Your ULTIMATE SURVIVAL GUIDE to Disney World at Christmas Time! UPDATE x2 10/21

Hi! I have just caught up with your TR and it's awesome! I've never been to WDW at Christmas, you are making me want to plan a trip! I'm a teacher so it's hard to get down there in December and I haven't been brave enough to go Christmas week.

I was totally cracking up when you brought up the 2005 planning DVD with Luke, Erin, and Dave! I make my kids watch it ALL the time- they can quote it! haha!!

Thanks, but, I have a question. Do you have an iPhone or Verizon, cause that's what Mobile Magic's available on (and I really want one of them for my birthday).

I have an iPhone! You can download Mobile Magic as an app on iTunes!

Hi! I have just caught up with your TR and it's awesome! I've never been to WDW at Christmas, you are making me want to plan a trip! I'm a teacher so it's hard to get down there in December and I haven't been brave enough to go Christmas week.

Hooray! I'm so glad! I hope you can make your trip down there someday!

Oh my God I'm so glad you know what I'm talking about!! So can I! I used to watch it EVERY SINGLE NIGHT before my Disney trip when I was in 8th or 9th grade. It's just the best! :lovestruc

Thank GOD the rain subsided! That could have been a bad situation.

Christmas Tip #40: As far as the Candlelight Processional Dining Package, I recommend it if you are going during Christmas week. (December 24th – December 31st) However, if you are going at the beginning of December, I would just skip the package. It’s overpriced for when the early December crowds are so low. Just make sure you line up about an hour ahead of time and you should be all set!

YES. I can confirm both of these things. Sigh. Ah well, you live and learn I guess.

WOW your IllumiNations pictures are amazing. I've never stood in that spot before but I want to next time! Usually I'm too hypnotized by the gorgeous French men to move but I will have to force myself on our next trip.

The Maelstrom wait was only 45 minutes?! Usually I never see the wait below 120 minutes and that is only because I go during low crowd times.

If you're looking for Disney pajama shorts, I just bought some like 3 days ago. http://www.disneystore.com/sleepwea...-shorts-for-women/mp/1309364/1000224+1000765/ I wanted the matching top but they only had XXL in the store, thank God for Disneystore.com haha

OMG THE GANGSTA LUMBERJACK. :rotfl:

Aww, sad you were disappointed by the Croque Monsieur. I always want to try that but I must have the mac & cheese every time! It is just too amazing.

YAY I'm glad I inspired you to try the chocolate ice cream! I too am a vanilla person, but that chocolate is just SO delicious and light and fluffy!

So, you work at an ice cream shop? Do you just eat it all day? I would be so fat if I worked at an ice cream shop. Seriously. LOL.

Chapter 51: Cape May Cafe!

Corn, Pasta, Clams, and Crab Legs:

Pizza, DELICIOUS Garlic Rolls, and Corn Bread:

KIDS' FOOD! Green Beans and Chicken Nuggets:

dsc0599uv.jpg

Alright, those are my few pictures of the buffet. Sorry they're not the best, but clearly I was in a rush to start eating food!

I took plenty of pictures of our individual plates!

I'm guessing this is my Mom's plate because I have NO idea what that red stuff is in the front left. All I can pick out is the Caesar Salad, some Cantaloupe, and shrimp!

EDIT: Hello there, it's Kristen. Being the foodie that I am and the type of person who will eat anything that you put in front of me, I can tell you that the "red stuff" is actually quinoa. Looks like some hearts of palm in there as well. It's quite delicious!

dsc0602h.jpg

Sa-LAD. (Another SpongeBob reference. Seriously, I don't know what's up with me lately. I swear I haven't watched that show in years! hahaha)

dsc0603bx.jpg

This looks like it could be Jonathan's plate. Caesar Salad and Crab Legs! (And the little cup is filled with melted butter for the crab) Solid choices.

dsc0604w.jpg

Oh well... clearly this is my plate.

dsc0605on.jpg

Let's see, I'm just going to list out all of my food and notes for you guys.
- Garlic Roll: Absolutely divine. It was SUPER soft!
- Crab Legs: they were AMAZING! That's the huge reason people really come to this buffet. Not only do you get unlimited crab legs, but you get a whole buffet of food as well! It's well worth the price just for this fact. Everytime a new pan of crab legs would come out on the buffet they would be gone within minutes!
- Melted Butter: buttery.
- Green Beans: I specifically noted that they were REALLY GOOD!
- A Fish Nugget
- Cesar Salad
- Corn Bread: this was dry, unfortunately
- Potatoes: a little salty
- And last but not least, the Prime Rib: this was delicious and tender!

