I fell off the ice cream truck...13 days of DDP with pics!*UPDATE: COMPLETED!!*

can any of you computer savy people help!!?!

i'm seeing that all my pics have disappeared on Photobucket?!?!!? what do it do?!?!?

So there are a couple of things you can do. #1. Upgrade to Pro, #2 wait till next month for them to show up again (but be prepared for them to dissapear quickly again) #3 go to a different photo hosting site.

I actually use shutterfly and never have any issues except I think you can only post the pictures in one size...

thanks for the advice! i decided to go pro, but the photos still are not showing up! Do you think i will have to re-do all of them? :confused3

I'm enjoying your reviews, and thought I'd share the secret to crispy waffles. For super crispy, don't use egg yolks, use whites only- substitute an egg white for every couple of yolks. Whip the whites until they are at a soft peak, then, after you've mixed all the other ingredients, fold the egg whites in very carefully. If you want just crispy, mix the yolks in with the other ingredients and then beat and fold them in. My kids prefer that version, as it is crispy, but not so dry that it falls apart.

[ but i think it is so interesting to see others that eat like him... now... should we try another.. Dan also will eat salad without dressing!?!?! :rotfl2: please tell me you all are on my side on this one LOL!
[/QUOTE]

Okay, I am on your side on this one. You can barely call what I eat salad, it's mostly fixings with dressing - who needs lettuce:rotfl2:

I don't like syrup on anything, I hate the taste and consistency. My poor DBF- we both love waffles and pancakes, but I never keep syrup in my apartment so when I make breakfast he usually misses out. Lots and lots of butter usually makes up the difference for me!

I have done salad with no dressing in the past, but only because the dressing choices weren't doing it for me at the time. It's not how I prefer my salads!

Hi
I always get the ooey gooey cake at LTT. It's the best dessert I've ever had!! Also, never had the veggie burger there and now I don't think I ever will. I usually get the colony salad without the chicken, which is delicious!! Love your reviews!!

i will have to try the colony salad next time (sans chicken lol) :thumbsup2

Just thought you might want to know that today, July 15th, is "National Ice Cream Day"!!! Yup! In 1984, Ronald Reagan designated the the third Sunday in July as National Ice Cream Day, part of July, which is National Ice Cream Month. Reagan said that those two events events should be observed with "appropriate ceremonies and activities."

I had no idea myself, but I sure am going to celebrate, and I'm sure you will too!;)

i know im late replyying but i saw this the day of! and it's a good thing you told me LOL! i'm pretty sure we hit up Rita's! Which is an ice/custard place! which i think counts lol

Here is the link to the recipe I found. http://wheatfreemom.com/blog/recipe-quinoa-chocolate-cake/

I have made this a few times now:upsidedow , the first time I made it I just mixed by hand the eggs, vanilla, milk, and stirred in the quinoa. I found I didn't care for the texture (crunchy quinoa) so the next time I put these ingredients in a blender and it rocked my world! :thumbsup2 I ate the whole thing!::yes:: NEVER bake this while studying, very dangerous!;)

Now back to you food report....:happytv:

YUM! i just found an extra box i must have bought of quinoa, and you know how much you get from just a little! so now i have an excuse to make this! gotta use that quinoaa!!! :rotfl:

wow! i will have to try it! i usually use egg beaters lol, but just using the whites is still keeping it healthy - which i attempt to do for dan LOL.. i make my own clean waffles with wheat flour, almond milk, agave.. etc.! thanks!!

hahaha i always need to keep myself in check when i'm at a buffet with the salad bar...its like a plate of cheese cubes with dressing and 2 pieces of lettuce! :rotfl2:

aww poor BF lol i couldnt live without syrup... i'm trying to make the full switch to agave but man its hard to leave my mapley goodness! lol

omgoodness it seems like i have not been on here in forever! i am re-decorating our living room, new shelves.. new frames... attempting to print wedding pictures... drilling holes in the wall.. spackling the holes i drilled, and then painting!!

