. However, there's nothing like the good, old fashioned classic version. Anything that Walt was a part of, that calls back to the early days of Disneyland and WDW, is #1 in my book.

I saw that a ride I never go on, The Magic Carpets of Aladdin, had no wait, so I went on. Right as I was about to board my carpet, I suddenly saw this little boy climb up onto this platform near where the sign for the ride was, and start jumping up and down and screaming "Woooooohooooo!" It was SO funny and SO scary at the same time.

A CM came by and got him almost instantly, and of course it would have been really bad if he had fallen or something, but since he didn't... I'm going to go with it being hilarious, cause it totally was. That kid was just happier than anyone alive. It was his moment, standing on a ride at Disney, screaming WOOOOHOOOO over and over. I live for that kind of stuff. I'm just happy he didn't fall and hurt himself!

6842784012_f48a334068_z.jpg

6842784084_bbbb28cb53_z.jpg

6988906817_67dd4f9792_z.jpg

Love this detail!

I experienced a huge moment of bliss during my magic carpet ride. It was just one of those delirious "I'm exactly where I need to be and nothing in the world is wrong cause I'M FLYING ON A MAGIC CARPET AND EVERYTHING EVER WILL BE OKAY BECAUSE DISNEY EXISTS AND LIFE IS WONDERFUL" moments. Ah, if only I could feel like that daily!

I wanted to go on Jungle Cruise next, because I had never been on at night before. Mom was kind of not into it since we had just been on it, but like I said, that's why I love EMH. When you have all that time, it's like, why not? So on we went.

This time we got a female skipper. She was not as good as the wonderful Liam, but I really liked her because she was paying a lot of attention to a little girl dressed as a princess and it was adorable. As soon as the princess stepped on, the skipper gasped and said, "Oh my Goodness! Aren't we lucky! We've got a princess on board! Oh my! Make way for the princess everyone!" and the little girl just felt so special. Then, someone pulled out a camera and the skipper said, "Excuse me, she's just a normal person like everyone else! She's just trying to live her life!" It was hilarious and such a special moment for her.

6988906781_7d29873cb9_z.jpg

Pic didn't come out well in the dark, but this cool tiki display that I didn't remember ever noticing before is right next to the Jungle Cruise loading area.

7001631999_c3a03f5832_b.jpg

Kinda cool. Kinda want these guys in my backyard.

Of all the MK night entertainment, the thing I wanted to see the most was the Main Street Electrical Parade, since it was the only thing we hadn't seen yet. Actually, we hadn't seen it since the days before Spectro. I was really excited, cause I definitely equate that music with my childhood trips. It was getting near that time, so we headed over to Main Street.

While walking over, Wishes began. Sigh. And then come the tears.

I snapped this photo as we walked and tweeted:
7461690496_247902df93_z.jpg

"I wish we'd never have to grow up! Off to Neverland!"

That part gets me every time. I just can't resist the tears. I know I've written about it before, but when all the characters start saying their wishes, oh God, I just can't. MY CHILDHOOD! MY LIFE! MY DREAMS!!!! ALL BEING REPRESENTED IN A FIREWORKS SHOW ABOVE THE CASTLE!!! SOMEONE HOLD ME AND PET ME LIKE A DOG BEFORE I DROWN IN MY TEARS!

I just love it because obviously, my Neverland is Disney World. And I do refuse to grow up. In real life, I go out and walk around like an adult but I'm really not. I may have to do adult things like pay taxes and wait in line at the DMV, but I refuse to let go of that little girl who'd stare up at the castle filled with dreams. I think if you don't stay in touch with that kid who dreamed impossible dreams, you're doing yourself a disservice. Some people may dismiss it as kid's stuff, but it's really the core of who I personally am. I mean, I dress up and play make believe for a living. I don't see the whole growing up thing happening any time soon. And if it does, I hope Peter will fly into my bedroom window one night and remind me to keep going on adventures. :tinker:

Up Next: Remember in 2010 when we were drunk on food at Boma and ridiculousness ensued? The part 2 of that is coming up soon. If you didn't read my last TR and don't know what I'm talking about, first of all, how dare you not read my masterpiece? Secondly, cancel your plans and read the whole thing, but here is the Food Drunk chapter link: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?p=39426079#post39426079

Lia, you are brilliant. That is all. No one's mad. I like your Land rendition of the Sound of Music. I will sing that from now on. You're a princess.

You seem to really torture yourself in France I got to say, having crazy love at first sight moments with men you may or may not be able to marry. It's pretty funny, but seeing as you seem so keen on the matter, I'm guessing it will happen... Anyways, love your last pictures of World Showcase and your little rendition of "Smell of the land" a la "Sound of Music". I may actually sing that every time I go in there from now. Gotta agree about the fact Living with the Land has no wait especially with Maelstrom all the way across the park though I believe that little dinky ride can't lay a finger on LWTL, just saying. The Christmas decorations are gorgeous and :thumbsup2 to the Mickey Bar!