I'm gonna guess that I ate most, if not all of the food on this plate. The only thing I probably didn't finish was like... the cornbread or something.

OH BOY, MY SECOND PLATE! (seriously, how do I eat this much food?! I'm sure you all are laughing at me and simultaneously wondering how I'm not morbidly obese. Yeah... I have yet to figure out that answer too.)

dsc0606ac.jpg

List time!

- In the back right corner there's some New England Clam Chowder: YUM! That seriously is my favorite type of soup/chowder of all time. However, it's SO bad for you so I rarely ever eat it. That night, though, was the exception. I was beyond happy with that decision!
- Now if you look at the plate I have more Green Beans, which I obviously was a huge fan of.
- Crab Legs, again! NOM NOM NOM.
- DISNEY PIZZA: yes, it's made out of the same ingredients as the personal pan pizza found at most Disney quick service locations. It was just baked as a large pizza size and cut into little slices for the kid's station!
- Mashed Potatoes: YUM!
- And lastly, Pasta: YUM AGAIN! YAY MORE CARBS!

Mmmm. ♥ ♥ ♥

I posted on twitter:
I need to learn to control myself at buffets.... Jk that's a lost cause #capemay

Lia, being the completely understanding Diser that she is, responded by saying:
LOL we will never learn to control ourselves at disney in any way. #frumps

And I said back to her:
so, so true. And I wouldn't have it any other way :-) #frumpsforever ♥ #disneyislife ♥

I'm just glad I'm not the only insane one!

So I'm sure you're thinking that I, personally, ate enough to feed an entire army.

Well... you're probably right.

HOWEVER, that doesn't mean I didn't have room for dessert! Especially because that's the REASON I booked this dinner!

So I frumped my way over to the lovely dessert table to scope out the scene.

dsc0611m.jpg

Ahh, here are the little winners.

dsc0612ml.jpg

And here's the other dessert table with your more "typical" treats like brownies, rice krispies, blondies, and cookies. Still ridiculously delicious!

dsc0613n.jpg

I'm guessing this is my Mom's. This plate features an Oreo Bon Bon, Flan, and Brownie:

dsc0607le.jpg

This is mine. Teehee. :-) A Key Lime Tart in the back left, the Raspberry Cheesecake front and center, (YUM!) and the Oreo Bon Bon to the right. (YUM AND WOW!!!!)

dsc0609so.jpg

The dessert I booked this dinner for was the Oreo Bon Bon! When I stayed Club Level at the Yacht Club for the first frump trip/my graduation present, they had these desserts out one night. STUPID ME completely bypassed the Oreo Bon Bons! After that I kept seeing pictures of them ALL over disboards, so I had to try them!

Let me tell you, they did not disappoint! Oh my God I probably had 2 or 3 of those alone! It's a soft oreo cookie on the bottom, mousse in the middle, and a chocolate coating on the outside. For some reason I was surprised that the inside was white, but I'm guessing it was Cookies and Cream flavored mousse.

dsc0610tv.jpg

As for the other desserts, they were all AWESOME! My second favorite was the raspberry cheesecake. I love that it's a sampler size!

My Dad LOVED the Blondies. Jonathan said they reminded him of the inside of a butterfinger.

Mom specifically loved the Brownies. She said they were fudgey and gooey and perfect!

Another awesome part about Cape May is that you get to draw on the table cloth! Here are some pictures of our artistic masterpieces.

This one was drawn by my Mom:

dsc0623yt.jpg

This one was drawn by me!

dsc0621g.jpg

Once we all reached our breaking points, it was time to settle the bill. Dad left Adam an even bigger tip than our TiW card left because we loved him that much! He was an awesome waiter!

I posted on twitter:
Oh my God I ate SO much. I'm waddling.

That's what I call one successful meal.