it has been a crazy few days! and then, i come on here to check my review yesterday and all my pictures are MIA! well photobucket said i was so popular i exceeded my bandwith.. whatever that means, but instead of reloading all my pics to another website and then putting them back in the review, i bit the bullet and went pro with photobucket.. it was like $25 for the year.. and i've enjoyed writing this review so much i'm considering starting up my own blog - i'm thinking of writing tutorials on crafting, trying out clean recipes, lesson planning/activities/classroom ideas for teachers..and just the daily ridiculousness that is my life.. and i also need to get my etsy shop up and running again! i had some great inspirations for disney themed bows while i was down there (i dabble in making children's accessories as well as home decor/party goods)... but i don't know when i have the time to do all these things LOL.. i guess i just need to suck it up - drink more coffee - and get it done!

well..thank you all for your patience and we are now back to the review!

Breakfast

So we got to the point in the trip where we had pretty much ridden everything we were looking to ride and we felt comfortable going with the flow and kind of playing it by ear (unless we had ressies), so somehow my dear husband managed to get me to agree to another day of...

the sorcerers of the magic kingdom

yeaaaaaup..

breakfast was at pop
disney246.jpg

Cheese Omelet with breakfast potatoe $6.99

Dan had the cheese omelet which he liked... didn't rave about it but it was good.

disney247.jpg

Omelet of the Day with breakfast potatoes $7.29 (veggie)

I had the veggie omelet, this was really good.. stuffed with veggies! they were not skimpy on those at all :thumbsup2 and the potatoes are my absolute fav! so so good, i think i actually ate some of Dan's cause he wasn't crazy about them!

Total:$17.28
DDP: 2 QS
OOP: $0.00

We went to MK and played some of the game, did one or two rides

disney2012511.jpg

and then i was in need of something... so what should i get.. hmm hmmm hmmm.. oh i know..

ice cream

but! this was like the best best best and tastiest thing ever.. remember when i said i love coffee and i love ice cream and together it is like an explosion of amazing goodness! well for your drooling pleasure i present to you

disney249.jpg

Iced Coffee Float - French Vanilla, Mocha, or Latte with soft serve ice cream $4.19

sorry for half of it being missing! LOL you can imagine i could not drink that fast enough! This was beyond amazing.. i got Mocha and for like the first few sips it was kind of warm but when the ice cream started to melt.... pixiedust: it was magic.. i got this at the sunshine tree terrace which has never failed me and is prob my new favorite snack place ever!

I ALMOST DIED when Dan said he didn't like his and threw it in the garbage... I WOULD HAVE DRANK IT!!!! I WOULD HAVE DRANK 6 MORE!!!

i just found a recipe for a Coffee Protein Shake for workout recovery! it tastes like a starbucks frap and i could not be happier... if i cant have the ice coffee float, i can at least have this right lol

Total:$8.38
DDP: 2 snacks
OOP: $0.00

LINNER yes i said linner.. late lunch...early dinner

So Dan had wanted to be at Tortuga Tavern for 5pm because locals go there with their Sorcerer Cards and trade.. so we needed to be in the MK till then or at least in the area... there really weren't any QS locations that appealed to us in MK so we started looking at hotels around there.. we decided on Grand Floridian to eat at Gasparilla's.

disney252.jpg

Dan got the philly cheese steak sandwhich (which i believe was a special because it's not on allears).. it came with some .. and i quote "weird white stuff" BUT Dan said up until now, this was his favorite meal! he LOVE LOVE LOVED IT! and i tried those chips, they were BOMB.COM. seriously so good!

we had both initially wanted to eat here because while we were in MK we looked up menus and saw they had lobster pasta, but when we got there it was no where to be found :confused3

disney254.jpg

Vegetarian Lasagna - Lasagna topped with parmesan cheese and served with garlic Ciabatta bread $6.99

now when this came out it was in like a plastic takeout box.. i was miserable because i was sure this was going to be gross..

was i wrong.. THIS WAS DELICIOUS! who would even think that this sludgy looking this would be good.. but it was! it looks like there is a lot of sauce but there is a ton of lasagna goodness with tons of ricotta and mozz underneath! this was well worth coming out to eat at gasparillas! i do have to say that i did not like the bread sticks though, they were very hard on one side and then the part that was submerged in sauce was soggy.. but i didn't need that when i had dans chips LOL

For dessert we both got

disney253.jpg

All Day Baked Goods $2.29 - $2.79

THIS WAS THE BIGGEST BROWNIE OF MY LIFE. and yummy! Dan liked his so much he had the nerveeee to try and take some of mine!! :lmao: he is obvi so CRAY! that was not happening!