Oh, I love the shimmering concrete, so pretty, and really transitions well when you leave the park (especially to MK). I'm also taking vigorous notes now since I never thought evening EMH could be that awesome as you say with MK EMH. I'm guessing your luck with the lack of people there is again due to your Princess of the Polynesian status :-) :thumbsup2 to BTMRR and the Country Bears! BTMRR is truly a lot better at night and I'm so glad to find someone else who doesn't think the Country Bears is out-dated or whatever. The nostalgia and vibe it gives off *breathes in* LOVE IT! Totally the way to Live It Up!

LOL @ your second run-in with good-looking foreign people again! I feel like you aren't attracted to them, they are attracted to you since this is a continuous theme throughout your TR. I gotta say though, Disney Fries and Screams from Splash, a lot more infatuating ;) The Gift Shop by Splash looks so adorable, I feel bad I've never been in there now or spent a lot of time in there. Oh I miss out on so much!

:thumbsup2 to the Tiki Room and Aladdin's Magic Carpets! I just have grown a recent love for the Tiki Room because I'm a huge sucker for nostalgia and that is basically nostalgia on crack right there. Glad more of the "younger" DISer crowd is with me on this! On the case of the Magic Carpets, you can't go wrong with a spitting camel and more crazy children ( ). Thank god for hardworking CMs!

Awwww... that's so sweet of the Skipper! I love when CMs give some little kids extra attention, always a nice magical touch to an already magical Disney day. Reminds me... I need to definitely ride the Jungle Cruise now (or on my next trip!)

Wishes <333 I absolutely love that show and you explained the impact it has so well. While it does remind me of those days when I could be a carefree kid and saddens me, but a reminder that child inside of you is still there always there. :') Oh darn warm fuzzies! :goodvibes

Can't wait to read about this infamous "Food Drunk" chapter! :mickeyjum

Ahhh yes we were quoted. And it was related to France. What an honor. :worship:

WHOA that picture inside living with the land is AWESOME!!! The Dome looks too cool!

NOM Mickey Bar! I need to learn how to make room in my stomach for those because ever since I discovered the million other types of Disney food, I always bypass the classic. I know, I know. BLASPHEMY.

The Country Bear Jamboree can easily be described in a few simple words: it's so... fart shoes!

LOL THIS GUY SHOULD TOTALLY BE THE OFFICIAL FART SHOES SMILEY!!!!!!!! :cool1:

OMG.

Anyway.

AHHH YAY THERE'S ANOTHER POST I THOUGHT IT WAS OVER! I should have never doubted you, oh Queen.

LOL there is no such thing as being able to resist that mac and cheese. I am proud of your frumpy behavior!

Awww yay for being happy! And for the Jungle Cruise!! That whole princess spiel sounds precious! I'm surprised she didn't make an announcement that the queen of the polynesian was on board!!

Ohhhhh boy. I LOVE food drunkenness. BRING IT ON! :yay:

I love how Living with the Land gets all decorated for the holidays! We had bought one of the plants in its own little greenhouse from The Land awhile back, and for Christmas I was sure to give Planty his own little garland

Country Bear Jamboree AND the Tiki's??? Sounds like you were definitely living it up during EMH's! ;)

I love that Disney feels the need to keep the sign on even with a zero minute wait. I wonder how much electricity that wasted.

YAY Living with the Land! The greenhouse looks so pretty at night!

Thank Jesus you finally saw the Country Bears. I really don't know how you survived for so long without it. Like, I'm pretty sure I'm the wonderful, amazing, hilarious person I am today because of seeing that show when I was four. I've been clappin' my hands, and stompin' my feet, and tryin' to keep right with 'em ever since.

AH I never noticed that "Briar Sweet Briar" sign before. I NEED THAT IN MY LIFE. If I flood Disney with e-mails, do you think they'll make them available for purchase?

The WOOHOO kid was basically me when I rode the Magic Carpets two weeks ago. Except I didn't climb up on anything. Because even when delirious, I'm still all "Safety first!"

I know that feeling and I miss it desperately. Why haven't we just picked up and moved to Disney already?

Our Skipper did the same thing when we had a princess on board. It was adorable. The little Snow White had the biggest smile on her face. I'm pretty sure my heart grew three sizes right then, Grinch-style.

More food drunkenness? I can't wait. :thumbsup2

All Hail Lia "Queen of the Poly"!!

You have outdone yourself yet again. We are so glad that you finally made up for all those years of Bear neglect. While I like this show, my wife is totally in love with it (I think it has something to do with how amorous they all seem to be). As I have said before, your TR's are the most entertaining reading to be found on these boards!!!

awdwnut

Lia, you are brilliant. That is all. No one's mad. I like your Land rendition of the Sound of Music. I will sing that from now on. You're a princess.

Torture myself? I don't think so! Quite the opposite! I love meeting people from all over the world. Especially totally gorgeous guys. :thumbsup2

haha you totally should sing that song upon entering the Land! And sorry, Maelstrom is Walt Disney World's finest and most popular attraction!

