It sure has been hot here lately. At first I welcomed it, embraced it, got all goopy messy hot in it, and now I hate it.

With the air conditioning running at an all time record high in monymonyville, I can’t do anything without becoming a sweaty mess. I am the true definition to “a hot mess” and that is not in a good way.

Why am I starting a TR out this way? We are once again heading to WDW during one of FL’s hottest times. In 16 days baby!:cool1:

We are fully aware of what time of year this is: most crowed, hottest, rainiest, exspensiest, and sweatiest.

Disney in August is a sweat bath. From the second you walk outside all you do is melt. There is nothing I love more than being around a million people who are all sweating and rubbing into one another. And yet, we still go at this time and are EXCITED!

Disney has us right in their back pockets.

Those that know me know that I have been working hard to get through school. In December I will be walking across the stage to receive my BA from the College of Education at WSU: Special Education/CI K-12 and Elementary Education K-8. Sounds good don’t it? Can’t wait! :cool1:

All I have left to do is my student teaching this fall. 18 weeks in the classroom, 5 days a week from the September until January, I can’t wait! That is another reason we go in August.

The kids are beyond excited, all four of them. It’s been a few years since we have been there, the spoiled brats have gone many times. It’s tougher now because I have to pay for ALL of them.

Matt is 15, Zack is turning 14 while in Disney, Mal turns 8 after we get back at the end of August, and Maddy turns 5 while we are in Disney. Yes, November was a busy month for us.:rolleyes1

And my oldest shares the same birthday with the ever so popular and famous Nebo. If the Disney gods will have it, we are vacationing at Disney at the same time and could possibly cross paths. When I asked about this on his current trip report, the best trip report on the dis! I was a kid in a candy store!

Hot dog! Hot dog! Hot diggity dog! This has been a secret dream of mine to meet Nebo face to face. But don’t tell Smidgy!

Tim and I found some great ways to cut corners so for the first time we are staying off site, we rented a house, purchased our tickets through undercover tourist, and Tim is using points he’s earned to stay places with little to no money out of pocket. That’s more Mickey bars for us!

Who’s Tim? My husband, cancer survivor (2008 sucked) and Nebo’s long lost twin.

We are also driving and chose to take a different route that takes us through states we’ve never traveled and along the coast. The parents are excited about this and hope it keeps us more awake; although we do have planned stops along the way.

So, all 7 of us are loading into the Town and Country at midnight on August 5 to start our 1,500+ mile drive to our happy place and we will be there through Aug 15.

Hold it, 7? Say what? 4 children plus 2 adults is 6! I’ll wait for you to do the math……………………….. (she’s graduating from college, hmmmmm???)

Just messing with you, my mom is coming along. We have taken the spoiled children 6 times and she has come with us 5 of those times. She loves Disney as much as we do and she travels with us and my sister’s family, eh sometimes because said sister is on a Disney cruise as I type this and my mom is home getting ready for our trip. This is also another reason for us taking this trip, but in case my sister ever reads this, we won’t get into the details of that.

So please settle in, get ready for some laughs, and I hope you enjoy the rantings of your newest disney crazed friend!

All are welcomed and please POST OFTEN so I know you are reading and I don't get a complex that I am doing this for my own entertainment. Heh.

I'm in! I've in been in August once and swore never again! :) Congrats on finishing up your degree.

Can't wait to hear all about the trip!

I'm here too Monica! Glad you started!

Where are you again? I want to say Michigan for some reason.

Can you be a hot mess in a good way? :confused3

Funny how Disney can remove all common sense from a person.

Congratulations! I really admire that you can fit school in with raising a family.

I'll let Ponzi handle that one.

Win/win!

Yes Ma'am!

Great start! Looking forward to more!

I'm in!.... sort of. I haven't even read your first chapter yet... plus I have to go over and read Shannon's TR... plus, plus, plus... But I will!

Count me in!
Congrats on the anticipated graduation. I know how hard it is to do school/family/job.
For keeping cool and dry, I've read on these boards that Gold Bond Powder works great, though that will wear off early in the day during August in Florida. Apply it liberally.

Alert, Alert, She used "eh". We may have a closet Canadian here....*

Have you been watching the Weather Network lately? It's been colder in Florida than a lot of the North recently. Who knows? You might get some relief - only be a warm mess

Congratulations MonyMony! DW is a SpecEd specialist (Gr 7-8) Most challenging but fulfilling job in school!

Matt is 15, Zack is turning 14 while in Disney, Mal turns 8 after we get back at the end of August, and Maddy turns 5 while we are in Disney. Yes, November was a busy month for us.:rolleyes1

Sucker for a Movember Moustache ? :confused3 Ohhh, that might explain why you follow Nebo and Pecans!