Total:$23 (about because i guessitmated the cost of his sand)
DDP: 2 QS
OOP: $0.00

so that was our linner.. we didn't eat anything for the rest of the night.. i think all this food was beginning to catch up to us!!!

Another great set of reviews :thumbsup2

I love the look of the veggie omelette but when I saw the photo of the veggie lasagne I just thought "yuk" :crazy2: but it sounds like it was delicious!

Curious why DH's kid grilled cheese wasn't on the dining plan? I've ordered kid meals at CS places (Contempo Cafe & Pinocchio Village Haus) and they were included. :confused3

I used the dining plan to order a kid's meal at Tortuga Tavern in MK in Nov of 2011. The CM just made sure I knew it was using a counter service meal credit for it, but had no problem doing it. It's strange Captain Cook's wouldn't do it.

Hi Maria - I'm getting caught up and I've missed about 6 ice-cream reivews -er, I mean dining reviews! :lmao: Hey when the opportunity arrises to indulge in some creamy cold goodness, who would pass that up?? :confused3

Glad to know Gasparillas was a hit and that frosted brownie does look pretty delish! I was wondering what the white goo was on the cheesesteak - a cheese sauce?? At least your DH liked it. :)

I just read your whole review and am loving it so far! :thumbsup2 The espresso ice cream sundae at Ghirardelli's looks so yum! I'm like you, I love ice cream and coffee so when you can put them together. Yhea!

Wow, so I need to loose some weight before I go...lol... It all looks so yummy... Now I have a sweet tooth*sigh*

:wave2: Just wanted to say "hi" from a fellow Bayonnite!

I love your dining report. I got back yesterday from a 5 day trip and I wish I were still there. Had a Ghirrardelli sundae for lunch Monday..the best! :thumbsup2 Had a great meal at Tony's Townsquare too.

Breakfast

As the trip was winding down, i think at this point we decided to repeat our favorite breakfasts.. which was... WAFFLES!

disney257.jpg

POP Waffle with Meat $5.69

again, these are so crispy and tasty! they make them fresh so your not getting a waffle that has been sitting out! we both had the waffles and Dan ate the bacon!

Total: $15.38
DDP: 2 QS
OOP: $0.00

We spent the morning at Hollywood Studios just trying to hit all the stuff we missed, we went to see Indiana Jones stunt spectacular, and in the 20+ years i have seen this show (or at least however long it has been running) this was the first time there were breakdowns in the show, the spears that come up from the ground didn't pop up, and the ball would not release! They redid that part.. but then they cut the show short after the marketplace scene - they didn't even go into the scene with the plane! cray cray! :confused3 i guess they were having "technical difficulties" lol. Dan also agreed to go back to Animation Academy so i can attempt to get different characters! he owed me from the sorcerer's game :rotfl2: AND we actually got two different characters in a row! Jimminy Cricket and Prince Naveen in frog form! SO FUN!!!!

Lunch

WPE is one of our favorite favorite FAVORITE places! and we always get the same exact thing every time we go here! we figured since we had yet to go, we'd head to DTD to get some WPE! We always eat outside the building, just what we do... SO we were very surprised to see that there was no more outdoor seating :scared: bummer! but they did a great job enclosing the outdoor section! I like WPE because you can order and then they bring it over to you, so your not standing up there waiting..

disney2012525.jpg

Macaroni And Cheese $11

Dan loves this mac and cheese, which i can confidently say is his favorite of all time!

disney2012526.jpg

Four Cheese Pesto - Parmesan, mozzarella, fontina, goat cheese, plum tomatoes, fresh basil, sun-tomatoes $12

I had the four cheese pesto and I AM BEING 100% HONEST when i say, this is the best pizza on Disney property.. via napoli was good..captain cookes was.. ehh.. BUT THIS magnificent individual cheesy pizza is the ... say it with me...