Overview of Cape May Cafe:
Waiter: Adam
Service: He was SO personable and held great conversations with us. He really took the time to make sure we were happy and taken care of. Excellent! 5/5
Atmosphere: I LOVE the Beach Theme! It wasn't too crowded and it felt very organized for a buffet! 4.5/5
Food: The food ran out fast and some was cold, but it wasn't bad enough to make an impact on my experience. They were constantly bringing out new dishes of everything! Overall, my entire meal was absolutely phenomenal and my whole family was REALLY happy! This was probably one of our top favorites on this entire trip! 4.5/5

Ahh Cape May... it's such a hidden gem. I love recommending it to people because it's not well known and I know they will be pleasantly surprised. So if you haven't before, GO! You can easily get to the resort by walking out the back entrance of Epcot in the United Kingdom. It takes FIVE minutes. The food is so worth it and I'm positive that you'll leave will a very happy and very full stomach!

I grabbed a picture of the Beach Club Lobby on the way out:

dsc0624l.jpg

Outside of the resort:

dsc0626g.jpg

Hollywood Studios was our next stop that night. It was time to trek on back there!

The Swan and Dolphin had SUCH pretty, colorful lights. I was so impressed when we walked by, so I had to snap a couple pictures.

dsc0631l.jpg

WOW, right? This pathway back here really is a sight to be seen during the day AND at night!

dsc0634bu.jpg

THE SWANK!

dsc0630q.jpg

The beautiful Boardwalk! My Dad really wants to stay there someday. He's a huge fan. (I think it's because they house the ESPN zone haha. But really.)

Thank you for your TR. It's wonderful :)

All caught up!! Great updates! I can't wait to spend the Holidays in Disney now!! I was excited before I started reading your Christmas TR coverage, but now I'm even more excited!!

CP looks soooo beautiful! I think we are going to try to do it when we go in November! Neal Patrick Harris is Narrarating, so it should be cool!

The story tellers look really fun to watch!

I haven't watched Voices of Liberty yet, but it's on my must do list for November!

Your lunches looked good! I'm sorry your sandwich didn't live up to your expectations! I hate when that happens! At least it wasn't horrible or anything like that though! You live and you learn!

That ice cream looks pretty delish! I might have to try it out next time! Ice cream crepes might hinder me from trying the cone, though! I'm not sure I could resist the crepes! hahaha

Can't wait to read more!

YES. I can confirm both of these things. Sigh. Ah well, you live and learn I guess.

Yes, exactly. Don't regret it, because at least you got to see the show and have a delicious meal! It's better than getting jipped out of the entire experience all together or something. Next time you'll just know and now you won't have to wonder! :goodvibes

WOW your IllumiNations pictures are amazing. I've never stood in that spot before but I want to next time! Usually I'm too hypnotized by the gorgeous French men to move but I will have to force myself on our next trip.

Thank you! I couldn't believe how amazing our view was from there! You definitely should!

The Maelstrom wait was only 45 minutes?! Usually I never see the wait below 120 minutes and that is only because I go during low crowd times.

I know! Clearly something was wrong that day!

Well those are cute!!! Oh my God WHY AM I A SUCKER FOR ALL DISNEY MERCHANDISE!? Geez.

OMG THE GANGSTA LUMBERJACK. :rotfl:

Aww, sad you were disappointed by the Croque Monsieur. I always want to try that but I must have the mac & cheese every time! It is just too amazing.

I know! I wish it would have been good that one time so I wouldn't have to sacrifice my mac and cheese again. And dang it, NOW I'M CRAVING THAT MAC AND CHEESE. (yes, that needed to be in all caps) That could also be because I am starving, though, and pretty much any Disney food sounds fantastic at this moment.

YAY I'm glad I inspired you to try the chocolate ice cream! I too am a vanilla person, but that chocolate is just SO delicious and light and fluffy!

I seriously took SO many tips from your first trip report - THANK YOU! It is really really good!

So, you work at an ice cream shop? Do you just eat it all day? I would be so fat if I worked at an ice cream shop. Seriously. LOL.

Yes I do! And lol I pretty much eat ice cream like EVERY day! :rotfl: I try not to eat it when I work, (but sometimes I do) and then whenever I don't work I usually end up there for dessert after dinner, some way or another. Thank goodness it's a seasonal job! :lmao:

Thank you for your TR. It's wonderful :)

You're welcome! Thank you for reading it! :goodvibes

Oh my gosh, yes, DEFINITELY make sure you see it! It is beautiful!!

