Even though I haven't booked yet, I'm starting to plan my family's October 2013 WDW trip.

I took several trips as a child, and loved the World. But we never stayed on site or even ate at any TS restaurant. So, back when my DH and I were planning our wedding he gave me the choice of Disney or Vegas for our honeymoon. Guess what I picked :earsboy:

We had a wonderful honeymoon - we stayed at CBR during the Year of a Million Dreams in 2007. It was magical! Three months after our honeymoon, we found out that I was pregnant! It was about that point that I started dreaming of DD's first trip.

DD is currently 3. Her birthday is in mid-October, so she won't be starting kindergarten until she is almost six. Since we won't have to take her out of school (beyond pre-school), we decided to take our princess on her first trip in mid-October 2013 so she can celebrate her 5th birthday in grand style!

My DH is not as into Disney as I am, so I'm going to use this PTR to be able to talk about our trip as much as I want without constantly talking to DH about it.

We are hoping to stay in a Nemo AoA family suite. I'm hoping to book in the next couple of months and really started planning in earnest.

But for now, here are a few pictures:

- Hoping to get an ADR at Chef Mickey's between 6 and 7 pm

Monday - October 14 - MK or rest day

Tuesday - October 15 - rest day or MNSSHP

Wednesday - October 16 - DHS

Thursday - October 17 - DD's Birthday and Departure Day

Yea! I'm in.

Isn't it funny that we're both planning our trips for October 2013 to celebrate a dear child's fifth birthday? Only difference is...you're celebrating your daughter's and I'm celebrating my granddaughter's.

I should start thinking about a trip thread myself. But I dunno if I'll keep up with it.

Yay, you are the first :D

I think we'll both have a great time - I think 5 is the perfect age for a first trip. Though DH isn't sure - he thinks she isn't going to remember it.

I am SO in!
I can't wait to read about your plans!

I've been to a couple of MNSSHP and would be happy to answer any questions you may have :goodvibes

I also started a PTR for our December trip to give my hubby a break from my Disney talk.. :rotfl:

ericamcl - :welcome: We did MNSSHP on our honeymoon - it was so much fun, though we made the mistake of doing the MK all day before going to the party. We were pooped and only made it through the fireworks.

I'm glad my husband is willing to go - but I know I drive him a little crazy with the constant Disney talk. :rotfl:

debrapagliasotti - :welcome: and :wave2:

HI~ I'm in...Connie Cannon Sink from the FB group! Looking forward to following you through the planning process. I won't start our PTR until after I finish my current TR and we actually BOOK our trip. We have not decided whether or not we will do the MNSSHP. We are not sure if we can swing it financially... especially since our oldest DD has requested a water park this time. :sad2:We definitely want to partake of the F&WF at Epcot! ::yes::

Hi there! Hope you've got room for one more to follow your planning journey? Can't wait to hear everything you've got planned :) I know what you mean about coming on here to chat about all things disney, so that our husbands get some peace :lmao:

MNSSHP is great!! We absolutely love it, the only thing is that tune from the parade stays in your head forever :cool1: Boo to you and you and you and you! :rotfl:

:welcome: oopsiDAISY and JoJo1980 - the more the merrier!

We've watched the YouTube video of the Boo To You parade several times so I could show it to my DD - I love it! Even though the song is very repetitive. :rotfl:

It's great, I love the Haunted Mansion bit of the parade, the spooky dancers are brilliant! Our next trip is a couple of years away but I already know we'll be booking for MNSSHP :thumbsup2

:wave2:

Aw your DD is so cute!!

October is a great time to go to Disney! That is our tentative time to go next year if our new baby isn't ready for travel by our May trip.

The weather is warm, pretty decorations, MNSSHP...so much fun! I am looking forward to reading more.

:welcome: daisy_77!

I probably start some introductions of me, DH and DD over the next couple of days. For now, here's a picture of me from my first trip to Disney World.

What a cute picture! :earsgirl: I should scan some of my mom's "vintage" Disney pictures of me. We started going in 1978...it is just no fair that we age and Mickey doesn't! :rotfl2:

I think that picture was taken in 1986, so I would have been nine.

Mickey doesn't age, but he does change. It is interesting to see the characters throughout the years.

Im in From the October thread and the Fbook group! I think im gonna start a PTR on Halloween but Im so excited to be following your DD's first trip ^_^

:welcome: megveg!

So, I think I'm going to start with a little background. My DH and I live in NC, but we are both from MI. We had our wedding up in MI so we had to wait a year after our wedding to have the vacation time to take a honeymoon.

We went to Disney on our honeymoon - we spent our actual anniversary at Epcot and it was great. We started trying for a baby right after we got home, but were a little surprised when I got pregnant only three months later.

Now, when we were at Disney, we decided that we were going to wait until our child was old enough to be out of a stroller and potty trained. As the years went on, we decided that six would be the right age for DD's first trip.

This year, I started thinking about how it would be better to go in 2013. This was because DD's birthday is in October, so even though she'll be turning five next year she won't be starting kindergarten until she is nearly six. So we can go over her birthday without having to worry about taking her out of school.

Then in April, my grandpa passed away and I found out on Facebook. This was also when I started having panic attacks and things came to a head with some crappy family members. I made my husband promise that we could go to Disney next year, and for a while the thought of Disney was a major thing that helped keep me sane.

I cut the crappy family members out of my life and I got some medicine from my doctor to help with the panic attacks. But we are still going to Disney next year and I can't wait! :goodvibes

To introduce our cast of characters, I'll start out with my DD.

DD is currently 3 and 1/2 years old. Her birthday is in October - two weeks before Halloween.

My DH often accuses me of brainwashing her to love Disney. :lmao: But there might be a little truth to that.

Her favorite shows and movies seem to be Disney ones. She loves Toy Story, The Princess & The Frog and Snow White. And her favorite show right now is Doc McStuffins - she often pretends she is Doc. :goodvibes

Her favorite holiday is Halloween - she has requested a Halloween birthday party for her upcoming birthday. We are going to make halloween treats, wear costumes and carve pumpkins similar to what I did for her 1st birthday.

She is starting preschool for the first time this fall. It should be interesting, but her preschool is through our church so it will be familiar for her. Since her birthday is in October, she won't be starting kindergarten until she is nearly 6. This was one of the reasons I wanted to do our Disney trip next year because I love Disney in the fall. We won't have to worry about taking her out of school next year so she can have Disney for her birthday.

New here and this is officially the first PTR that I have read and already I am hooked. Your daughter is just adorable and how lucky for her to have a birthday near Holloween. I have seen the families having there birthdays at the pumkin farm and always thought that having a holloween birthday would be "awsome".:lmao:

I will be taking my daughter next may to Disney and I am super excited about it. I would love to be able to take her out of school in October to enjoy MNSSHP, but alas it wasn't in the cards this year. Maybe in a couple of years if she keeps her grades up we can talk about it. She is as big of a holloween nut as I am.:thumbsup2

I think your daughter will remember more than you think even at such a young age. Especially if you have lots of pictures and video to remind her. ;)

:welcome: PrincessMom13 - to both my PTR and to Disboards!

I think DD will remember a lot from the trip - but DH isn't so sure. We'll see - she's excited anyway.

I was pretty excited to find out I was having an October baby - Autumn is my favorite time of year! I wanted to get married in October, but we got married on September 30 because we were concerned it would get too cold since we got married in Michigan.
