Wishes Dessert Party ADR Watch Thread December 1-29 2012 Now Open!

You can see just the tops of the floats from the party, but can't see the parade well. I would not count the view from the party as "seeing" it, if the parade is important to you. We save it for another night.

We thought the view of Magic, Memories, and You was fine. However, that night was the only time we watched it, so I can't compare it to seeing it from right in front of the castle.

They give you wristbands to wear when you check in for the party, so you can leave for a bit, for instance to visit the restroom. I wouldn't go too long, though.

I agree. We could see the parade but couldn't really make out the characters. This didn't bother us too much because we don't typically watch the parades. The view for Magic, Memories and You is good, especially if you can move to the tables closest to the buffet area because the roof doesn't hang over it and the castle is completely unobscured. Nearly everyone had left by the time the show started so we moved over. I guess we considered being able to view MSEP and MM&Y from this area as a nice bonus of the overall Wishes party experience, which I totally recommend especially if you are celebrating a special occasion like we did.
The only time I left was to use the restroom and I came right back.

I haven't done it yet, but I have read (possibly in this thread) that you could do it if you watch the parade near the entrance to the party, and watching the parade near the entrance is possible but someone else will have to comment on if it is recommended, since I won't be attending my first party until November.

Thanks for all this great info.. I'm saving all these tips and tricks for Feb when I next plan to be in the world. I hope someone has done this - see the parade AND go to Wishes Dessert party and let us know if and how it worked out!. Thanks guys, you are the greatest!! :cutie:

Unfortunately, that's not the case. The entrance to the party is on the walkway between the Noodle Station (or whatever it's called now) and Tomorrowland. You wouldn't be able to see the parade at all from there (or maybe just the very tops of the floats like you can from the party.) My best advice, depending on what time of year you're going, is to do the party and then go to the second showing of MSEP. Since we always go at busy times of the year this is always an option. I don't know if they do second showings in less busy seasons :confused3

Question... last year the DP was held on party nights but thats not the case this year is it? We are going in Nov but would only be able to go on Tuesday night (our MVMCP night)

Going by the calendar that is showing now it does not seem as if it will be held during the Christmas Party this year but I am keeping my fingers crossed that the calendar is wrong. I was also hopeing to go the night of the Party and it seems from what I have read it was held on Party nights 2009,2010 and 2011

you are right. Last year we went during MVMCP

First timer here for the Party and I wish I'd found this thread sooner! I am having trouble booking September 16 and I see that a lot of you were able to book it a couple of weeks ago. I had thought it was 60 days out that you could book (you know, like the strict 180 days for ADRs, same thing) and yesterday was just 60. I called yesterday and was told no availability. I asked was this because I was too early calling or because it was full. The CM checked and said there were no reservations made for that date yet so I must be too early. :confused3 I tried calling again today (thinking that it's 59 days and I should be within the 60 I thought I needed) and got the same answers. I just tried to book online and it says no availability... am I too late? Is it full already? I wanted Sept. 16, party of two. :worried:

I saw on the list where someone booked the 16th but I'm not seeing any availability on any date in September.....so maybe they are all booked? I put 2 guest and 'anytime' as the time and nothing. Wow, does it sell out that fast? I'm nervous about our October reservation.....I hope we can get one.

Oooo, wait. I just put in 3 guest (no availability for 2) and it worked for the 6th, 10th, 12th, 13th, 15th, 17th.....so looks like the 16th is sold out? I tried 3 guest, 4, 5, 6 and 7 and it still showed no availability for the 16th :(

I was just going to suggest trying a party of 3. But it is probably sold out. I am going Sept 24th and it sold out about a week after the bookings opened which was July 3rd, I believe.

I wonder if the 16th is showing as a valid day for the party, but really isn't. I booked a party of 7 on the 17th about 3 days (i think) after September opened. Then I went back and just wanted to check the prices (i was in too big of a hurry to care about prices at the time!) and tried it on the 16th for a party of two, just to see. It showed as booked then. So my guess is that there is either a glitch in the system, where the 16th looks avalible, but it is not, or it just booked up super quick. Like I said, though, I booked the 17th a couple of days late and I had a party of 7, so who knows...

Sept. 16th is definitely a valid party date, because we are going that day and so is a friend and his family. We booked the day it opened.