The story tellers look really fun to watch!

I haven't watched Voices of Liberty yet, but it's on my must do list for November!

There were such amazing entertainment opportunities at Epcot during the holiday season... so make sure you see them!!

Your lunches looked good! I'm sorry your sandwich didn't live up to your expectations! I hate when that happens! At least it wasn't horrible or anything like that though! You live and you learn!

That's alright! Yeah, I think it was just an off day. I'm pretty sure it has potential to be better. Someday when I do my DCP I'll go back to Les Chefs and try it again!

That ice cream looks pretty delish! I might have to try it out next time! Ice cream crepes might hinder me from trying the cone, though! I'm not sure I could resist the crepes! hahaha

Haha I know! I need to get one of those crepes for sure!

Can't wait to read more!

Thank you!

Candlelight looks amazing! I really want to see it one of these days!

I'm glad you stayed for Illuminations! Your pictures are amazing! I just love that song! "We Go On" gets me every time!

Yumm, Chefs! Too bad you had a girl! :lmao: Our server was looking mightly fine on our last visit! ;) :lmao:

I'd love to hear all of those stories! It's so interesting to learn about other cultures. That's such a nice touch Disney does! :goodvibes

I just love the Epcot holiday storytellers! Such a great addition to wdw at Christmastime <3

It stinks that you were a little disappointed in your chefs de france meal. I have dreams about their french onion soup :)

Pre-Trip Report #2: Summer Recap and Disneyland Plans!
July 24th, 2012

Alright everyone, I realized that it has been FAR too long since I have done a Real Life update or Disneyland pre-trip report update... so that is going to happen right now!

First off - the real life update. I thought I'd give you the run down on my summer since I've only been posting Christmas updates like a maniac!

Basically, I haven't had an eventful summer (yet) because this has basically been the summer where Jess gets stuff done! I took THREE online classes all throughout the month of June: Biology, Spanish, and Ethics! I am happy to report that I got A's in all three of them! I got a lot of college credits out of the way and I'm SO happy!

Secondly, since the day after I got home from Disney in May, I have been working one job at an Ice Cream place! That is tons of fun - all of the girls I work with are so nice, my boss is crazy and awesome, and I get to make ice cream the entire time I work! Nothing can get better than that, right? This is my second summer working there and I love it!

I work my ice cream job a few nights a week, so back in June (before I started my second job) I had a little bit more time to do some fun stuff. For example, Kristen, her sister Sarah, her parents, and I all went to the drive-in to see Brave! First we went to this little place that has burgers and such, and I got some of my beloved sweet potato fries!

sweeti.jpg

Then at the drive-in we put TONS of blankets in the back of my car, had a big ol' bowl of popcorn and some pastry hearts, and enjoyed our first time viewing of Brave!

43824b4ec0c511e1abd6123.jpg

FRUMPS AT THE DRIVE IN!

drivein.jpg

I thought Brave was absolutely adorable! It wasn't Tangled by any means, but I was very entertained throughout the whole thing! I really didn't know what to expect from the movie, but I really liked what I saw! Merida's Dad CRACKED ME UP! And I thought that Merida had such a great attitude and strong personality. I loved her whole independence aspect and I thought it was cool how Disney made it like a mother-daughter/family togetherness movie!

13b6ac6ac0d511e1abd6123.jpg

Brave was really enjoyable and I'm glad I got to see it with Kristen and Sarah! Last summer we did our whole Drive-in outing and saw Winnie the Pooh and Cars 2! We're hoping to make it an annual thing when new Disney movies come out every summer!

f9b69b96c0c411e1b10e123.jpg

Then later that weekend, Kristen and I impulsively decided to go to the Beach Boy's concert! They were coming to town and we didn't want to pass up that opportunity. Kristen and I both grew up on Beach Boys music and if we missed this concert, who knows when they would show up again!

e1b2c4f8c34311e19858220.jpg

abaf0966c34311e1b10e123.jpg

When my Dad heard that we were going, he kept hinting that he wanted to come too! So we invited him along and the three of us had a BLAST! It was so much fun! We ended up having seats in like the 11th row! It was INCREDIBLE!

