So excited to be checking in at AKL 9/15-9/20. This has always been one of my dream resorts and we got such a great deal, we are going to celebrate our anniversary! We plan to spend most of the time relaxing at the resort this trip and only 2 days at the parks (including MNSSHP). Can't wait! Thanks so much for all the great pictures. I'm getting even more excited reading through the threads.

We were going to do a Split stay with AMS 1 night and AKL Kidani savanna studio 5 nights but I was concerned about switching resorts. I just changed our first night to AKL standard. I have been told it will be easier and that Disney will take care of moving our luggage. We will be there 8/23-8/29. So excited.

....if they don't, make sure you have a strong bungee cord....

Just to bring some closure, I wanted to let everyone know that my Uncle is now at rest and I feel at peace, knowing that he is no longer suffering. Thank you all for being such great friends. I truly appreciate it.

I am worried about my father, he is a strong man but feels deeply for his little brother, they have grown very closer over the past couple of years. and he is taking it very hard.

My Dad had cancer a couple of years ago, and was able to find it very early, treat and has been in remission since, is younger brother, did not know he had cancer until it was almost too late, and they tried everything even experimental treatments, and his older sister has been battling cancer for two years now and also has never been in remission. All three of them have had different forms and responded differently that each other.

I think it is just so close to home, know that all three siblings have/had a form of cancer.

Does anyone know when to expect Christmas decorations to go up in November. I've stayed at WL in the past and they would usually go up about 2 weeks into November. I didn't know if this was standard for all resorts or not.

....they usually begin decorating right after the last weekend of MNSSHP...

My DH and I are staying at Animal Kingdom Lodge October 27 - October 30th. It has been my dream to stay here for years, so when we got a bounce back offer with a good discount we jumped on it!

I do have a potentially stupid question... so, we booked AKL, but I have no idea if we are in Kidani Village or Jambo House. I looked on our e-mail confirmation but I don't see any indication. I know I can just call, but wanted to see if one of them was just DVC and one of them was just regular rooms first.

....nahhhhh....didn't anyone tell ya that they moved HM to AKL as some sort of promo? It's the 'ballroom scene'.....

That was what popped into my mind when I saw the picture, too. What is the HM doing at AKL? Wouldn't that be a great idea for Halloween? Well, actually, now that I think about it. That might just be too scary for me!