Hot dog! Hot dog! Hot diggity dog! This has been a secret dream of mine to meet Nebo face to face. But don’t tell Smidgy!

After recent Nebo picture postings, I just had a mental image of him in an Oscar Meyer Wiener costume :rotfl:

Shhh... don't tell anyone that you are staying offsite. Volatile subject. Just pretend that you are staying in a value; even if you are saving tons of $$$ by staying offsite

Hold it, 7? Say what? 4 children plus 2 adults is 6! I’ll wait for you to do the math……………………….. (she’s graduating from college, hmmmmm???)

Easy. Spec Ed teacher, special new math.

Glad to be along for the ride. I'll try to keep up, but there are SOOOO many TR's going on right now!!! Thank goodness that Pkondz will be heading home soon. I guess both you and Nebo will have a forced break soon too, so perhaps I can finally get caught up!

We will be arriving Aug. 7 for 7 nts and staying at CSR. Will also be celebrating a birthday while we are there....mine! Aug 9 to be exact. I won't say which birthday :rolleyes1 but we will be having and Epcot day (my favourite) and lunch at Les Chefs that day. When is Maddy's birthday? Yeah for Leos!! :cool1:

You sweet adorable people! Love you all bunches!

Reporting for duty!

Thanks you are so devoted!

Jill I swore too never again in August, yet I got suckered in so gracefully, dingle the mickey bar and I take the bait!

I'm here too Monica! Glad you started!

Thank you Laura!
Where are you again? I want to say Michigan for some reason.

Ding Ding Ding! You win a Mickey bar! I am just 30 mins northeast of Detroit. Look at your right hand, I'm about 1/2 inch south of the bottom of your thumb. One of the perks of living in Michigan!
Can you be a hot mess in a good way? :confused3

Not in this case, I'm a sweater and it drips and slids all over the place.

Funny how Disney can remove all common sense from a person.

I know, just wait until we are in the parks.

Congratulations! I really admire that you can fit school in with raising a family.

I've been going since two months after I found out I was pregnant with Maddy. I'm about to graduate and she is going into all day Kindgergarten this fall. All my kids in school all day,yes!:cool1:

I thought you met him a few years ago. Why do I think that?

There was a group who all went down and my school schedule would not allow me to go. I was madder than a hatter! I had my eyes glued to these boards and got to only see the pics and read the TRs.

What's your route?

Technical questions! I believe we are taking 75 to 25 to 26 to 95 to 4, I think something like that. We have a planned stop in Savannah Georgia. This is Tim's job this trip, I am actually sharing planning responsibilities this time, it was not an easy task, but it's good for me to learn to share.

Great start! Looking forward to more!

Laura, thanks so much!

I'm in!.... sort of. I haven't even read your first chapter yet... plus I have to go over and read Shannon's TR... plus, plus, plus... But I will!

I actually read your first day and half of the second per Nebo's suggestion, so I get it, but thanks so much for trying!

Count me in!

I have had my summer off and it is so hard to do nothing when all you know is 50,000 things at once. I haven't done exactly nothing but no homework is a huge chunk of my time back. The ticks stopped about a week ago but I still have anxiety issues over thinking I forgot to write a 20 page paper.

Glad to be along for the ride. I'll try to keep up, but there are SOOOO many TR's going on right now!!! Thank goodness that Pkondz will be heading home soon. I guess both you and Nebo will have a forced break soon too, so perhaps I can finally get caught up!

Carpe Diem! or you can just wait until we all leave for our vacations.......

:cool1:

I live with two Leo's and grew up with one. Leo's and me are a tough fit. We just clash! Maddy's is on the 13th. I'll have to see what park we will be in on the 9th.

Thanks y'all ROCK! (Maybe that will throw off the Canadian theory, which is wrong, but not far off).

You snuck in there Marita, thanks you always are there!

Well, that's because I have no life, LOL.
But I forgot to mention something earlier. I was eating lunch at my desk today and decided to read something on the Dis and I wanted something new so I could save my regular threads for tonight. So I saw this title that intrigued me and I clicked on it. Imagine my surprise when I found out it was yours!! :cool1:

August, shmaugust...I'd love to be going there in a few days like you and your wonderful family are...hot and sweaty or not.

It makes one appreciate all of the air-conditioned attractions. Now if WDW was like any old theme park with all of their rides and shows just baking in the sun I'd definitely say HECK NO! But *we* all know that WDW ain't any old theme park!

After spending time (locked) in the car with my 5yo DNephew and 3yo DNiece this week, I CANNOT get the MMC theme song out of my head every time I see the title of your trip report. ;)

Roger that Spaceship! Welcome aboard! Me and the really hot August heat in FL aren't a pretty sight, it was more like a warning to you all.