2ca659f2c34411e19858220.jpg

The Beach Boys sounded great! Even though they are in their 70's now, they put on a FANTASTIC show that kept us entertained the entire time! This was their 50th Anniversary tour. Not many bands can say they have been performing for that long - the Beach Boys are AWESOME!

025676fec34511e1af76123.jpg

Kristen and I were hoping that John Stamos would make an appearance because sometimes he does at their concerts. However, it was not meant to be on that night. Sadness. However, they did play "Forever." Aka the ever-famous song from the Jesse and Becky wedding episode of Full House. Kristen and I were both in tears. SO AMAZING.

dd2ac6fcc34211e1be6a123.jpg

I put together a little 3 1/2 minute video of the concert if any of you are interested:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8b9gle5rKQI&feature=plcp

I LOVE THE BEACH BOYS.

Once we drove all the way home, Kristen and I got a little hungry. The pizza place right down my street is apparently open until 3 am on the weekends, so we made a little late night trip to get two of our favorite foods: pizza and ice cream!

4b19693cc34511e1aaec220.jpg

(In a waffle cone OBVIOUSLY!)

ce4b4f82c34511e18e3c220.jpg

We also got Beach Boys shirts. This is honestly my favorite T-Shirt that I have ever gotten from a show EVER. It has all of the Beach Boys song lyrics on it. SO CUTE!

e8e2ab7cc3a611e1aee5220.jpg

Considering I'm going to California this summer, the Beach Boys were really the perfect concert to see! We had such a fun time - it was probably my favorite night of the summer!

Back in June, I got pretty crafty and started making projects whenever I wasn't doing homework! My first project was my new pin binders!

The materials were: a zipper binder, foam sheets, heavy duty page protectors, iron on appliques, stickers, and PINS!

Here is the front of one of my binders (I have two):

dsc1347yh.jpg

And here are some examples of pin pages.

Mickey and Friends:

dsc1348z.jpg

Happiest Celebration on Earth:

dsc1350x.jpg

Stitch:

dsc0004us.jpg

I thought that this would be a really good way to display my growing collection! I still have lots of space in the two binders to add more pins! They are great because I can easily show them off or I could put them away if need be. It keeps the pins all in one place!

My other project was my countdown calendar for Disneyland!

The materials used were: Disney clip art images printed onto cardstock, scotch laminating sheets, posterboard, and velcro.

Here is the result:

dsc0011ea.jpg

dsc0012nz.jpg

Let me tell you, this made counting down SO much more fun! Also, it will be reusable after this trip so I can always start counting 60 days out!

As July rolled around, I started my second job as a town recreation counselor! So I get to hang out with kids all day every day. It has been a lot of fun - there are some real cutie pies that I absolutely love! I think we bond well because we can always have a good topic to talk about - Disney Princesses! We get to go on field trips every week, too. The first week we went to the movies, (and I saw Brave again - FOR FREE!) then last week we went to the zoo, and tomorrow we are going to an amusement park. It's a really fun job but it is VERY tiring! It's every single day, six hours and a half hours a day. Then add a couple days in with an ice cream shift immediately afterwords as well as getting stuff ready to go for my trips/college... and you basically have summed up my crazy life! WOO. What a summer.

However, on some of my nights off, my Mom and I pulled out the Disney cookbooks and made some Disney food at home! The cookbooks we use are Delicious Disney and Chef Mickey's!

Our first creation was the Cheddar Cheese Soup from Le Cellier:

0dc24bc8c94c11e1b9f1123.jpg

This was AMAZING! Out of all the recipes, this one tasted the most like the original. My whole family was LOVING it! I also found a quick recipe for pretzel bread on cooks.com and that was the PERFECT compliment! YUM.

Our second recipe was Berry Cobbler from Artist Point:

f519da9cc94f11e19894123.jpg

THIS WAS INCREDIBLE. It tasted a little bit like a blueberry pancake but in dessert form. I love fruity desserts (especially a la mode!) so this was right up my alley.

Then we made Kona Bread:

937b8860cb9f11e1bef7220.jpg

This bread was good... but it was not the same as the Polynesian version. It had more of a corn bread texture rather than being light and fluffy. It still had wonderful flavor... but it was much too dense to be THE BREAD. Maybe the yeast needed to rise longer? I don't know.

