Walking Distance Hotel List w/ discussion & details of hotels

We are staying at the Best Western Plus Pavilions. Does anyone have any experience with this hotel? How long of a walk are we looking at? The hotel description made it seem close, but I'm worried since I haven't seen it mentioned here. Thank you!

That would be a bit of a hike. Walkable, if you really wanted to; but more comfortable to take ART. It's on ART route 9.

Thanks. That's what I get for rushing to make reservations. Oh well! We will still be at Disney!

You still have time to shop around (unless you paid some kind of advanced purchase rate I suppose).

The Stovall's group that runs the Plus Pavilions has three other BW properties around Disneyland. The Anaheim Inn and the Park Place Inn are both on S. Harbor Blvd. across from the Disneyland entrance. You could take a look at those and see how they compare with rates, amenities, etc.

Here's a link to their site:

Im still a huge fan of the Hotel Menage up on Harbour Blvd. It has a 24 hour pool and hot tub, and the fireworks are amazing, right overhead. Great service and low low prices. Bedding is amazing, bathrooms a little small, but great value at under a hundred most nights. My family stays here everytime..

Sounds great! How far of a walk is it to the parks?

This is an amazing thread and such a valuable resource for DLR visitors who are going off-site! I wonder if OP might consider adding an additional criteria re: suites. There are often threads asking about suites and I know my kids could never nap with me in the same room. That's why we love HoJo's Kids Suite so much, even though you do have to book early to get one of the few coveted suites.

I remember doing extensive research to make sure I didn't get one of the "suites" that only have a half wall as opposed to a full wall with a door (can't remember which hotel that was).

I booked a package thru Southwest Airlines, and I don't know what their change policy is. It's worth checking into. Maybe if I stay within the Stovall group there won't be a problem.

OnTheRoadAgain,

I was just checking Tripadvisor on these hotels as I am still not sure where we are staying.

Please make note that the "Free Evening Social Hour" at Park Vue Inn has been recently discontinued.

Hotel Menage is directly across I-5 behind Its a small world. Its about a 10 minute walk, possibly 15 minutes after a long day. It also is on two different ART lines, meaning it runs twice as frequently, which we like. Parking costs 12 bucks a day. The restaurant there is amazing, as is their tiki bar at the pool. The menu is something to see, nothing over 10 bucks and a great happy hour food and drink specials. It's on their website: "Kya streetfare at Hotel Menage"
I highly recommend this place for an inexpensive, yet resort-ish stay.

BWPPI is one of the ones that only has half walls for their suites. Park Vue has an alcove, without a door, in their queen/bunk bed suite.

We LOVE the Holiday Inn & Suites.

It's a 20 minute walk, we hardly ever take the tram ... sometimes as a novelty, but not because we don't like to walk. It's nice to walk to DTD, too. It's VERY doable with 6&7 year olds. You could always offer piggyback rides too, if they get tired.

I love that kids eat free here, the food is good, and with four kids, it saves us money.

We're staying in October. I got hotwire rate of 60.00 per night. I used betterbidding.com to try and make sure that is the hotel I was getting. No guarantee but, I was pretty sure. This will be our 4th time staying.

I hope you like it. :)

We are staying at the Holiday Inn and Suites on Walnut right next to the parking garage. Is a walk to the park from the hotel reasonable with a 6 and 7 yo? It looks like there is a way to walk South on Walnut from the hotel to Magic Way and head East and you could hop on the tram there. Will that work? Or is there some fence/tram policy that would prevent us from doing that?

How is the noise level at these hotels? It looks like many of the hotels across the street from the park on S Harbor Blvd back up against the highway. Is there a lot of road noise at night?

We may be taking a trip out to DL next year and one of the most important considerations for us would be a good night sleep. Any recommendations on quietest resorts?

Thanks!

Hotel Menage gets alot of complaints about noise, both because of the 24 hour pool and I-5 being right there. We never had an issue there though, but we sleeep with the tv and AC on.

We're staying for a few days in mid-November. I'm sooooo excited! I booked the Anaheim Del Sol based on tripadvisor, and I'm using credit card points, so it's free! But I can't find the review on it? The first post says there's a favorable review in post # , then no number :(. Has anyone stayed there? Is it pleasant enough? We're not going to spend much time there, but like being safe, that it's clean, close to the parks, and bfast is a nice bonus. Opinions welcome! Thanks!

I love the Del Sol! I've stayed there twice in the last year. Everyone is pleasant and go above and beyond. The rooms are larger then most and clean. Breakfast isn't very good and parking is crazy tight. They have a valet guy there most if not all the time. It's kinda like having extra security. It is behind Denny's and very quiet. The pool is small, but clean. It's about 2 minutes to the crosswalk so very close. I have it booked for our trip in August again. It's not a high end hotel but is small and quiet and clean.

Check out Post #12. Also, if you are looking for more info inside this thread, try the "search this thread" button on the green bar near the top of the page. :) (And the "#" in the first post is a notation that this hotel has received mixed reviews, IMO)

Thank you! I'm glad to hear this! Sounds right up our alley. Don't care about the pool, we'll only have 2 days to do the parks, so I plan to spend as much time as possible in the parks! Bummer the bfast isn't better, but cereal and milk will still save us $. I'll have food in a cooler (driving from AZ) so the fridge is important too! Thanks again!
