Mom/Daughter Birthday Celebration: Lots of Firsts and Laughs! (Update 3-18-13)

Loving all the photos :) how nice the CM still let you stay, I don't think I would be comfortable leading the noises either.

That's pretty awesome that y'all were able to get front row seats! I don't blame you for not wanting to be in the show...I wouldn't have either!

That fruit salad looks really good. What all was in it?

Looks like you had a great ride on the safari with a bunch of animals!!

25 minutes for Everest wasn't bad at all!:thumbsup2

That fruit salad looks so good!!! I'm scared to ask how much it cost though :rotfl2:

I looked at my Disney receipts so I could remember correctly, but it was $8.99 :faint:

It was actually called a "Lychee Fruit Salad", because of the white-looking fruit that's on there, which is Lychee. DD was excited to get this because of that particular fruit. We "discovered" it when we went to Peru, and DD loved it! And we don't come across it very much, so she gets it anytime she gets the chance. The only other place I have seen that fruit, is places where they have the yogurt bars that have all kinds of fruit you can mix into yogurt.

I'm joining in! How wonderful to have a mother/daughter trip - and to celebrate your DD's bday! :thumbsup2

Since I've read your entire review I have a few comments:
* GREAT idea for viewing the MK parade from the platform! Awesome angle.
* I've never eaten at Tusker House so I was glad to see your review.
* We LOVE the Festival of the Lion King - you scored with those amazing seats!

I'm looking forward to reading more! :)

Thanks for joining my TR! We love our mom/daughter trips!
She loves Tusker House, which I think is probabaly our 2nd favorite now, with 1st place being Cape May! :)

They were very nice, and then along came some other families that the CM had sent over, so there was plenty of people that got the chance to do it; so I didn't feel so bad!

The fruit salad had lychee fruit, pineapple, grapes, strawberries, blueberries, and kiwi. It was really good, and refreshing on that hot day!!

Loved the safari, but have lots more/better pics the 2nd time around, which I'll add soon!!!

Love the TR :happytv: Hoping to be there in November:goodvibes:worship:

Thanks!! I would love to go back and was even thinking of going back in November, but may have to wait until next year, because I have a feeling this is going to be a very expensive school year, with DD's graduation stuff!!!

We eventually made our way back to Kilimanjaro Safari, for the 2nd time.
It was only a 10 minute wait, and we got just the seats I wanted! I always love sitting in the very back and this time I asked if we could sit there. I seem to get better pictures because there's usually a lot you can catch when you can turn around looking behind the vehicle! As you can probably see in a few of the pics.

We made our way over to the Finding Nemo show, as it was the last showing of the day, and we got there right at the last minute: as in running so we could get there in time and hopefully a seat :lmao:!!

We had to sit towards the back, which was fine because we still had a great view!

Wonderful photos! That one giraffe looked so close, very cool.

Thanks! I LOVE giraffes and take tons of pics of them when I get the chance to see them!

After leaving AK, we headed back to the room for a quick "freshening up", and out to Art of Animation to tour around. We definately want to stay there on our next trip to WDW!!

I just read through all five pages, and it seems like the two of you really had a great time! Your pictures of Animal Kingdom are great and remind me of how magnificent that park really is.

Can't wait to read more!

great pictures and updates. Thanks for taking pictures of AoA, makes me excited to stay there in November. ;)

Okay, so Im still fairly new to DISboards and I havent really been a fan of TR.... but yours has just been amazing! I love it:love: Its literally the first thing I check when I login haha. Me and DB are going in late Sept and your TR has been a wonderful way to see the most current pics of WDW. Thank you :)

What an awesome afternoon/evening!

You did get some really good shots on the 2nd safari ride. I've never thought about sitting in the back, but that's a really good idea!! I think Pumbaa was asleep in the very same spot when we saw him!!

Glad you made it in time to see Nemo!

I've never heard or seen the donuts before!

Art of Animation looks so cool! I'm like you--I definitely want to stay there, and your pictures made my want even worse! lol

So glad that you finally got to try EoS and loved it!!!

Love the TR so far... Can't wait to read more!!! And I'm especially curious what you and DD thought about the educational class you took while you were down there...

I'm pretty jealous of the view you ladies had from that Best Western. We stayed there in 2011 during our daughters cheer finals at WDW, but our view was to the north, looking out over I-4 and the Taco Bell plaza. Good to see that your daughter and you are having so much fun! great TR so far!

For Pumba, it does look like a great resting spot, though!

They were having some summer time activities: "Sundowner Celebration", with a few extra things going on and special foods, so I think it's probably just at that certain time when they have those special "treats".

Loved AoA!!

We stayed there last year and loved it!

I got behind.
I love your safari pictures. You really got some good shots.
AoA looks so fun. I can't wait to see it in Nov. :yay:
