Thanks for doing this! It was BADLY needed. This is MUCH better!

I am wondering about opinions on BC vs. YC in August. We stayed CL at BC a few years ago. We're just doing a quick WDW visit, and I wanted to do a one night CL stay, mainly to hang out at the resort (no parks that day). We're booked at BC, but I thought about changing to YC, since we've never done it.

I'm not neglecting any majo rehabs going on in Aug or anything, right? (I can't fgure out why WL club level is so much more $$)

BC was the least expensive CL with the current discount. I'm sort of trying to decide if another resort would be better, but I think we'll have fun at the BC pool and walking the Bwk area.

I think you made a good choice ;) Definitely the main perk to BC CL is the pool and being close to Epcot. The lounge is pretty standard, it is small and a lot of people don't like it, but we just take breakfast to our room if it's crowded so no big deal. I wonder if maybe the quote you're getting for WL CL is a deluxe room? The rates for a standard CL room should be about $100 less than BC CL standard.

My boys (11 and 13) are total lounge lizards. They could care less about any other food in the resort because they just love the CL food. As far as lunch goes we usually eat CS in the park then head back to swim at the resort in the afternoon. Then we do table service dinners. I guess that's why CS at the resort never matters to our group.

Our only concern is CS for breakfast. I didn't know about the Disboards when we stayed at the BC and back then (2003) there wasn't even the Marketplace, so we ate almost every breakfast at Spoodles (which we LOVED and has now been closed for awhile :()....but it would have been a little easier if there had been CS to grab a quick hot breakfast instead of doing a sit down every morning. Since my guys need their bacon, waffles, etc for breakfast, we would have to do a TS every morning unless we ventured to another resort. But I'm still working on them as we'll only be there for a few nights before our cruise. But even if we do end up at AKL CL, that will be ok too since that is one on my list of CLs I'd like to try :goodvibes.

Thanks for starting a new thread! My Atrium Club photos are on the first page of the old thread. You're welcome to add them here. I also have many BWI and WL CL photos/info. The links to those threads are in my signature.

Hi, WDWKOOK .

I have to say you picked a nice home ;) We've only done Poly CL twice but I'd do it again in a heartbeat! Heaven!!!! :thumbsup2

This is good to hear as I've been going back and forth about whether or not to go with Poly CL due to all the negative things I've heard about it, but I have decided to book it for after our cruise next year :thumbsup2. We will never know if it's for us unless we try it for ourselves, so I'm biting the bullet and booking it :).

My boys would like a big hot breakfast like that every day but there is no way I'd let them. ;) I like to get going in the morning and be at the park EARLY to avoid the crowds. So the lounge foods are perfect for us. We get up, get dressed, hop down to the lounge and eat quickly then straight to the bus stop. Ideally I like to hit the park from 9:00-11:00 or 12:00, eat CS lunch in the park, then back to the resort to swim. Then shower around 5:00, grab a few appetizers in the lounge then back to the parks at night with table service dinners around 7:00 or 8:00 PM. Sometimes I will do one big sit-down breakfast during the week, but to me mornings are the primo park time and I don't want to miss it. :thumbsup2

There are pros and cons to every resort.

There was much to like about Poly CL. The view is amazing. It is not my favorite club level, but it depends what you like. Generally, I value the speed of gettingaround you get at CR- but Cr has some of the least exciting/lush landscaping/theming. Poly has much prettier grounds, and the food at Poly was great.

The biggest thing that was not forme, was getting around Poly tooka while. Maybe because I'd heard so much abot how great it is to have the TTC next door to Poly. It was also summer when we were there: daily downpours and lots of HOT. It's not that I hate WDW in the summer, but the value of having the TTC next door is less when it's very hot or pouring down rain (since the walk is not covered). If the weather is nice, then our experience would have been different.

Also, our experience at Poly as tainted by very pervasive fellow guests. It was a very large extended family group that was always in the lounge, always loud, always drunk, always hogging the best 3/4 of the tables. (not just one table, but 3/4 of the prime area) They were loudly playing games during Wishes, ignoring the show. Not only that, but they had napping kids taking up several benches while they were drinking and playing...they weren't horrrible people, they were just... pervasive.

One thing that makes the lounges nice is that most a relatively quiet. I'm not a morning person by nature, so a quiet spot to sip coffee in the morning really help me have a great day.

I feel like our paths haven't crossed in ages. Your DS is officially graduated now:worship:. Have you settled yet on where you're staying for NYE?

I know!!! Things have been a little crazy around here since school got out, so there were times I might have been lurking around the boards but didn't have the time to post. Yes, I have an official graduate :thumbsup2. With things as busy as they've been I haven't had much time for it to sink in, but that will hit me soon and I'm sure I'll be a basket case in August when he's off for his first day of classes as a college student .

We haven't decided for sure whether or not the NYE trip will take place, but if we do go, it will be CR TPV :goodvibes. I would love to be there, but it's hard to swallow those holiday rates with no chance of a discount :(......so we may try to move it to spring or just go more nights before and after our cruise in July :).

We don't spend more than about 2 hours at the parks in the morning as we get there, do what we want to do, then head back to the resort to swim.....then we head to dinner around 5:00-5:30 and go to a different park after that. We try to get to the park kind of early morning, but with a 19 year old that's not always doable as my teen loves to sleep in :rotfl: :rotfl:. But we're never on a schedule so that's ok with me, especially since we never know what park we're going to until we're headed there .

Thanks for all the kind words and thanks especially TigrLvsPooh for agreeing to help and all those posting pictures. I definately have some room pics from RPC I'll add, and plenty from BWI. After next month, I'll have lots more from BWI and BC!

I will take lots of pics of the Poly next month to post. I will try to get photos of the offerings.

I wonder if maybe the quote you're getting for WL CL is a deluxe room? The rates for a standard CL room should be about $100 less than BC CL standard.

The percentage off the WL has been very minimal lately when it comes to GP room discounts. It looks like the BC has 30% off while the WL is only getting 5%, which would be why the BC and other CLs are less than WL CL.

I made my way over here :flower3: Sorry didn't read all the way through last page or two so I posted on the other thread. :rolleyes2

Thank you Scott MC and Erika for putting this together SO quickly. Wow! I know it is a lot of work. :grouphug:

I will get photos at AKL CL and anthing of new interest at BC CL on our Sept/Oct trip.

Thank so much for doing this! It's so informative and it's how I made the decision to do AKL CL. We are so excited about our up coming trip and this thread keeps the excitement going until we get there!!

Nice job!!! Thanks for taking this on, Scott! If you need any recent AKL CL pics, I have plenty...I have Poly, also, but they are from 2010.

At some Deluxe Resorts, your turndown service is accompanied by these lovely cards wishing you a pleasant evening. I've kept all of mine from AKL, GF and BWI. In fact, the GF and BWI ones are framed next to the bed in our bedroom.

Here's a closeup of a turndown card from AKL...

I have a complete set from The Boardwalk, which I'll try to post tomorrow.

I read your post on the other thread and thought I would reply here :). Glad I could help (somewhat) with the GF refurb information. I also wanted to say that GF RPC is amazing. The food offerings are the same in both RPC and SL, but the atmosphere in RPC is much better, IMO, and the CMs are some of the best :thumbsup2. Plus the RPC lounge is so spacious that even when there are alot of people up there, it isn't as chaotic as SL.....makes for a much more relaxing trip ;).