And lastly, we made the Liberty Tree Tavern Pot Roast!

5495910ecb9f11e19b06220.jpg

This was DELICIOUS! It was such a great entree. It was a little different than the one in the restaurant, however it still tasted awesome. I would be willing to eat that dinner any day of the week!

Now, this isn't Disney food, but I wanted to show off my Pascal Bowl and Rapunzel plate (thanks Kristen!) from Disneystore.com! THEY'RE SO PERFECT!

5ba59714d41e11e18ce6220.jpg

Alright! So that's basically what has been going on with me! Also, Preston and I are still doing great and I get to finally see him in 18 DAYS! I can't believe it! I want to say that the time went slow... but it honestly FLEW by! I'm so glad, too! I miss that kid!

Then in 24 days I AM GOING TO CALIFORNIA AHHHHHHH!!!!!! :-) I literally can't even believe I can say those words and mean them. It seems absolutely UNREAL! I updated my iPhone with Disneyland music last night and I have been listening to it non-stop! I am SO READY! This is a very well deserved vacation after all of the hard work I have been doing this summer!

After much deliberation, I FINALLY have decided on my restaurant choices for this trip! I'll give you all the basic rundown of the current plan. Things could change, but this is what I'm thinkin' right now!

August 17th-20th:
My only two off property restaurant priorities are In N Out Burger and the Disney Soda Fountain and Studio Store!
Any other must do dining suggestions in the Hollywood area?

August 21st:
Carnation Cafe
Ralph Brennan's

August 22nd:
Blue Bayou
The Plaza

August 23rd:
Carnation Cafe
Goofy's Kitchen

August 24th:
Hungry Bear
Cafe Orleans

August 25th:
Ariel's Grotto
Boardwalk Pizza and Pasta

August 26th:
Pacific Wharf
Storyteller Cafe

August 27th:
Carthay Circle
Naples

August 28th:
Carnation Cafe
Napa Rose

August 29th:
Storyteller Cafe

What do you guys think!? I think it's a pretty solid plan! I also have a big ol' list of snacks that I want to try... we will see how many of them I actually get to eat!

If there's anything you think that I missed, PLEASE let me know! I am open to suggestions just so I can make sure I'm not missing out!

So that's basically all of the news I have for today! I hope you enjoyed this rambling update. Stay tuned for the next installment of the Christmas Trip Report! Have a magical day, everyone!

This is so cute! We're so precious. <3

I LOVE YOUR PLANS. EPIC NOMS.

And I should have been over for this Disney cooking spree, I think.

WHERE THE HECK WAS I!? :(

:goodvibes

It was! You should!
Thank you! I'm glad you like them! Yes, that song is incredible. I want to play it at my wedding. :lovestruc
Haha I know! LUCKY!
I hope that you're enjoying my summaries of them - they give you all a little preview!

I was thinking about how you mentioned that the crowds were so bad that it ended up being humerous. I really like and appreciate that way of thinking. Not everyone can take a situation like that and make it in to something funny that will give you a good memory. Some people will always focus on the bad in any situation. I love people who can look at the good in things and spread a bit of happiness while doing it! Good for you!

Aww thank you so much for that compliment. That really means a lot to me! That was the best trip of my entire life and even though it was crowded, I was not phased AT ALL. For some reason, I just find the crowds funny. I think because I always know I'm going to go back, and there's no reason to fret about it. I just live in the moment and take whatever is happening and make the best of it!

I just love the Epcot holiday storytellers! Such a great addition to wdw at Christmastime <3

It stinks that you were a little disappointed in your chefs de france meal. I have dreams about their french onion soup :)

They're so beautiful!
I know... oh well. It wasn't awful, it just wasn't the best. I LOVE their lobster bisque and mac and cheese. That's my favorite.

This is so cute! We're so precious. <3

I LOVE YOUR PLANS. EPIC NOMS.

And I should have been over for this Disney cooking spree, I think.

WHERE THE HECK WAS I!? :(

Thank you! I FINALLY got around to posting it all... almost a month later.
Thank you! I think I narrowed it down to the best of the best! I stalked that food pictures thread like it was my job!
And yeah you should have been! I don't know where you were :( I can't even remember what was going on when we made those meals because it was a while ago now. :confused3

I've been a lurker on your TRs for awhile now and wanted to pop in to tell you to come make a PTR/TR on the Disneyland side of the board! (We're nice, promise).