Excuse me, I am QUEEN of the Poly, not Princess. Get it right, buster. But when EMH goes that late, it gets really empty no matter what! Of course, we always go during low crowd times, which really helps, but I hear even in the summer, once you get into the early morning hours, the park really empties. It's SO awesome.

That's ok, you can check out the Splash Mountain shop next time! And what you said about the foreign people being attracted to me... I sure hope so! LOL.

Thank God for hardworking CMs is right! I was quite impressed by how quickly she came over to grab that kid!

Yeah, Wishes is a mix of emotions! You wish you could hold onto your childhood but you can always keep that kid inside you alive. :goodvibes

What can I say, I relate to your Frump Life!

Thanks!! I love that pic!

Oh girl, same here! I used to eat the Mickey bars so much more often but there are just so many delicious things at Disney! I think this may have been the only day I ate one, I can't remember.

hahaha you and your Fart Shoes. FRUMP.

Yes! Never doubt the QUEEN of the Polynesian! I will never let my royal subjects down!

Thank you for being proud of my frumpness!

I was surprised too, but hey I don't mind letting the little kids get more attention than I... sometimes, that is!

hahaha just wait! We are crazy food drunk nutcases!

I love how Living with the Land gets all decorated for the holidays! We had bought one of the plants in its own little greenhouse from The Land awhile back, and for Christmas I was sure to give Planty his own little garland

Country Bear Jamboree AND the Tiki's??? Sounds like you were definitely living it up during EMH's! ;)

Aww, that's awesome! I would like to buy one of those plants too.

Oh, we were. You haven't seen anything yet my friend!

:thumbsup2

OMG imagine how much electricity they use in general in one day? I think about these things. And how much money they spend every day and how much they make? It's just nuts.

HAHA I know. Something in my life was missing. Thank God I have finally seen the light.

Isn't that sign adorable? I love when I notice things like that. I want to buy it too!

*GIANT SIGH* I don't know. I'm so sick of life! I just wanna be in Disney. I have no idea when I'll be back and it is killing me!

LOL I say that all the time, that my heart grew three sizes. Yet again you and I are twins.

OH JUST WAIT AND SEE. It was ridiculous.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!

You are too kind! I"m glad you guys love my TR so much! Hopefully I can keep providing good entertainment for you guys!

You left France? After 4 hours? Wow, I can’t imagine having to leave the home of the awesome—and hot…-- CMs. That must have been awful for you. But you were going to EMH at MK, so it’s all good.

I haven’t seen the Country Bear Jamboree in AGES. I would like it though now since I’m nuts and crazy too. Sounds perfect for me!

That’s really too bad there was no rock and roll guy like last time on Splash…

I can’t wait to hear about part 2 of getting drunk on food! Awesome!

Hi! Just joining this trip report, so I am totally not caught up- I read your earlier report and it was awesome! You are seriously hilarious and I cracked up the whole time I read it. Love your stories and pics.

Once the ride started going again, Master Gracey repeated the line, "Oh, and there's another matter I forgot to mention, beware of hitch hiking ghosts!" And I was like, "UH, you ALREADY SAID THAT." And my mom said, "Oh! THERE they are!" once the ghosts appeared. You had to be there but it was SO FUNNY in our delirium. I think we then started talking to the ghost in our Doom Buggy. I probably said something to it in a British accent b/c that's what I do when I'm in a silly mood. I do this weird Cockney thing that sometimes blends with an Australian accent. "Oy! Nice to meet you, chap!" It's all a blur.

This actually made me laugh out loud very loudly- I. do. this. haha!

Can't wait to read more!

living with the land looks so cool at night. The fairy lights weren't on when we went to see it or if they were we didn't notice

It was VERY hard to pull myself away, trust me!!!

Sounds like the attraction for you! :thumbsup2 I wouldn't say it's a must do on every trip, but it really is a lot of fun. Very weird fun.

I agree! I wonder where that guy is now. LOL.

Awesome, yes. Appropriate.... hmm not so much. LOL you'll see!

Yay! :welcome: Glad to have you on board! I'm so happy you enjoyed my previous TR. Thanks so much!

Oh, Lia, you capture the essence of Disney so beautifully. I love it.

That is a great compliment! Thank you! pixiedust:

I agree! It was a beautiful new way to experience the ride!

I just finally finished going through your McLovin's tr. I loved it!!! What a wonderful tr!! I could relate to it, because it's already been over a year since I have been there and I know I will be feeling the way you described when I FINALLY get back. Which is still like 16 months away. :sad2: Anywho, the tr was very uplifting for me. This has been such a crazy rough year for me and the icing that was not on the cake I didn't have was/is no Disney trip. And your trip, both the tr and bonus updates about your next trip, was just like YES, sometimes it is VERY hard to get back, but luckily our home is always there ready to welcome us back and re-capture our hearts all over again. So thanks for that treat! I hope you are having a great day and I can't wait for a new update from your most recent trip!

I forgot everything I was going to say, so I'll just say that you make me laugh. :lmao: And you're getting me so excited to do EMH at MK on Sunday!!!! :woohoo: (Lame comment of the year award, right here.)