bomb.com

this is the one meal that i would not be willing to share, and i think Dan knows better.. :rotfl:

for dessert, dan had this brownie... which was HORRIFIC.. i imagine it was baked prob 10 days prior, packaged in some dark factory and shipped to WPE for Dan to eat.. he tasted it and blechhh.. i tasted it and i fully agree.. gross central.

disney2012524.jpg

Brownie $3

omg i cant believe they charge 3$ for this brownie..

this girl had... ICE CREAM lol.. well "frozen yogurt" - i was able to order this and then they are supposed to bring it over, but i was a little over zealous and headed up to the counter to get it.. You can get choc, vanilla or swirl, and then the girl at the counter made it seem like i can get as many toppings as i want.. but i only got sprinkles... it says on allears, just one topping? hmm

disney2012533.jpg
Frozen Yogurt with one Topping $4 (additional toppings .75)

this was so cute, i only ate the ice cream with the sprinkles...and left some in the bowl, sometimes i find frozen yogurt - the soft serve kind - can taste a bit grainy..

Total: $34.00
DDP: 2 QS
OOP: $0.00

WARNING * THIS MAY GROSS SOME OF YOU OUT * not me though lol

We also had some lunch time entertainment... there were a couple tables outside in the back which we didn't see initally, and the servers did not clear off the table so this guy thought he'd grab some fries.. as well as a couple birds grabbing some snacks!

disney2012532.jpg

Dinner

This became quite the debacle .. we had ressies for Octoberfest.. and when we got there.. someone wasn't quite excited about the menu :rolleyes1 .. so we cancelled our res .. not that i minded lol, there really wasn't anything on the menu for me anyways! So Dan wan't to get a bratwurst from Sommerfest, the place right next door.

disney269.jpg

Bratwurst - served with sauerkraut and roll $6.69

and what i thought was pretty cool, was that you can get a pretzel for dessert! which i got to taste and it was AMAZING! Dan loved this, so much so that when we got home we had to buy a package of them! lol obvi not the same, but still lol

Total: $13.87
DDP: 1 QS
OOP: $0.00

since i don't eat any of that stuff, we headed over to Mexico so i can stuff my face! I LOVE LOVE LOVE mexican food, been to mexico twice - love everything about it! Dan does not like mexican food and does not want to go to mexico LOL..

disney270.jpg

Empanadas de Queso - fresh corn masa (dough) filled with Chihuahua cheese topped with green sauce served with corn tortilla chips $10.75

these were REALLY good, to be honest, they could have filled them with some more cheese - they were a little skimpy.. but it was still good nonetheless! i like how it comes with a side of tortilla chips! and for dessert i HAD to try the churros with caramel! they weren't exactly what i was expecting, not as soft as a big churro but with the caramel sauce.. ahhhhhmaaaazing!

disney271.jpg

Churros con Cajeta - Churros with milk caramel $3.99

Total: $17.63
DDP: 1 QS
OOP: $0.00

Both places we stopped for dinner were EXTREMELY crowded, i don't think i have ever seen the world showcase soooo busy!

my favorite pic from our night at Epcot!

disney2012605.jpg

Another great set of reviews :thumbsup2

I love the look of the veggie omelette but when I saw the photo of the veggie lasagne I just thought "yuk" :crazy2: but it sounds like it was delicious!

omg i know, the look of it is like something you got in a cafeteria in elementary school! but what it lacked in presentation it made up for in taste! :lmao:

I NEED TO TRY THE ICED COFFEE FLOAT.

DO IT!

I was wondering what the white goo was on the cheesesteak - a cheese sauce?? At least your DH liked it. :)

We did come to a logical conclusion it was some kind of cheesy sauce LOL, we couldn't pin point the flavor but def cheesy!

Now I have a sweet tooth*sigh*
that is my plan for the next trip, in which my next dining report will be me attempting to tackle every kind of ice cream in one of the parks! :yay:

:wave2: Just wanted to say "hi" from a fellow Bayonnite!

OMG its a small world.. AFTER ALL! lol what are the odds of a fellow bayonnite reading my little report! lol we are only 3 miles long!!! so cool! Thanks for reading! :thumbsup2