Your dining for DLR looks amazing -- you're going to be eating at pretty much every table service! Hungry Bear is my favorite counter service at DL, the scenery is amazing.

Oh and when you go to In-n-Out and if you like secret sauce and onions, get your burgers and fries animal style (if you didn't know that already!).

Can't wait for more!

-I LOVE when you do real-life updates!
-Wow! Busy girl!
-That's really good! How many credits do you have? Right now I'm technically in my third year, but I'm still a sophomore because when I transferred from community college to a university, most of my credits didn't transfer :( So, I'm at 36 credit hours right now...
-Sounds like you have an awesome job! I just got a job too! I started working June 25th, and I love it! I work at Kiddie Kandids (a kids photography studio) inside Babies R Us and it's so much fun!
-I love sweet potato fries (and sweet potatoes in general)!!!!
-I still haven't seen Brave....but I'm thinking I'm going to go next week by myself and see it!
-I've always wanted to see the Beach Boys! I am really hoping that they do a tour with Jimmy Buffet and Kenny Chesney! That's one of my dream concerts :)
-Oh goodness! I would've been crying too! I love that song :)
-So I just watched your video and commented on the black friday one, but I have to tell you that your probably my favorite youtube channel :) You should subscribe to me!
-I LOVE the Beach Boys shirt! Adorable!
-I am so jealous of your pin binders! I seriously need to start doing some hard core collecting!
-The countdown calendar idea is Adorbs! I might borrow the idea :)
-I have been trying to find some of the Disney cookbooks on ebay! I really wanna make that soup now!
-I love your list of restaurants! Sounds like your going to have an AMAZING time!

Yeah, and you guys moved out even earlier than us!
I feel like we move out SO early! I wish we could have another month....

It was the best cake I ever had in my life. Besides my Little Mermaid cake my Mom made for my 5th birthday!
Sounds like it :) I had a Little Mermaid cake for my 5th birthday too!

Thank you! We use thin brushes and a dotting tool for the little details... but other than that you just need a steady hand!
I'll have to buy one of those dotting tools! I'm just tired of one colored nails!

Crew necks = life.
This.Is.True  I seriously don't know what I would do without them!

You can always buy one when you do the DCP!
Very true! I have the red lidded one from my 2010 trip!

Yes you do! WPE is the best QS on property - hands down.
It's #1 on my list of restaurants to try!

Haha I know, the DCP is going to take all of my money! But oh well, at least it'll be worth it.
It really will :)

I got three of them!
I feel like we would seriously be best friends if we lived closer! Between our love of Disney, shopping, and Disney shopping....we'd make a dangerous pair!

You definitely should!
I'm stalking the website right now....

I don't use photopass anymore because it is RIDICULOUSLY overpriced. My camera takes better pictures, in all honesty. I just don't think it's worth it.
That's exactly what I was thinking! I have a Olympus dslr...and it takes just as good if not better pictures that photopass!

OMG 24 Days?!?!?! It really has flown by!!! Your summer sounds wonderful! LOL, I'm stuck in an office for 40 hours a week! :surfweb: The only thing getting me through is listening to Disney podcasts and music from the parks. I really should try to make some of the recipes from Disney. Those looked delicious! :thumbsup2

Since I have never been to Disneyland (despite my wishes to go) I cannot say anything about your dining plans but that they sound good! :rotfl: I seriously am so excited to hear all about Disneyland.

I am sooooo jealous of your Disneyland trip (although I will be in WDW at the same time- YAY!) There is a Disneyland Explorer app on the iPad that is so awesome and it makes me want to go. Also just read a few books set in DL (Hidden Mickey series). Sounds amazing and I can't wait to hear about!!

Aww thank you so much for the invite! I would love to start one... but I don't know if I'm going to have enough time to before I go! If I somehow do, though, I will be over there ASAP! If not, I'll start the TR right when I get home and hopefully I'll get some followers from the west coast

Thank you! Yeah, that's what I was hoping for! We are big table service fans when we go on WDW trips, and the DLR TS food looks incredible! I really don't want to miss out! And ahhh I know Hungry Bear is going to end up being one of my favorites too! SWEET POTATO FRIES!!!!

