? from newbe...When you eat at a QS on the DDP can you save your dessert for later instead of ordering it at the same time as the drink and entree? Sometimes I'm not hungry enough for a dessert until later or what if you don't want what that resturant has for dessert. TIA!!!

If you mean can you separate the dessert as its own credit and use it during a different visit -- no, you can't do that.

In the parks I have not tried if you can go back to the counter within your visit get a dessert following getting an entree. What can happen is several of the QS desserts are packaged cookies or cakes that you can take with you anyway. They are not all pre-packaged this way but several are.

At the resorts, in one example, you can get your entree and then go back to get a sundae and have them mark your receipt later. I have done that at Pop Century. There is a reasonable time limit on going back to get the dessert, we're talking within an hour or so -- you can't save the dessert until like the next day or something. The purpose here is more to not have melting ice cream while you are eating your entree

So if you can get it only for one night, can you check into your hotel early on a Monday morning (even if a room isn't ready), get the deluxe dining plan for one night, and use the meal for that Monday and the day you check out?

Yes, you can get DDP on a one-night package if you want. The maximum on a US-booked package is 14 nights. Free dining is the exception- there is a minimum of a three-night package for free dining.

Yes. I once used the quick service plan exactly like that.

Does anyone know if the new Beauty and the Beast restaurant will be part of the QS (lunch) dining? My DS and future DIL will be spending their honeymoon in WDW in late November and since they are having a B&B themed wedding (at Disneyland!) this is a must stop. Otherwise I will need to send money with them to be able to go.

yes, it will, and it will be a QS for lunch. This is assuming it is open in late November, which we are still not clear on.

Yes, you can use snack credits at F&W, a really good use as some of the items allowed are more expensive than usual items.

The signs at each F&W location will have the items marked with the DDP purple logo to indicate which items are available with a snack credit.

If you search the easywdw.com site, Josh should have good photos of the F&W offerings with example signs, so you can get an idea what kinds of items are available for a snack credit.

We are annual passholders with a room only reservation at AoA checking in on Sept 15th for 6 nights.

How do we add the quick service dining plan? Do I call the passholder line or dining? Is tax included or how do i figure my cost so I know they give me the right amount when I call?

Also, is it better to add it now or could I just add it at check-in?

To add the plan, I'm pretty sure that you can just call the Central Reservation line and ask to book a ticketless package with your APs. Not 100% sure on that, though the passholder line should be able to direct you properly if needed.

As far as tax, it's included in the prices.

Any dining plan changes, additions, or removals must be done no later than 3 days before check-in (2 days for DVC points reservations). So, doing it earlier is likely better than later.

Do note that this will "convert" your room only into a package and that all package restrictions and rules will apply. This means that the due date for all payments will be 45 days before check-in (or, right away, since you are under that). It also means that there may be an additional change fee applied. Typically, they'll waive this fee for upgrades if you're more than a couple weeks out (which you are at this point), so it's likely that they won't apply it. (Erm, if it does even apply, since they'd be redoing your reservation... so it may not... /shrug).

Also note that AP ticketless packages with dining are only available for stays at rack rate or the AP discount rate. If you are booked under a general public or other room discount, it will not be available.

Hi, I haven't read through the thread so if the information is there and I'm being a pain don't answer and eventually I'll begin to read through it .

My BBF is thinking of joining me for 3 nights of my 7 night trip, and I've got FD with the regular dining upgrade. I've been told by my TA that if she comes, I'll have free dining for her for the full week regardless of when she leaves. Thinking about this though, means that the upgrade will still have to be paid for the full week correct? Meaning 16 dollars or so a day or about 112 dollars for the week.

Unless you book two separate room reservations, you must get the same dining plan for each night of your stay, for everyone registered in the room, so yes, you will need to pay for the upgrade for all 7 nights for both of you. When she is not there, you can use her credits though.

Just wanted to verify...

We are going Nov 29-Dec 3 (NON-Peak) and I called to add the dining plan and was given an estimate for $57/night adults and $20/night kids. ( I think she gave me the peak prices PLUS tax).

But the actual cost is $51.54 and $15.02 all inclusive, right? No tax added to those prices?

Tax on the MEALS is included in the dining plan.

I do not know how tax on the package itself affects the dining plan price.