I have not heard about that! What does it mean exactly...? Sounds a little scary :rotfl:

Thank you! Thanks for being here!

VERY BUSY. It's been nonstop.
I don't even know how many I have. I know that I got 9 for doing those three classes this summer!
That's really fun!
Sweet Potato fries are like my favorite food. Seriously.

Aww that would be awesome! My Dad and my Boss are OBSESSED with Jimmy Buffet so I have always loved him oo!
Haha thanks!
Pins are my favorite!

YES! Isn't that crazy!? I'm so excited!
Summer has been pretty good. I have been kind of crabby because I have been working so much. But I'm sure you understand working 40 hours a week! Disney music sure solves everything!
Thanks!
I'm glad you think so! LOL I am excited to write a DLR trip report! It'll be a new experience!

Aww thanks! YAY FOR WDW! Kristen is going to be in WDW when I'm in DLR too! Keep an eye out for her! I really wanted to get a DLR book... I should do that before my trip! So much to do! :faint:
I hope you have a magical trip!

Thank you! Thanks for being here!

It's on their secret menu and if you ask for your burger animal style it comes (from wikipedia): "Animal Style burgers include pickles, extra spread, grilled onions, and mustard fried onto each meat patty."

If you get it on your fries (my favorite), it has spread, cheese, and grilled onions. Super super yum! If you google it, there's pictures.

Also they have Neapolitan shakes (chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry swirl) that's not on their menu. Sooo goood. The In-N-Out menu is super small, so it's nice they have secret things like that.

So excited for you at Disneyland! :hyper:

Okay I’m finally back from all my trips so I’m ready to catch up on your TR! I have missed a ton of updates, so prepare for a super long comment! I apologize in advance!

Ahh wow that Yuletide Fantasy Tour just keeps getting better and better! The Holiday Services building sounds amazing, and all of the facts you shared are fascinating! Seriously, thank you! I felt like I was reading one of those really cool Disney fact books!

Awww oh my gosh those Christmas stories got me. I can totally see why you would tear up at that!

I LOVE THAT PIN! That’s so cool that you got such a special keepsake! :thumbsup2

Oh the mysterious Tomorrowland Terrace Cafe! I’m so glad you got to eat there! That’s a good Disney Bucket List item!

Haha you’re not kidding about those Christmas crowds. You have to laugh. It’s just so ridiculous!

Where is your friend Ryan from? John and I talked to a super nice CM when we were in line for the Jungle Cruise on our trip, and I want to say his name was Ryan. He was from Erie, PA. I remember because I have family there, and we talked about how people call it “Dreary Erie: The Mistake by the Lake”. Haha anyway, I thought it might be him!

I love the Wishes dessert party so much! We’ve only done it once, but I desperately want to do it again! It’s so nice, especially during the holidays when you don’t have to worry about fighting those crazy crowds for a viewing spot!

Your fishing excursion sounds fun! You guys caught a lot of big ones! I’m with your mom, though- I can’t actually stand to touch the fish haha! :rotfl:

We have a place here like Teppan Edo too. It’s called Arigatos, and I LOVE IT! I can’t compare it to Teppan Edo, though, because I’ve never been there! We were eating at Tokyo Dining last summer, though, and they gave us the chocolate ginger cake as an anniversary dessert. It was so good!

I still can’t believe I’ve never seen the Candlelight Processional all the way through! It really looks like a beautiful show!

I GOT THE PLUTO PILLOW PET! I have slept with him every night since I got home! He’s so soft!! :lovestruc

You’re not kidding about the Voices of Liberty. Their voices are out of this world.

Okay, now I’m all caught up and I just read your life update! It sounds like you’ve had a very productive summer! I love your homemade pin binders! Those are really cute! Also, all that food you made looks amazing! I have made the cheddar cheese soup at home a couple times and it came out great, and I made the macadamia nut pancakes from Kona! I love cooking Disney food!

I’m so glad you get to see Preston soon! That’s great! I know how exciting that is! And your trip to DL is so close! YAY! Jess, I’m so happy your wait for all this awesome stuff is almost over!! I hope you have a blast! You’ve earned it!
